I’m totally comfortable with both things being true. Love Demar as an individual and as a great player in his own way, but he isn’t the guy to pay long term. And, unless we want another .500 season, he isn’t the guy to pay short term either.

My ideal for the bulls is they need to trade vuc for cap and use a money ball strategy. If we can get a lottery 6'10"-7'0 footer then great but if not we need to go more athletic and bigger. Andre needs to start as well

AK allowed Vucevic to reach UFA without moving him at trade deadlines and as a result, re-sign him to a 3yr/60 million contract @ 34 years age, making him basically unmoveable.
Signs LaVine to an unmoveable contract.
AK got himself stuck in the same predicament with Demar as he did with Vooch…all while stubbornly believing what all of the NBA considered and knew was a poorly constructed team. And please don’t make Lonzo’s injury an excuse for all of this.
Naw man, AK is the problem. Ownership wouldn’t give him any more money to waste away on a team that couldn’t get out of the play-in…and I wouldn’t give that FO another dime until they clean up the mess they made.

That’s my guy but he’s being realistic. I’d rather him be realistic than to live in denial about the situation. He knows that they are more likely to resign Derozan but at the same time I do believe he would rather keep Derozan over Lavine… Somebody tell me what is Jones doing and where is he at since we let him walk? He’s been balling all year and is in the damn finals as a starter at times during the Mavs run. I wonder what Lavine will do if he lands on a playoff team… In fact, I know what he will do because it’s majority of playoff teams that’s interested in him but don’t want to give up their key players to get him. Ignore the narrative around Zach and see what the other teams see. Bulls are about to get finessed.
@@lilbfrom094princeton8 it's hard for our front office to find a deal that suits with team and also valuable enough, Lavine contract is a big problem to match his contract and his injury is also a problem, so we have to wait the result from his rehab to see "can he still conduct just like before he got injure" then other contender teams would consider to send deals to the Bulls. And I agree the Bulls will likely to resign Demar, after his performace this season and also with our salary cap situation, not resigning him cost us more than anything. I think the Bulls could consider a sign and trade with Drummond or Craig, both of them are valuable piece for any contending team, talking about is still confused why The Bulls front office decided not to trade Drummond on the trade deadline, terrible decision by AK and his team again.

The entire front office and Billy needs to be on the hot seat.
Drafting a Rebounding Two Way Center / PF that can possibly stretch the floor.
Sign and trade Derozan
Sign Williams
Trading everyone whose name isn’t White, Caruso or Vuc or Williams.
Package up a deal and trade for PG Jose Alvarado (NOLA) and Herb Jones (NOLA) and move him to the 3. Herb is a 3&D SF that is First Team All Defense. He would be the second All Defensive player on the roster. Jose is also a 3&D defensive PG who will provide shooting… A need that the Bulls should address given that Zach is the team’s best shooter and scorer.
Trade for Mitchell Robinson (NYK)
Somehow sign Free Agent PG Tyus Jones.
This solves the Bulls defensive drop off, rim protection, size, wing snd PG issues.
Second option for a package trade will involve the Spurs… TBC
Get rid of Zack,Vuch,Williams,Craig and Carter.

Roster fillers… That’s the easy part out of all of this. It’s the core, our best shooter Lavine, his plus minus on the floor alongside Vuc, contracts, shooting, size, rim protection and PG is what the problem.
I agree with everything you said here except keeping Vooch. It just seems to me that he's checked out of the Bulls this season. He was outplayed multiple times by non-starting centers, not because of lack of skill, but because of lack of effort. Hopefully that changes next season, but that's where I'm at with Vooch. Yep, there may be no options for trading him but I just want him gone (based on how I saw his performance this season).
Another thing to consider, if Demar leaves for money and a winning team, I guarantee you Vooch will be requesting a trade before game 20 of upcoming season. I would bring LaVine back to start the season to show he’s healthy, let him ball out first couple months to build up interest in him and then trade him either before or at the trade deadline. And trade Vooch this offseason to a team with cap-space even if you have to include a pick or player.
Need to enjoy your summer. The team is not going to change. Life short its not worth it ........
Ideally, I would like the Bulls to trade Lavine, Resign Demar or if he walks recoup assets for him. At pick 11 either draft a big (Zach Edey) or an athletic wing.

