Glenda Jackson was a truly great actress, dominating on stage, screen, and television, able to cross between tragedy and comedy. I was lucky enough to see her perform on stage on a couple of occasions, she was absolutely mesmerising, with enormous power and charisma. She was one of a sadly dwindling bunch of versatile performers. I wonder how many of todays group of actors would be capable of proving themselves in such a wide variety of different mediums.
I thought she was good as QE1 in Mary, Queen of Scots (1971), though Vanessa Redgrave over-acted as Mary! Also showed another side of herself in Morecambe & Wise Show.😊
