Lovely job. My ground is hard so I’ve set the uprights on blocks sitting on the ground and put some knee braces on the top corners to resist wracking. Thanks for the clear demonstration of netting 👌

You have inspired me to build a fruit cage on my allotment, where did you get the netting from please.

Hi Les, thats really great to hear that you are going to build one, it definitly makes growing brassica's a whole lot easier! We got the net from a place online called Harrod Horticulture .. this is the one we decided you use from their range Butterfly Netting Soft Mesh 8m (W) GNE-080 - But there are lots of options depending on size and budget. Let us know how it goes for you.

Great video, just what I have been looking for. Can I ask what is the netting called and how strong is it?

Hi Leigh-Anne. Glad our video has helped you, and sorry for the delayed reply, I had done it on my phone weeks ago, but just noticed today our reply never showed - so sorry. Anyway, its just called Bird Netting. we bought it from Harrod Horticultural in England and the product code is GDN-026 if you'd like to look it up. It is pretty stron, we have not had any trouble with its strength so far and have seen birds sitting on top of it as well.

just wondering if it is strong enough for the snow?

yeah its strong netting, although we dont really get any snow here to test it, if you get really heavy snow then i wouldnt like to say!!!

Would suggest adding some wires to roof to support netting should you get snow

Add wires to roof is a must in both directions and should help against snow.

Can you please tell me more about the posts? Where did you source them and what is their original purpose?

Hi the posts are round 75mm diameter, 2.4m length, posts that are sold for agricultural/farm fencing, i got these from a local timber yard, they are commonly available, they come pressure treated but i treated them again and left to dry a few weeks before using! As they tend to rot around the soil level after 4 or 5 years..hopfully that helps!

Good Job! That would also make a great chicken run with welded wire. Love your channel name! lol
