Thee directors did it on purpose and it's so predictable. Like who would talk and sleep with a snake like a human. Bringing some anime fantasy logic to irl is really cringe.

觉得杨幂的发型不适合她的脸型，还可以再漂亮些， 爱之深呀。
要做到素素和白淺很相似又要不同, 夜華說白淺好像素素,但比素素美麗得多。所以素素和白淺都要用同一個人演, 這要看楊冪的演技,化妝和造型了
只是觉得几个造型都没有很好的对待幂幂的大奔儿喽头，哈哈

It takes a long time for Yan Zhi to eventually find out that Si Yin was a woman instead and yet she knew her brother Li Jing (Vin Zhang) had romantic feeling for "him" ie Si Yin/Bai Qian. I am surprised that the Chinese censor allowed that to happen over so many episodes. So Yan Zhi thought her brother had feeling for a young man instead for at least over half of the episodes. Yes, I have watched this more than once.
The censors actually let a lot pass in this one, after this many dramas got more daring leading to a crackdown on BL novel adaptations. The book was far more explicit, for example, Li Jing didn't find out til much later that Si Yin was a woman, he also thought he was in love with a man.

I finally broke down and watched The Untamed just before coming back to watch certain favorite segments of EL again.
It was overall well filmed, acted and Ok. But as I'm past 30 I'm not a swooning fan girl of it.
I looked at the 2 main characters as only soulmate friends and nothing more like the novel has. Read the novel writer was put in jail too because of the BL in it.
It wasn't until I watched that, that I really thought 'deep' about the above in this series. LOL
That and the newest big strict crack down rules in China in the last 12 months on the entertainment business there - TV, films, music, the arts, ect. Also new stricter rules for the modeling/advertising. They are actually going backwards in human progress now. CCP wants no Hong Kong or Taiwan actors/actresses used anymore. That leaves a lot of them out. And no more 'Idol Sissy Men/characters' created in entertainment, modeling and social media. As well as people being 'blackout cancelled' there by the gov if they make them mad. Not jail time but you just can't find what they have done ie acting roles, social media, etc as it is removed everywhere. Even YT Chinese Entertainment channels like Tencent Video are deleting info on them.
That was the word 'sissy' the Chinese government used in the internet news articles I read, not mine.
