“The Little Mermaid” is the beloved story of Ariel, a beautiful and spirited young mermaid with a thirst for adventure. The youngest of King Triton’s daughters and the most defiant, Ariel longs to find out more about the world beyond the sea and, while visiting the surface, falls for the dashing Prince Eric. While mermaids are forbidden to interact with humans, Ariel must follow her heart. She makes a deal with the evil sea witch, Ursula, which gives her a chance to experience life on land but ultimately places her life - and her father’s crown - in jeopardy. The film stars singer and actress Halle Bailey (“grown-ish”) as Ariel; Jonah Hauer-King (“A Dog’s Way Home”) as Prince Eric; Tony Award® winner Daveed Diggs (“Hamilton”) as the voice of Sebastian; Awkwafina (“Raya and the Last Dragon”) as the voice of Scuttle; Jacob Tremblay (“Luca”) as the voice of Flounder; Noma Dumezweni (“Mary Poppins Returns”) as Queen Selina; Art Malik (“Homeland”) as Sir Grimsby; with Oscar® winner Javier Bardem (“No Country for Old Men”) as King Triton; and two-time Academy Award® nominee Melissa McCarthy (“Can You Ever Forgive Me?” “Bridesmaids”) as Ursula.
“The Little Mermaid” is directed by Oscar® nominee Rob Marshall (“Chicago,” “Mary Poppins Returns”) with a screenplay by two-time Oscar nominee David Magee (“Life of Pi,” “Finding Neverland”). The songs feature music from multiple Academy Award® winner Alan Menken (“Beauty and the Beast,” “Aladdin”) and lyrics by Howard Ashman, and new lyrics by three-time Tony Award® winner Lin-Manuel Miranda. The film is produced by two-time Emmy® winner Marc Platt (“Jesus Christ Superstar Live in Concert,” “Grease Live!”), Miranda, two-time Emmy winner John DeLuca (“Tony Bennett: An American Classic”), and Rob Marshall, with Jeffrey Silver (“The Lion King”) serving as executive producer.

I love the part where Ariel says, "Oh My God, It's too big, it's hurting my insides". Very Emotional ...
I loved the part when Ariel said "You're gonna need a bigger boat".
Props to Disney UK not turning the comments off unlike the pathetic other channels.
She's got the perfect voice singing those songs
Hailee is beyond beautiful and sings like an angel. The only thing that's letting down the movie is how bd the CGI is. I can't it actually hurts to look at. I studied animation its not my fault I analyse movies 😅😅🤣🤣.
After watching trailer: deleted from my waitlist.

