it's great to see"custer"again after all these years.the series was never in syndication and i only saw the movie they made from 2 episodes of it,years ago.when it was first on ABC in 67,my father loved it!
yes there was a brief interest in showing custer as a good guy in this period after the great sioux massacre and the custer of the west epic sadly when this was shown the pc brigade decided you could only show custer as an idiot or maniac and cancelled it there was calls for it to be banned in the uk and it only showed two episodes before it vanished not a bad series i thought

Awesome episode. I guessed the spy right. The real Custer sure wasn't as handsome as WM. He was a hottie.

I am no longer a strongly religious man, but I have to wonder if the real Custer saw these shows if he would feel shame and possibly guilt, being unable to live up to the legends people had made of his courage, intelligence, and forward thinking. I suspect it would be the same for Crazy Horse.
think he would because the only similar example we can cite from kit carson certatainly provoked that response.carson the mostly forgotten by hollywood colonel soldier hunter indian fighter rancher ranger and scout is generally accepted as the greatest mountain man scout and fighter in the west a living legend,when chasing apaches to regain stolen white women over hundreds of miles they attacked but the apaches killed one woman who had a book dime novel of carson rescuing damsels from indians.he nearly had a breakdown he worried that the women read the book and thought hed save her but he was unable to in reality he it says never got over it so i think custer would feel the same if he saw what was being shown good post