My ideal offseason
1. Jerry sells the team to someone who is willing to spend money, who cares about us chicago fans, and I think someone who's a chicago native.
2. We trade up with the rockets in a sign n trade where we get the 3rd pick and a 2025 1st and cam Whitmore. And the rockets get damar, the 3rd pick & caruso.
3. We trade lavine to the magic for fuiltz, Issac, a 2025 1st and a 2nd.
4. Trade vuc & a 2nd to the grizzlies for their pick and Brandon Clarke.
5. We draft Donavan clingin & ja'kobe Walter.
6. We waive and stretch lonzo ball.
7. Billy Donavan is moved into the front office, and wes unseld Jr becomes the new head coach.

We can’t trade Zach Lavine for nothing. He’s more valuable on the team and it’s not even like we gain cap space in this scenario.
I'm no expert but to me...
1) Its dumb to take a huge hit by trading Lavine, somehow make him happy and keep him (highly unlikely)
2) Time to move on from Demar and Vooch
3) Get a certain UConn Center in the draft and resign Drummond to mentor
4) KEEP CARUSO!
5) Add a shooter that doesn't sit on the bench unused by Billy

To me the video backdrop accompanying your initial commentary, with De Mar seemingly 'coaching' Zach, speaks volumes. Nowhere in that video do I see Zach enthusiasm. His body language speaks of: 'yeah right yeah right, why are you talking to me'. Of course, I could be wrong, but I only see Zach arrogance. So, the best off-season I would like to see is what your saying - get rid of that guy. Yeah, I know no team wants him. So we're stuck with mediocrity until we can get rid of him and get past the headwinds you point out at the start of this podcast. Aren't we lucky.

I think trying to be competitive automatically puts us in a catch 22 where having a good offseason is impossible.
Because if we want to be competitive we have to re-sign DeMar, it looks like we can’t do that for less than 40M, and to me signing DeRozan for 40M is an automatic failure because it’ll be impossible to put a roster around him that is better than last season’s was.
After watching the whole video, with all do respect Jamaal, love all your vids but I think this is close to the worst way the offseason could shake out minus signing Nic Claxton

1. Trade up in the draft by trading Vooch for top 3 pick & a piece, draft Donovan Klingan
2. Draft Knecht at 11(likely wont be on the board tho..)
3. Keep rest of core with intention to trade Zach next deadline or offseason.
4. Resign Drummond on minimum
5. Start Klingan & play Knecht behind Zach n Demar. Have Drummond as back up Centre

I honestly think the Bulls need to trade Lavine for a younger player
Try to sign and trade derozan for a younger player and maybe a heavily protected 1st
Try to move Caruso for a few protected 1sts
Then draft a big in the upcoming draft
ie. Buzelis or Edey
Maybe move up to get their guy if need be
Resign Pat and Drummond
Then try a soft rebuild with Coby ,Ayo and our new rookie big man leading our team
We should've done ALL of that over the past two years when their value was highest. Levine has negative value now, DDR can just leave (and doesn't have the value he had 2 years ago). Caruso is still extremely valuable but this front office doesn't move anybody. If we had a competent front office+owner, we wouldn't be in this mess.

-Mid season trade AC. I love him but he is wasting away here and is our best asset.

We gotta part from Demar. Yes, he's a playmaker but he's not a dog nor is he getting any younger.
More folks have to have faith in Demar man. Three years and his mentorship is leading the team as it stands into their prime. Ayo, Coby, Pat.. they are gonna be 25-26. Why keep lavine when he isn’t happy and has no leadership skills? Ideally Vuc, Carter and even Craig plus Zach should all be on the table. Only a couple pieces away right now. A big that plays d and gets offensive rebounds, and a star that’s willing to take on the mantle of building up a team that can play on both sides of the court, consistently without their ego being affected.
That’s the narrative around Lavine… It doesn’t mean that it’s true. They said the same shit about Jones once upon a time and he recently called out the Bulls by the way. We’re dealing with too many idiots. Jones is balling all the to the finals right now and we let him walk. He isn’t HALF of the player Lavine is… What the hell do people think Lavine is going to do if he lands on a playoff team?

