      I fly free anywhere on American and 90% discount on foreign airlines so I get there early and relax at airline guest lounge.
      Only with a carryon,57 countries,over 3 million miles,over 30 different airlines .
      Works every time as well.

    Love your tips. I think I have watched every one of your video's.. Here's a tip from me. You know how people are stealing your credit card numbers. Or getting your information from your phone, just by passing you. Well how you stop that is: Go to any computer store and ask: Do they have any extra shipping bags. (The ones for hard drives.) They are static free bags. Before you leave for the airport. Put your wallet and cell phone in this bag. As your going threw the airport. They will not be able to retrieve your info. When you get to the TSA area. That's were they X-ray your bag. Take your wallet and phone out. When they are done. Put it back into the bag. Even the x-ray machine won't be able to see threw it. Everyone have a great trip!

    They like to go through my hair for whatever reason. I mean it's really long, to my lower back, but when it's just lying flat I don't know how I would be able to hide anything in it.

  • @treefloraken8263
    @treefloraken8263 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Here’s some info.
    If you have a laptop, kindle, iPad, or other item(s) larger than a cell phone, that needs to go through the X-ray, you must make sure to put items either in separate bins, or side-by-side in one bin, if they’ll fit. Make sure to never overlap items in bins, because the X-ray operator needs to see through everything.
    Curling irons, hair straighteners, and charging cords do not need to be taken out of the bag.
    If you’re wearing sandals and you don’t want to wear socks, you can wear a pair of nylon flesh colored sock-lets and just dispose of them after going through TSA. And bring an empty water bottle! Airport water fountains are filtered!
    This info is all directly from a TSA agent, except the water tip.

    I have my makeup bag (nonliquids) and my liquids bag, plus my medicine bag (I do declare it because I have quite a few I need to take daily.) I have had two different TSA agents this year already (both women!) SCOLD ME in line for my apparent vanity and how I need to "scale it back". I am within my required limits on sizes, but somehow they've felt the need to call that out! My husband was pretty shocked last time.

    I use my time in the line to take everything that needs to go through separately out of my bags, and i also have a foolproof outfit that usually includes yoga pants or leggings, shoes that are not boots or have laces (at least not high tops) and no cardigans or jackets because they make you take jackets off as well! because i travel a lot for work, i have the passport/security control mastered! And i know this mind seem offensive to some, but since i live in an eu country, i avoid getting in the all passports line, just because i know the officers give non eu residence a hard time when traveling within the eu ( sad but i ve seen it happen a lot :( )

    We live in Australia and we had a 3 week trip to America and we had 9 flights the entire trip, and on the way back from Washington DC (we caught a train from New York to get to Washington DC) and my brother had TSA-Pre, and we didn't even enrol. He just... got it. But the rest of us didn't have it. He asked if he could be in the same line as us, and he got permission to come in our line, but he did the same stuff as someone in the TSA Pre line.

    THANK GOD I get through WITH OUT the quart sized bag. I don't put items in the quart sized bag even when they ask us to in line because I always take more liquids than allowed.
    I just use the 1 GALLON ziploc bag (abt size of a 8.5 X 11 paper). I put ALL my liquids in there. You know us women can't fit nothing in a tiny quart sized bag.
    9/10 big airports don't check anyway. Only smaller airports!!! But I've gotten through smaller airports with this trick.Just make sure nothing goes over 3.4/ 4 ounces and TUCK everything and you are goood!!!

    I'm traveling after a long time in a few months so I'm not exactly sure how things went. But do you have to take off your earrings if you're wearing any and do you also have to put you phone in the bin? Also, can we carry regular chargers or do they have to go in checked bags? And my last question is, you can have a carry on AND a personal item which can be counted as a purse, right?

  • @WildflowersCreations
    @WildflowersCreations 10 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Great advice as always, thank you. I will point out that I travel with Doc Martins as my primary shoes. To save room in my suitcase I always wear them while traveling. To make the line go quickly, while in line I unlace them, tuck the laces inside so I don't trip, once I get to the front I slip them off, put them in a bin along with lots of other stuff, get scanned, gather my stuff, and then find a place to sit put everything away and put by Docs back on. It's not as quick as slip-ons, but I am able to make it mostly seamless and cause no one behind me additional time waiting.

