    I'm so tired of James carrying the ball every time he touches it.
    That 'highlight' of him on the fast break, he literally tossed the ball in the middle of dribbles to his opposite hand.
    Being athletic isn't the same as having skill.
    James proves it constantly with his brick hands, and MINISCULE bag.

    There is one thing that happened during MJ's wizard year that made me have total respect of him, in one of the games against the Pacers, MJ only scored like 8 points, having a really bad night and the coach Doug Collins pulled MJ off the court and never let him on court again, that game made MJ break his record of consecutive games of making double digit point, did he care? No, he never asked to go back on court so he can get another 2 point to maintain his record, he even told Doug after the game that he made the right choice of pulling him off, and asked Doug if he still believe he can still play which Doug replied yes, the next 2 games ( one against Hornet and the other i believe is the Nets ) Mj did the unthinkable, he scored a total of 90+ points in those 2 games, with hornet 50+ and net 40+ points, I watched those 2 games on live TV at the time and I was blown away by what MJ did, MJ never cares about record, unlike LBJ, all he wanted is to win and he will do anything to achieve that goal, that's his passion to the game of basketball. Can LBJ do what MJ did? I don't know but I doubt he ever will, with that weak mentality he has, all he wants now is all the possible record and accomplishment ( besides winning championships ) in the hope of besting MJ in the goat conversation.

    • @Vince-tt1uj
      @Vince-tt1uj ปีที่แล้ว +12

      There is totally opposing story about LeBron. In 2021 during match against Hawks, James sprained his ankle in 2nd quarter. He could barely walk, but he stay on the court for the couple more possesions to get to 10 points to keep his streak alive. Immediately after he got a three that get him there he went off the court. The Lakers lost that game to the Hawks 94-99 and commentators were speaking how important was to keep this streak alive. So in conclusion streak was more important than winning a game. Thats the difference between LBJ and Jordan.

    Today's NBA has a lot of skill... HOWEVER... BACK THEN:
    1) How often did you see traveling like you see it today? It is not even close and that alone makes it near impossible to guard someone
    2) Obviously you can barely touch anyone today defensively without getting a 'touch foul
    3) 3 point play is a massive differentiator today - no doubt. I will give that to today's play. They could have launched 3s back in those days to, but they didn't. That is a huge difference and opens everything else up...
    I always say, as much as Jordan dominated in his price until his second retirement, and realistically should have got MVP every year, the most impressive thing was what he did after being gone for 3 years and playing most of those 2 years with nagging injuries. His numbers were super impressive given all those things in those times. In that sport, to come back after being gone for 3 years, to have the numbers he has was super impressive. They are very close to Kobe's lifetime averages!

I admire chasing greatness, but he's always the one chasing lol which means someone else is ahead of him. Jordan was in this battle with himself to win & accepted he wouldn't be able to play against legends of the past. So he let his body of work speak and let the chips fall, but #1 was ALWAYS to win, but believe it or not, Jordan actually valued the fans. He would say he owed it to the fans that paid to see the games to give them his best - that was his job. It's a different mentality today. These guys don't really care about the fans. They just care about Instagram girls and stuff.

      My point is, new players have all the tools and resources (training and video footage) to build off of the old techniques of the greats before them. That has allowed the game to evolve into what it is now. Is it easier to score, yes. Is there way more skill, also yes. You can argue the stats all day, but what makes MJ the GOAT has little to do with stats. It's the way he played the game. He dominated both ends of the floor most of his career. Not only didn't he take games off, he didn't take possessions off. The scary thing is he seemed to take it personal and take his game to a borderline insane level when offended or someone talked trash and to think if he did that every game just imagine what he could have achieved. MJ hasn't played an NBA game in 20 years and his shoe sales are still #1.
