The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.

Right, -- Jesus teaches, God's people are "Born-Again"- through- "Innocence" the (KEY) into Born-Again His Kingdom TRUTH Jesus Redeemed Innocence Psalm 88/ Born-Again is Only given by Christ Himself, to a person who DILIGENTLY & endless, seeks Him (Truth) & His Kingdom & all His Truths -Righteousness. THey are: 100% Willing & Obedient & Pure at heart, with Christ's Righteousness in All of thier thoughts 24/7-365 without fail, as Born-Again Empowers a person to do FAITHFULLY! They are the ones who Thessalonians reads (those who remain shall be taken to meet the lord in the air) Yes remain: those who remain =Born-again & Overcoming, by controling their "Every" thought (The Requirement for Heaven )

I'm glad I'm saved, if I wasn't I'm pretty sure I would be in depression over these bad thoughts I have. It helps me to know the fact that I'm going to heaven. It truly helps me to overcome these thoughts

If you see "Born-Again" as God's own "DIVINE" Defrag of all that you are (within) YOUR SELF, you can understand the 100% CHANGE within you, that ONLY comes from His Holy Spirit! That MUST be done within EACH person- BEFORE Jesus returns SOON- Or you leave this earth in your own death! (which ever comes first)

thats mean not our obedience but what Jesus had done through his obedience for us.... we are human always fail and failure can become a stronghold if you use your obedience or your effort to overcome every negative thought and its impossible for us to go through only through Christ obedience that we can overcome the stronghold.... Jesus did it for us and I think Apostle Paul wants us to understand to captive our thought the obedience of Jesus
Jesus had done it all Hebrew 4:15-16 and His obedience help empower us to break the power of strongholds in our thought to the obedience of Christ.

Jesus defeated satan yes! He is sentenced to lake of fire & all, who follow this world's teachings! But, he & evil influences,"still" dwell, within each person who is Not "Born-Again" & maintaining it 24/7 with thier Every thought, as Jesus command: "Overcome this world"/ Rev 2- "Jesus warns us that He knows that "Satan's seat" is still within Any person, who's Not controling their "Every" thought-by rejecting this world: (its teachings we have all been raised with since birth that's "within" our Personality, that's how our Personality is formed. It's through Influences/teachings of this world (even teachings in churches-on tv & radio,books etc :( ). Jesus warns of "Earth's Beleif System"! It's evil! I am sorry, but you are wrong, because the Biblical revision you are using is wrong in its interpretation. It is written based upon the predominant interpretation of these verses within Christendom. However, unfortunately for Christendom, they are in error.
We don't take captive our own thoughts! You don't take captive something you already have possession of.
The point of Paul's statement is what we fight against. And what is that? - the enemy taking us (our thoughts) captive - inserting thoughts of lust, murder, greediness, covetousness, etc. - not allowing our mind's thoughts of becoming captive to him and achieving this by fighting against him having control over thoughts. We recognize what thoughts are of his input and wrestle against their power, not letting them overpower us. It is the enemy that takes anything or ours captive. Without an enemy, what do we take captive, which is ours? This text is based upon an enemy and his will!
Also, I noticed you didn't include verse 6, which is very relevant and inclusive to our warfare. What Paul is saying in this verse is that when you succeed in defeating his ability to capture your thoughts by having thoughts that are obedient to Christ, we can expect him to have a “readiness to revenge” us for our disobedience to him.