If Zach had any sort of leadership skills at all, I’d say it’s worth dealing with his spotty defense and inability to not let the noise affect his game. But let’s be real AC is the dude in the locker room doing that work. You trade lavine and JC or Craig or both (Vuc if we were lucky) and get hardbody defensively minded big like Claxton who’s young and a dawg and the bulls are cooking. Our season was a let down. But AC improved, Coby went psycho, and Ayo arguably could have been in talks for MIP. Time for a fresh start for Zach and Bulls. Guaranteed both parties do better.

I don’t trust this team trading our “stars”. I remember the bulls trading Rose (and Justin Holiday) for Calderon, Jerian Grant & RoLo…… if I were the Bulls I’d try to trade Pat to OKC for a player & lottery picks. That would be a nice start.

My true ideal situation is The Reinsdorf family sells to a group that cares about basketball, and they fire Billy Donovan and give AKME the green light to build a real squad.
That said, ideally we offload Zach and Vooch somehow for Jalen Duren, cost cutting role players, and picks. Sign and send DeMar out west to a team that has a shot at winning a ring for real. He deserves that. Get an extra pick for 2025 and 2026. Re-sign P. Dub to a team friendly deal and give the keys to Coby and P. Dub as the budding duo. Tank for 24/25, hopefully it's our turn for lottery luck to grab Cooper Flagg. Have a semi decent year and then get Bryce James in 2026.
Realistically speaking, Trade Zach and Vooch for a loss, but whatever. Re-sign DeMar and P. Will to remain out of position as a 4. Draft the best possible prospect, have a worse than expected, downright shitty season. Land the top draft pick and take Cooper Flagg.

I think no matter what the team offers DeMar he isn't staying. If it was a matter of money he would already be signed. If it was a matter of years they would have figured it out by now. He clearly knows it's a losing situation he likely is just waiting to see what the Clippers do with PG before he makes things official. I also think that the major reason the Bulls won't go full tear down is because what would that even mean? They want to trade Zach, DeMar is leaving on his own more than likely, and Vooch is stuck here no matter what. So beyond AC and maybe Lonzo who could even be moved a that point that would count as "tearing it down?" Coby and Ayo? That'd be fucking stupid. PWill? Either he gets our offer or he's gone. We move zach for maybe a first and a young player that a team just doesn't have use for. I'm not the biggest fan of giddey, but the thunder have picks we want and hes still very young, and he has shown upside. He genuinely doesn't have a role on that team and the thunder could absolutely use an off ball offensive option to pair with SGA and Williams. I think likely as you have said in the past, Zach will be moved at the trade deadline in hopes of roping a bigger deal.
We sign Demar like you said to something hopefully team friendly. We know Demar isn't going anywhere, so I hope we can have as little impact to our cap as possible.
Assuming we do move zach, make a massive push for claxton. I really doubt we will get him, but he fits the mold of exactly what this team needs.
Ayo takes a coby like jump. Maybe this isn't realistic, but damn many portions of this last season sure felt like the 2023 season of coby where it was clear he made many big jumps in his game, just hadn't taken that full next step until 24. I think Ayo is going to make a very real jump in his ability and I really do believe he will average around 17ppg with great defense.
As for pat, idk man every year I feel less and less hopeful for him. I wanna be wrong so bad, but I really am starting to think I'm not.
Ideal would be an offseason like the Bears just had. What I mean is one where the owners and managers make moves that show they give a crap about the fans. Because honestly, like the bears did years ago and have been working towards fixing recently, I'm just gonna stop watching Bulls games.

I'd like them to grab Isiah collier or if they go center kel'el ware or yves missi (his comp is nic claxton). My goal for the Bulls is to get out of cap he'll. I co-sign this! Jones has been balling all year and he’s in the finals. Jones isn’t HALF the player who Lavine is and you see where you could end up being in the right situation. Jones also had a lot to say about the Bulls mismanagement of him recently too. He said that they didn’t know what to do with him and was holding him back basically.