I like the bit where at Ariel's sister's wedding Ariel reveals to Eric that her family is a Mafia group. Then Ariel reassures Eric "That's my family Eric. That's not me."
Ah man. Where's the red hair? It's iconic.
It went away with the white mermaid. And with Disney's investment capital
It's still red it's just really light
That’s why this movie sucks 😅
@@bigching4827 to some people it sucks to others it's a really good movie
@@mike-cc3ddoh you mad 😂 Halle is Ariel ❤
I’ve had my thought on the cast of Ariel...however, this gave me the chills of excitement. WOW! Respect.
Why is it so dark and hard to see? The original was really colourful.
Maybe you need to see a doctor 🤔
It's very colourful, almost too colourful. Have you thought of checking your settings?
yep, it kinda loses the magic of the original film
@@naledilethepa3202 Maybe you should stop being woke and have fun.
@@lanala_adven Realistic? A Disney princess movie is not about realism, pal.
Loved the part where King Triton looked at Ariel and said "make a choice, friendo."
My doughters love everything that has to do with mermaids. This will be a reason for me to go to the cinema and watch it😄🤭
"The Wonderful World of Disney's The Little Mermaid: A 20th Anniversary Celebration Voice Cast:
Ellie Kemper as Ariel, a curious, adventurous and headstrong mermaid princess and King Triton's youngest daughter who is fascinated with the human world.
She's depicted as a kindhearted, sweet and gentle mermaid princess with a light tan skin, a long brown hair and a magic shell-shaped necklace that allows her to take on a human form while retaining her blue eyes and curiosities based on Barbie's mermaid best friend Isla the Mermaid from "Barbie: Dolphin Magic" who agrees to help her protect the gemstone dolphins from marine biologist Marlo and save the day wherever she's needed.
Tom Holland as Eric, an adventurer and free-spirited human prince whom Ariel falls in love with after saving him from
drowning.
Annie Murphy as Ursula, a treacherous and conniving sea witch and King Triton's estranged sister with whom Ariel makes a deal to become a human, which is secretly part of Ursula's plan to conquer Atlantica.
She's depicted as a red-haired and blue-eyed affable teenage aunt of Ariel's with a mermaid tail who feels sorry for her and agrees to help her out entering the human world while serving as a female main antagonist of the tv special and its comic relief based on villainous mermaid Queen Nerrissa from "DreamWorks' Ruby Gillman, Teenage Kraken" who takes on a human form, disguises herself as snobbish popular new girl at Oceanside High, Chelsea Van Der Zee and tricks Ruby Gillman into helping her steal a trident from Grandmamah in order to get her revenge at Agatha Gillman for killing her fellow mermaids.
Monica Bellucci as Vanessa, Ursula's human alter ego, which she uses to sabotage her deal with Ariel.
Ian McKellen as King Triton, Ariel's strict and overprotective father and the ruler of Atlantica who is prejudiced against humans due to the death of his wife at the hands of one of them.
He's depicted as Ariel's wise and protective father and the ruler of Atlantica who treats humans with respect following the death of his wife.
Angelique Cabral as Queen Amaya, King Magnifico's wife and the queen of Rosas from "Disney's Wish" who's one of Asha's best friends and mentor and is shown to be kind and gentle towards everyone around her since she's soft-spoken. She acts as both Ariel's translator once she's mute for a while and Eric's adoptive mother and the ruler of a Carribean island kingdom as well as King Triton's easygoing girlfriend.
She makes her first crossover appearance in a tv special much like Asha who made her first appearance in the short film "Disney's Once Upon a Studio",
Ginnifer Goodwin as Judy Hopps, an optimistic young European rabbit from "Disney's Zootopia" who hails from Bunnyburrow and is a newly appointed member of the Zootopia Police Apartment, assigned to the 1st Precinct. She acts as Ariel's land animal companion and big sister mentor as well as a bunny police officer at Eric's castle despite her small size who helps her fall in love with Eric and battle against Ursula in order to find Ariel's voice so that she could talk again; she also agrees to outsmart Ursula since she's a rascally rabbit.
She makes his first crossover appearance in a tv special much like Asha who made her first appearance in the short film "Disney's Once Upon a Studio".
Katherine Von Till as Snow White, a sweet and innocent young princess from "Disney's Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs" who is forced to hide from her stepmother in the cottage of the seven dwarfs. She acts as Ariel's sole human companion and big sister mentor as well as a protector of the woodland animals with a cute high-pitched childlike voice who helps her fall in love with Eric and battle against Ursula in order to find Ariel's voice so that she could talk again; she also agrees to distract Vanessa by pulling out an axe, confront her for trying to marry Eric due to her mistaking her for the evil queen's younger twin sister and make her apologize for her villainous actions.
She makes her first crossover appearance in a tv special much like Asha who made her first appearance in the short film "Disney's Once Upon a Studio".
Michael-Leon Wooley as Louis, a friendly yet neurotic trumpet-playing alligator from "Disney's Princess and the Frog" whose dream is to join a jazz band. His name comes from the famous jazz artist and trumpeter, Louis Armstrong. Terence Blanchard did the trumpet playing for Louis. He appears as Ariel's land animal companion and the only one to be amphibious that allows him to go on land and water as well as a jazz trumpet player at Eric's castle who helps her fall in love with Eric and fight off against Ursula in order to find Ariel's voice so that she could talk again and play the music.
He makes his first crossover appearance in a tv special much like Asha who made her first appearance in the short film "Disney's Once Upon a Studio".
Teresa Gallagher as Train, a kindhearted and friendly red wooden steam locomotive with a 4-2-2-wheel arrangement and a two-wheel tender from the 1964 French-British stop-motion animated tv show "The Magic Roundabout" who has a blue funnel, dome, wheels, round cab window frames and piston rods, white drawings of a flower on the cab doors and passenger carriage doors and gold headlights on the front of the train that acts as the eyes.

