- First time installation of xtrons android head unit PB78ATTP in my audi tt mk2. Designed to look OEM no cutting or alterations required to housing on the dash. Very easy to install. Don't forget your stereo release keys.

Adam Palmer hows it sound through the standard TT speakers compared to the Concert original stereo? Really tempted to buy an xtron stereo for my mk2 TT.
urbanfireblade I was impressed with the quality of the sound considering it’s not a well branded name. I would say it’s up there with the rest of them. I purchased a dongle from Xtrons and now run Apple play through the device with no issues.

Wow good luck mate enjoy. I love it so many features. Not sure what your mobile contract is like but the stereo really needs WiFi hot-spot to use it to its full potential.

I just installed the PB78ATTIP from Xtrons on my 2008 TT with Bose and NAV. I was able to use the factory GPS receiver since it has the same connector.

after some more testing, the factory GPS antenna does not work . Had to use the one that came with the unit. I enjoyed the unit so far. Much better than the factory one.

Did you connect the usb cables? In forums people are using them for usb 4G dongels.

I'm also going to get one for my 2013 tts, did you need to use the additional radio adapter cable or did the standard connector work fine?

I was really looking to get this and did not expect to find a review of it. They advertise screen mirroring where you can plug in your phone and the unit will show the same thing on it as what’s on your phone. Have you tried that? How well does it work?
Have you had any trouble with it freezing? I got one and it’s constantly freezing and doesn’t restart unless I restart my car. Id like to get a replacement unit but don’t want to do it if this is a common issue.
Are you still happy with it? Does it display the radio station on the instrument cluster?
I have found unplugging the airbag light really difficult, are there any tips? It was a real fight the first time and I need to swap back.
You need it systemaktiv adapter for audio? For exaple, rears boxes!?!

Hello I've just installed a xtron unit in my TT . Just incase anyone is having a problem with sound being to quite on theirs in the settings menu ,under advance settings were you put the 126 code there is a page that says other in the list it says amp volume change it to 0 mine is great now it was set on -15 hope this helps

It's a great stereo, I've read of some people having issues but not sure on the details of which system/car it's in. For my non bose system the latest 4gb head unit works a treat. Good luck

Umiy A i bought a navigation and i tried to installed but it is not working. the lights on the buttons are working but display unit it is not working. it s black. i dont know what to do. i have a TT 8J 2008 no Bose. do i have to connect some auxiliares on the unit? (sorry for my english). i m from romania. it is possible for the unit to be broken?
Hi , i also have the same head unit but if I want to press it in the case, there is in the end a little bit of space so it doesnt fit perfectly.. And there are no cables who blocks the way.. Do u know sb about it?
What did you with the light bluw subwoofer rca?
I installed the same head unit for my TT MK2 and i found that the sound volume reduced by like 40%. I went into the equalizer app and pump up all the volume settings and it's decent when max volume but i can't go higher. Did you experience the same reduction in overall volume? I ended up adding a separate Sound Storm Labs LOPRO8 to pump up the bass but it didn't help that much. I'm waiting for the LOPRO10 to see if it's any better. Let me know if you had sound reduction if u don't mind.
Hi mate there is a hidden menu which allows you to alter certain sound settings independently . I'll do a video on it soon as it can brick the system if wrong settings are chosen.
Where can i put the aux? Also when am using the gps an playing music, the volume will automatically lower itself down. How do i change that?

Hello! I got the same stereo, mine has gone completely black, but everything works touch and the sound but the screen is completely black how to fix it?
Installed one in my Audi a4 b7 but having issues with battery drain it doesn't turn off after ignition if off 😭
Did you get any ground loop hum on this? Mine is horrific but think my BOSE amp could be on the way out? Thanks.
No mate no white noise. I have read on the forums that there seems to be interference with the bose systems and the head unit, not sure if that issue is across the board with all bose setups or just bad luck, luckily mine is a non bose system.
Did you have to use extra wiring to active rear speakers? Is the sound as per the original headunit?

