@@MajesticPinball I was pleased to see a Fireball Classic, as I had one then and still have it now, but I was hoping for a Black Hole. I have a lot of favourites from the em and solid state Gottlieb machines when everyone was migrating to Space Invaders and Galaxian. I’m not a tilter, and enjoy the game for their simplicity and lousy at hitting targets when I need to 🤣
@@lesvogiatzakis3313 I love the early 80s Gottliebs too. I just picked up a black hole a few weeks back, needs a lot of work but looking forward to featuring it on the channel sometime soon (hopefully!) 😁
Was just there. Very cool place. I’m mid-fifties and what a nostalgic trip back to my childhood and long before. Funhouse pinball was not working though…😩 still worth dropping 20$ in quarters.
I only live 2 miles away from there, and I have not gone. I did go to the one on Tropicana. Pinball machines are hard to fix, and not many people can fix any electronic/mechanical things anymore. I will go there soon to check it out.
@@deanlucero64 It's definitely worth a visit especially if you're local, I had a good time while there. Would love to move to Vegas myself I love it there!
As for the "50-60 percent of the pinballs are down" issue, I've been to a few places where they got a lot of pinball machines, and they all had this issue. We're talking about complex machines that have been sitting around for up to nearly eighty years years (if we're talking Humpty Dumpty), so lots of wiring and other issues pop up. I know of a couple of places that keep their machines running, one is still quite new and the other has a whole group of people they train up all the time.
Last time I was there, at least half of the machines were not even turned on and the ones that were, most of those were not working properly! This could be an amazing place if the owners would repair the games and do a better job of maintaining the machines and displaying them in a better way!
@@sbanks4421 Totally agree, unfortunately was in a similar state during my visit. Still had a good time there with what was available to play though. Thanks for watching 😊
@@MajesticPinball That's what I like about Past Times Arcade in Girard, OH. Not only is the collection better (400+), but the machines are kept in pristine condition. Most issues are fixed within the hour with any machine, and if they can't, they have machines on standby in the back that they can roll out to replace while they fix the issue.
@@brianhall7639 Yeah from what I've heard their tec regime seems pretty incredible, I saw a video of all their games in storage out the back and it blew my mind! Thanks for watching! 😊
Having visited the old location, (which always seemed like it could be settled into urban Los Angeles and look about the same) I can totally understand how the workshop and storage areas overran the gaming zone. It must be a nearly impossible task to find the dedicated parts to all these antiques and ask that the public try and not abuse them, regardless the amount of use they must still be undertaking. I might dare say that a far superior choice would be to create a replica facility that can aim to recreate these machines with modern parts and offer those to the public while archiving the originals in an off location site. For the goal of trying to keep these classics going in a daily operation in Las Vegas may be well over the staff's heads. After all, the old place was somewhat camouflaged in a dumpy building with a fabric, 'temporary' sign in place. And it kind of looked abandoned from the outside. But this place... I mean... is that PINBALL sign five or six stories tall? Easily the cheapest place in all Vegas for an all day session of gaming. Surely the excessive public interest has outmatched their means.
I think you summed up the situation perfectly here. I visited the old location on a previous trip to Las Vegas and although it certainly had a strange charm to it I remember the condition of the games being significantly better than what they can offer now. It's all easily sorted they just need a full-time team of tecs on hand but Tim doesn't seem to want to share the workload which is a huge shame.
I visited a year ago and was impressed by the sign, building, and collection. However, like you, I was very disappointed to see many games turned off. Given its world-famous status in Vegas, I expected better maintenance.
I was lucky to be able to play Pinball Circus the first time I visited. But it's been off every other time. I figure there's a good chance to put a lot of time into a rare pinball machine that works alright, and that'll have to be enough.
@@nothingnew765 It's a pretty cool game, played it on my initial visit to their last location so wasn't too disappointed not to get to play it this time round. Don't seem strange that don't seem too interested in keeping it running when it has such a big draw.

Absolutely hilarious to see how many machines are STILL OFF. Tim can’t get anything right in that place. He should be removed from “running” everything. I have no idea who even put him in charge in the first place. 😂
@@MajesticPinball For sure. Although, that might not even be enough, to be honest. Same as it ever was with that place.
