    Beautiful installation. Loved the Talavera cactus. You are so right that succulents are the next thing to plastic. It was you, many years ago, that showed me you don’t have to treat them with kid gloves.

    Just want to say how much I appreciate and understand all the groundwork that goes into creating a finished garden design (I worked for years as a landscape gardener). I’m also intrigued by the whole mental process of going from “before to after.” The details are incredible! You know what you are doing.

    Hanna's so funny coaching you so you dont forget what to mention. Great job DFS. So colorful and thoughtfully planned..... although shammy beige is as exciting as a wet shammy when it comes to color... but honestly, cali gold wouldn't look right and I dont know what other rock would look nice next to the house color. It's always a joy to see what you come up with! Cant wait till next week!

    another magnificent install with Team DFS! 💫💫💫i love the talavera pot with the cactus... and i agree: the pot is the star! she will enjoy that garden forever... can we ask mother nature to hold off on some of this rain till later in the year?? lordy, she dumps it all in month and then packs her bags and leaves, lol... we do need it, but it would be great if she could spread it out a bit (and please take that cold air with you, too, MN)... hopefully after this week we are mostly done with it... great job working so you beat the rain... looking forward to seeing the xeriscape!! 🥰🥰🥰🥰

The small stand of corn cobs, the agaves and the beautiful tapestry and fountain. I think not only the owners but d entire neighbourhood benefits from such beauty! Thank you for taking the time and effort to share.

    The Talavera pot was a great decision. Visually, it's a great point of interest in the garden and it unifies it to the house, with the nearby azulejo tiles in front steps sharing these smooth surfaces. Excellent design to repeat these elements throughout the home & garden 👍

    I have always adored succulents and cacti. Unfortunately I live in zone 5a where we get the four seasons. So I live through your installations and love them all. There are some succulents I can plant here but nothing like in "The Land Of Milk and Honey" 😍🌵🇨🇦

    • @erikm8372
      @erikm8372 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can still grow them outdoors in spring and summer. And possibly agaves and cacti all year, just protected from excess rain. Many of their species get blanketed in snow in winter though. There's _Agave utahensis_ from...Virginia... jk. Lol. It's from the area of Utah, Colorado, NM etc., so they definitely get covered in snow along with the native cactuses. But it hardly rains there is the thing. Soon as snow starts melting, the hot sun evaporates it and the rest drains out. So it is possible for you!

    • @patriciajessup5275
      @patriciajessup5275 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@erikm8372 I appreciate your feedback on this topic. I will do some reasearch on the above mentioned varieties. All vegitation fasinates me but the world of cacti and succulents definitely intrigue me the most. As i now live in a milder Province in Canada the world of gardening has opened it's doors up to me.

    Oh my gosh, this is so gorgeous. I'm so lucky to live in San Diego -- can't wait to drive by and check this one out in person. And... you read my mind. I was thinking I need to comment that you need to put a mic on Hannah so we can hear the dialogue, and 2 minutes later you said the same thing. I did get my hopes up for a few seconds when you said your next installation was in Clairemont, until I realized you were talking about your son's Claremont in LA and not my Clairemont in SD. But looking forward to the xeriscape!

    Just watched these 4 videos in a row. I usually can't wait and watch them the day you put each up. But seeing the plants, boulders, composition of colors, textures, heights, mounds, and top dressing, is WOW, a master class. The icing on the cake is this video where the perfect beige and burgundy top dressing pulls the beautiful house right into the landscaping Team DFS created here. It's art. Living art. In 3D. Mindful of how time will come into play. Absolutely ART.
    I'm going to be watching and listening and learning from these 4 videos over and over.
    Laura you are a genius. And a fantastic teacher!

    This garden is particularly inspiring for me. Perhaps because the scale and size are closer to my yard. Such a beautiful outcome. Laura, in a future video, it would be helpful to see a step-by-step demo of converting pop-up sprinklers to a drip line. I am going through this now. Would also like to understand if an adaptor/regulator is needed on the valve to manage the water pressure when this type of a conversion is done. Thanks.