Bonnie Hunt as Scuttle, a friendly female seagull and a friend of Ariel's to whom she provides accurate descriptions of any human/surface world object Ariel finds.
Her physical appearance and mannerisms are based on that of Sofia the Seagull from the 2022 live action/computer animated adaptation of "Disney's Pinocchio" that Geppetto knows who befriends Jiminy.
Additionally, Brenda Blethyn appears as Nanny, the Radcliffes' warm and motherly cook and head keeper from "Disney's One Hundred and One Dalmatians" who easily puts an end of pesky London criminal brothers Jasper & Horace who, along with Cruella De Vil, tries to steal a flock of dalmatian puppies at any cost. She acts as one of the maids in Eric's castle. Emily Coates reprises her role as Rosa, a young girl who works as a maid in Eric's castle. Corey Burton reprises his role as the voice of Culinary Quint, the most succulent palatable and robustly full-bodied chef in tout la France from the "Disney's The Lion King's Timon and Pumbaa" episode "French Fried". He acts as a tall muscular French chef and fisherman at Eric's castle who, much like Chef Louis from the original 1989 film, tries to make a food out of fishes and even crabs especially Sebestian to no avail and serves as a comic relief throughout the tv special.
Christopher Fairbank and John Dagleish reprise their roles as Hawkins and Mulligan, two of Eric's shipmates; Jude Akuwudike reprises his role as Joshua, a fisherman who discovers Ariel in her human form; and Russell Balogh and Adrian Christopher reprise their roles as two of King Triton's guards. Also appearing as the daughters of Triton's and Ariel's sisters are Kari Wahlgren as Attina, Jennifer Hale as Alana, Tara Strong as Adella, Grey Delisle as Aquata and Arista and Kate Micucci as Andrina.
Flotsam and Jetsam, Ursula's green moray eel minions appear. Auli'i Cravalho, the live-action actress of Ariel from "Disney's The Little Mermaid Live!", cameos as a market vendor who hands Ariel a fork during her tour of the kingdom. Eric's Old Sheepdog Max appears, voiced by Frank Welker who reprises his role for the first time since the original film back in 1989.
Hollywood has to stop this. Leave beloved animated features alone and come up with some original ideas for a change.
They succeeded with this one doe. 💯💯💯
Some of the shots didn’t look complete like the CGI was kinda choppy, plus Sebastian looks terrifying… but I am excited to see it

I love the part where Ariel says "Ariel is gone. I'm what remains. You didn't kill Ariel. I DID."
What a cinematic masterpiece....
We support the original cartoon Mermaid. Walt Disney Studio Cartoon. Why no european (white) character in this film Mermaid?
We evaluate that film 'Maleficent (with Aurora)' is better because those main actresses are European (White).
SOo excited for this 😍 And for the soundtrack as well 💗💗💗
Looks good. It's litreally giving me Aquaman vibes mixed with Cinderella 1997.
Is this Alien vs Predator3?
I think this looks terrible. These beloved old animated Disney movies heavily relied on their strong supporting characters (in this case Sebastian, Scuttle etc.). They added humor and warmth to the human story. Replacing them with generic CGI models lacking any true character design makes this remake look artificial and cold. Feels like a missed opportunity since the cast seems nice.
What a wow

I love that Ariel rescues the Prince, rather than needing him to rescue her
And I love the part where she says "We are gonna need a bigger boat."
Ariel rescued Eric twice in the original. He rescued her at the end only to bookend the narrative

Hopefully they go back the original book ending although I can’t see Disney having their actress standing over a prince and his wife contemplating murder.
They didn't. Ariel and Eric got their happy Ending.

Your childhood is WEAK
Yes this girl can sing beautifully but she is a terrible actor and representation of the original character. Disney you have ruined and keep ruining classic movies. Don't attempt to remake them if they can't even be in parr with your OG animations. It's because all the people who made Disney Disney are fading away or gone. Bunch of lefties running the show now it's more about inclusion than being true to their own stuff. Joke.