    What if you're flying First Class? Are you put into a different line than everyone else? Also, is it true that you get a pat-down-check while in Airport Security? Cause' I don't feel comfortable about that, hehe. And lastly, will your carry-on bag be checked as well, or do you get to hold on to it going through Airport Security?

    • @thebunny9421
      @thebunny9421 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Matthew Kroch I've flown first/business and you're supposed to have a separate line, they don't always do. I always ask and some agents get annoyed but if I paid for it then why not? Everything you have including Carry ons are checked. You'll only get a pat down if the detector goes off or get picked randomly at Customs.

    • @lauraestes8083
      @lauraestes8083 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sometimes they do and sometimes they don't, you buy your tickets with the airline and the security is technically just a government checkpoint. So basically the TSA security doesn't have to because they aren't controlled by the airlines. But when you fly first class you get called onto the plane first because that is controlled by the airlines.

    How you "declare" stuff like pill medications? Do you just tell the TSA agent when they check your ID and boarding pass?

    • @soniastravels
      @soniastravels  10 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You don't need to declare pills if they are your own prescriptions. It's when you have large amounts that you need to declare it. But that's when you enter the country, not to go through security to enter the gate :)

    • @PinkSwiftPenguin
      @PinkSwiftPenguin 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      if you're flying within the US you're not entering the country.

    • @WildflowersCreations
      @WildflowersCreations 10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Regarding medication, if you are traveling with less then 2 weeks worth of pills, they are not going to ask you anything. If it is liquids it has to be declared.
      If they are picky or do ask for info all you need is your passport and the prescription bottle, or the paperwork that says what it is and your name on it, that is usually all they need to see and you just sail right through.
      I have traveled in the US and to China, I travel with a few medications in a weeks pill container and I have never had any problems with them asking for anything.

    Hello! I loved your video very much. It's very helpful. I also have some tips for you which I hope you'll never need.
    If you had surgery and if you have a pacemaker or a coclear implant ( it's a earing aid by the way) or some metal or anything that you weren't born with but you have inside of you, make sure that you have the documentation that prove it and that it is as handy as the rest of your documents such as ID. My father as a coclear implant and he spends extra 2-5 minutes in security that everyone else. It's not much more time but that only happens because he's prepared. He knows exactly what to do because he does his research so that he can get thru security as fast as possible.
    So here's my advice.
    Sorry my poor English

I'm only taking a carry on, so I have to wear my lace up boots instead of wasting space in my bag for them. I'll keep them untied, loosened, and tuck in the laces, and that will have to do.

    The only time I had to take off my shoes on an airport, was, when I travelled to the USA. Every other time I went through security, I didn't have to take them off...

      Depends on where you are going and from what country. You will need a passport, and maybe a visa, proof of immunization, etc. You didn't mention your citizenship, but it American try here for information: travel.state.gov/content/travel/english.html

      Imhim247 I hear you! May I also suggest that you look up the United States embassy there in the Philippines and register your trip with them? If there is civil unrest or natural disaster while you are there, they will come looking for you. I always do that when I travel to foreign countries.

    Also there is $85 for 5 years to get TSA pre approved. So if you are travelling a lot, it is worthy.

    Hey sonia! Is Tsa pre are for all nationalities? Is there any exemption to this? Can you explain or elaborate further about this? Thanks! :)

    • @lauraestes8083
      @lauraestes8083 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      From my understanding (which is very limited) tsa pre-check just goes and makes sure you don't have a record and aren't a threat. They want to make sure they don't let anyone who was caught attempting to bomb a large public area, but if you were arrest for a few unpaid parking tickets then you would be fine.
      The only difference that I can recall is that they don't make you take off your shoes. But again they just want to make sure that they don't let a possible threat slip under their noses.

    • @EmmyLynnVids
      @EmmyLynnVids 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It can be a drivers license or passport or similar forms. You can check the tsa site and they should have a list of acceptable Forms of identification

    In Singapore, everything airportish is a breeze. 1) Stuff in bins. Roughly the same but faster. 2) Kids take off shoes and through the metal detector thingy. Adults don't have to most of the time. 3) Passport + ID Check. A breeze! PS. Declaration of special liquids bla bla bla is during immigration. The place before the gate and after the airport you first step in. I apologize if information is incorrect. That's what happens on my travels. :)

    With all that trouble, why even go? It took me 45 mins to get thru TSA at DFW and there were only four people ahead of me. If you go with private aviation, there's no security.
