Great video as always. You've taught me so much and my 98 s70 is getting a second life.
I need to replace the heater core hoses and i was wondering if you had a video just tackling that?
Man those pipes were shiny !
@@RobertDIY I souped er up with some nice shiny hose clamps and red hoses
excellent video. Got one question though ? are there any seals needed on the aluminium pipes, the part that goes into the coupling ? Or are the seals pre installed in the coupling on both the engine side and the cabin side ?
This is a 2-3 beers kind of job if Murphy does not come to visit you!
What are the chances of the junction breaking if i just want to replace the hoses?
@RobertDIY hmmm, mabye, I'm better off waiting to replace them once they start leaking because I do not have coupling on hand. Just the hoses, the original hoses are still somewhat soft and I have the 4 main ones replaced already and no leaks
That's how Volvo sells heater cores , with fingers crossed that the part will break trying to remove it ....
Sometimes I forget TH-cam exists
@@RobertDIY hey Robert, uh the Volvo don’t turn on and I think I have all the components required to turn ‘er on do you have any idea what may be the cause of that kind of issue
Right hand drive car I have is a bitch to get bulkhead in. Might have to remove or monouver more stuff to refit..
@@RobertDIY actually just had another go and got it in. I just have to put the heater hard lines in after I get the new heater core and o rings. Thanks for sharing your videos. Changed/fixed so many things on this Volvo 850 T5 wagon,it will send me broke but be like a new car for my son. 👍😊
If you mess with the pipes, be prepared to replace the 23+ year old firewall junction.
@@RobertDIY that's what I broke when I was pulling engine and gearbox out! So ended up getting new heater pipes from engine, new bulkhead, and now getting new heater matrix. New system all round.
This is by far the worst job I’ve ever done on any car. Why the fuck cant they make a little bit more space for that junction!?
once again robert you are the only thing stopping me from losing my mind with my 850. thanks man
You are welcome