Do i need to have an andriod phone to use this stereo? I currently use an Iphone, will i still be able to get spotify etc...
You can just install Spotify on the headunit itself.
If you power a hotspot on your phone your headunit can connect and you will be able to play Spotify on your headunit.
You wired it wrong. Them RCA leads don't connector together that would explain low humming. RCA out doesn't go to RCA out anyway. It's strictly for connecting amps and external screens etc. Disconnect them RCA's before you burn your amps out and it will also explain why you have no front speakers... The speaker wires are on the main connector alongside the power feed and earth etc
Hi just installed one of these in my TT....wonder if you can help with an issue i have...when i put car into reverse the stereo screen goes blank. I dont have a rear camera installed. Is there a remedy to thi do you know.? Any help appreciated. Good vid
Hi yes I had the same issue until I stumbled across a setting that enables you to disable rear view camera. I'll have a dig around the settings tomorrow and see if I can find it.

Good video mate, I’m looking at getting this soon, does Spotify and google maps work ok on here?
Don't use Spotify but I'm 100% sure it will work with a data connection. Google maps works but again need a data connection or offline maps, but I've not tried offline mode as I'm always connected to my phones data.
I know I’ll need a data connection to download all my songs but that’ll be the only time o should need it I’d assume? Yeah when I need google maps I’ll use my mobile data for that. Thanks mate 👍
@@danbarnes7138 yes should be fine once songs are downloaded on the head unit or in an sdcard. Works fine like that on mine when I use amazon music.
I confirm Spotify works online with the downloaded songs, just like a phone
I have the same head unit in my TT but even with the loudness button turned on I find it doesn't seem to go particularly that loud even at full volume 😕 is there a fix for this?
I had this issue, do you have the Bose sound system? If so did you remember to wire in the additional amp? I had wired mine in but forgot to solder the 12V power, the sound was only playing through the dash speaker initially but was sorted once I found the issue

@@mmp_4477 hi bud, yes all my speakers work when using the fader. Front, rear, left, right etc. Just my drivers door base speaker is out. Not sure if faulty speaker or amp, I've not had a chance to investigate it yet. Will be in a future video 👍🏻

hey does your unit sits flush at the bottom of the unit and sides ?
Hi yes it does on the sides and top. It sits slightly proud along the bottom but not even 1mm.

No mate I just done the GPS. I didn't get the dab dongle. I've no idea about the pilar sorry.

Hi ged, yes for me it's been brilliant I can't fault it. I can't comment on older model units or for cars with bose systems as these seem to have issues but for my personal install its been great.
I’m looking at he same unit. Where did you finally fit the GPS unit. Did you remove the glove box and refit or is it in the same position from the video?
@@gedblezard5213 same position as the install bud. there is a bundled gps app with the headunit preloaded which shows good gps single from 10+ satellites. but im not able to use google maps or waze without being connected to my phones hotspot. so these navi apps wont work with just the gps alone i dont know why.
I think you should be able to make the map offline in google maps and it should then work. My father in law has a Citroen c3 which works that way. Have a look in google map app to see about offline maps. Will let you know when I get mine.

Hi Ivan, I actually am really impressed with the sound quality compared to the standard system. It's a non bose system from what I've read those that have the bose version and install this head unit get a faint hissing noise but it's great on my setup. Only issue I have is the voice in waze is very low compared to radio level, hoping to play about with the sound levels in the settings this weekend and find a setting that works for me.

BlackMarvellous I’m having similar issues. I do get sound but it’s really faint and poor quality. Mines a non-Bose system. Do you know what cable was installed? I booked mine into a local audio shop but they blamed it on cheap Chinese quality and advised a different head unit!

Got the PB78ATTIP with no audio using streaming apps (youtube, spotify, deezer...) and no Carplay audio. I only get sound when I listen to normal radio or via bluetooth.... help :(
Update: Changed the Canbus to 56 (inside factory settings, code:126). Now it works :)
