TRAVELING TO INCREDIBLE ZIHUATANEJO, MEXICO (2021)

- In this video I wake up in the town of Acapulco again where I had stayed for some time. But I was about to take the bus further up north in the west side of Mexico to the town of Zihuatanejo. I had previously come all they way from the state of Oaxaca and the famous towns there like Huatulco and Puerto Escondido which were also really incredible. Compared to those towns, Zihuatanejo did not have as clean water by the beach but instead really amazing mountains surrounding the town. Zihuatanejo is a resort city on Mexico’s Pacific Coast, northwest of Acapulco. It’s known for its beaches, like Playa La Ropa, and many more incredible ones.

I'm 48 and started traveling like this just recently and feel the same sense of urgency. I've traveled over 30,000 miles in the last 5 months! It's just in you. You'll know when to slow down.

Mexico is cheep to travel. We fly out of Tijuana for under $200 per person usually. We started traveling as soon as we got married 23 years ago. My husband is from Aguascalientes. We have homes in Rosarito beach Baja. We are there every other week. 3 or 4 times a year we are in another part of Mexico for a week or 2 with our kids. They are 14 and 16. They’ve been traveling since they were tiny. We were in puerto Vallarta in November, going to Oaxaca City in February, and Akumal in March. We are blessed to make great memories.
Zihuatanejo, or Zihua as it's affectionately called, is a Pacific paradise of beautiful beaches, friendly people, and an easygoing lifestyle. Until the 1970s it was a sleepy fishing village, but with the construction of Ixtapa next door, Zihua's tourism industry boomed practically overnight.

Hi from Canada William. I lived in Acapulco in 1973 and loved it. This was before the drug cartels were present. It is a beautiful city. During that time I visited Zhihuatanejo.It was a tiny fishing village. I stayed in a room by the river mouth. At night, I heard strange scratching noises. I thought that it was a rat, but it turned out to be a tortoise on the floor under my bed. While there, I went to an open air "cinema" to see the original King Kong versus Godzilla. The screen was a white-washed wall that attracted bugs and geckos. The seats were just wooden boards on cement blocks. When the movie was boring I could look up and see the stars or watch the geckos chasing the bugs. Lots of fun.

Haha no I havent broken any beds actually. Usually you can hear if they are already broken. The feathers inside have been worn out and make weird noises lol

I've been to Z when it wasn't so busy and that's the time to go. You've got to go swimming in the bay. It was my favorite part of visiting that area. The water was so silky feeling and inviting, I didn't want to leave. You've got to see the marina' lots of yachts there, fun shopping and good eats in Z.

You're doing the trip I just did, but in reverse! I hit Mazatlán (where I live), Puerto Vallarta, Manzanillo, Zihuatanejo, Acapulco, and Puerto Escondido. I skipped Huatulco :) I'll be back in Mazatlán after the 18th - let me know if you'll be there then and I'll buy you a beer!

Good adventure films.... Zihuatanejo was mentioned a few times in the film '' Shawshank Redemption ''... While staying in Puerto Escondido , they use to refer to the place as ZIWA, simply.. thanks for the nice film... as we are stuck in the snow in Québec, Canada because of the Covid restrictions here

There is absolutely no restrictions on travelling,you can fly to go to Mexico anytime,your choice to stay in the snow,too bad the wheater is great here!

You have shown us many places that some of us may never see but Zihuatanejo is a place I have been and enjoy.
But if you get a chance, please visit Ixtapa including Isla Ixtapa which are about 15 kilometers north of Zihuatanejo.
Ixtapa, is to me Paradise on Earth because of it's location but the people are absolutely great.
South of Zihuatanejo you will find Barra de Potosi, which is breath taking.

Im gonna share my thoughts with you, 2:48 don't be sacrificing your great inner peace because someone wants to charge more for a longer ride (sometimes there is more that one bus terminal in a city), is cheaper to pay $40 pesos (only $2 dollars), and keep you inner peace and joy than get mad and still have to pay LOL (that little money for you is a huge difference for him), may God bless you with abundance, prosperity, money and over all generosity with out limits! he wanted 150 pesos for a ride that was not even 10 minutes. If I pay 8 dollars like that every ride I take then I wont be able to travel the way I do and make more videos eventually. I have been smart with my money in the past that's why I have been able to budget and record videos and get it all done. If I spent all my money then I would need to go back and work again and I could not make any videos and my dream would vanish

I was in zihuatanejo long time ago. I did like a lot. I dreamed to buy a property there. Now that I am seeing this video again I want to accomplish my dream of being buying a little piece of property there.

Z was always a very, expensive hotel vacation. I sold mexico vacations. Cabo,pvr,xatapa, but z was a prime spot! When I flew, we flew around a my and came upon an incredible blue bay with buildings built up the mt. Alcupulco! Beautiful from the plane! We dropped off pax and left. Was fa working.hey blondie, you are handsome young man! Get out of sun! Too much sun will make you wrinkly old man!😄😄👍
Yes it was a bit expensive I was lucky to find a hotel for 25 dollars per night. it was fully booked an I had to stay in a really bad one

I am originally from the central valley of Oaxaca, but have been living in Vancouver, Canada for the past twenty years the weather here is not as good. Twenty years have gone by really fast, true what you say about doing as much and enjoy as much of your life while you are younger; I came here at 22 now 42.
