I'm glad to see the soundtrack from Epidemic Sound worked very well with the video here! That camera setup with the sunroof pretty rad I must say. I owned a 2018 Hyundai Elantra so I can say from experience they are great cars that get amazing gas mileage. Safe travels in your new ride!
Welcome back and thanks for the tour!! I haven't really been in Medicine Hat before other than a quick trip to a mall, otherwise bypassing on the TCH. I did, however, travel the Crowsnest route and come through town that way.
Great to see you back! It's really sad how so many of these towns came into being because of the railroad but no longer have any passenger rail service, even though riding trains is so much better than driving. It would be nice to see VIA Rail be expanded with more service (it's been cut back ever since it's been created, and seems worse than Amtrak), and with modern rolling stock to replace the antiquated train cars from the 50s. Also, I was really surprised just how big that train station was for the size of that town, and also it seems like it was built on the wrong side of the tracks from downtown Medicine Hat. If they ever reopen it, they'd probably have to build a pedestrian overpass across the tracks.
The area around Medicine Hat resembles many parts of the Interior Western areas of the USA (particularly Central WA, Western ND and Eastern MT) except with Canadian businesses and restaurants. Also, the control city for the Trans-Canada EB should have been Regina and not Swift Current. Great video and welcome back!
Medicine Hat is an interesting city in the southeast part of Alberta. It is also where the Crowsnest Highway ends east as it meets the Trans-Canada Highway Main Route twice in there and Hope, BC.
So cool!
Merry Christmas!
Thanks Phil for the tour, will be looking forward to the next video. Thanks ❤️👍🇨🇦😃
Very enjoyable video, Phil! Really diggin' that old, historic railroad station as well as everything else.
thanks, there'll be a 2nd part too. Then I'm going to cover the city of Fort McLeod.

yes it used to take me 3 refills of gas to get to Calgary from Winnipeg, in the new car it only took 2.
@@TransCanadaPhil Welcome back Trans-Canada Phil. We barely missed you!
Glad to see you back! Another great video. Looking forward to seeing more!
Thanks, I'll try to get part 2 out in a week or so.
thank you for sharing this video

yeah, it does seem like the station should have been on the other side of the tracks where the downtown is built up a lot more.
The cars are from 1947 so not the 50s but close. Also, we need to get more people interested in passenger rail so it can thrive again!
@@highway2heaven91 Oh, so they're even older than I thought they were lol
@@compdude100 The late 40s was a threat. But this time, the cars really get old at all.
@@kennypalermo9071Oh yeah! Such an old car.

Phil, looking forward to the sequel!
Acme Cinematography has an update on Sand Patch.
Do yourself a favor.
Love your videos. Love the music in the video -- I find it gives me a new source of music for my writing. :)
Thanks! I've always found it's hit or miss with my soundtracks. Some people love them, others hate them :-). Thanks for coming.
@@TransCanadaPhil Was this your new car?
@@kennypalermo9071Yes, it’s a new car! Go to the credits are at 12:51.
Didn't Medicine Hat have a farm team for the Toronto Blue Jays in the 1980s?
I think that was the case.
That's unfortunate for the train situation. As long as freight trains have right of way for both CP and CN, passenger trains will never be viable.
