Just wanted to pass along I just completed my install of the BESTOP TREKTOP NX. The Install was extremely easy. But all the credit goes to the very intuitive video that you provided. BESTOP should consider using your tutorial for their site. Your detailed explanation was key. Thanks!
Fitted the Bestop Trektop NX this weekend and this install video was perfect. Watched it several times just to be sure and then worked through the video one step at a time during installation. Thank you, you made the install painless, great job!!
I used this video instead of the provided instructions. Thank you so much. It was great. Winter is coming and I have to take it off now. How about a step by step removal with any tips you may have ????
At about 08:29 you show a strap that is used to keep the center bow tight. But what is it that you are hooking the other end to. Is that left exposed just like that?
+Mark Aquiningoc, at 08:29 it shows the strap that secures the center bow by hooking into the hole that had the screw in cup style handles that secured the factory hard top. That hole is exposed because you will no longer use this handle with this top. Hope this answered your question.
Hi guys, great video. Quick question though: I just put my trektop NK on my 2007 4 door and I did everything like the video, got everything to fit at the back, zipped all of the windows up and then went to go latch the front. It was extremely tight and I couldnt even get the soft top latches on the metal loops on the jeep. There seems to be a gap between the top of the windshield and the soft top. It was very cold out so Im hoping it just has to stretch and warm up for a couple days in the sun or am I doing something wrong?
Kristen Borton yes!! My issue was that the top rear bar was not in the bracket, i had to check step by step until i found my mistake, because even if it was the first time it was as easy as on the video after i fixed it :) but if you keep having trouble let me know maybe i can help, during the checked i found a couple more minimal mistakes, good luck :)
does the sides around the doors clip under like the stock top? I seen a top that sticks on by velcro, not happy with that. Summer tops just sit, does this clip in under for tight fit?

Hi. i just bought a 2016 jeep JK hard top version. i will install a trek top NX soon. but i have a question. my plan is soft top for summer and hard top for winter so once i install all parts for soft top, still i keep all those parts on my JK to replace original hard top or i have to remove them all for hard top? please let me know.. your answer would be appreciated. thanks.
For the Hardtop to work the bows, door surrounds w/ cables, top, header, and rear bar would have to be removed. The top roll bar brackets can stay during the change making it about a half hour task for two people.
The new Bestop or factory Header is held on with 3/8" screws and depending on what year and soft top application the new ones will have a 4 screw header base to screw the new header knob into on the Bestop Header Bar.
Can you take this thing off and stow it inside to get the true open air ride experience like the original top provides? The sunrider feature is great. But what if you want the front and back open? I'm sure you can take this off but if you have to leave it home and get caught in a storm you're screwed. Lol. Anyone have this and use as I described?
I have seen people use this in many different ways. It comes down to how much time you are willing to put into taking the top on and off. You can certainly just lose the windows and have the bikini top or as some viewers have shown you can even roll up the top to give you an open ride. Here is a link of one reviewer. th-cam.com/video/ppVAXnYsQ-g/w-d-xo.html
Havoc Offroad thanks. I've seen some of the videos. It's not so much the time as it is if you can stow this thing in the back. Not a fan of the support bars either. Great looking top though.
Raise your hand if you used this video three years later! Got my top installed last night and used this video for the entire process thanks again!!
Guarantee the folks at BESTOP are watching and taking notes. Awesome video!

I had the same issue, did you find out what was causing that issue?
When installing the tailgate bar im having a hard time its not as easy as in the video, it wont stay in place at all it pops out immediately, any tip?

+Vic L. Thanks for that compliment!
i really want that top for my jeep

It fits like the OE and pops under the tub of the bed so there is no Velcro and it makes a tight fit! Thanks for the question!
Thank you
+Garage Guy You're welcome! We appreciate the feedback!
where can buy that top?

Can the hardware stay on when switching to a hard top???
MUD KING: Unfortunately no. All the hardware would have to be removed if re-installing your factory hard top.
how do you attach cloth to header
The new Bestop or factory Header is held on with 3/8" screws and depending on what year and soft top application the new ones will have a 4 screw header base to screw the new header knob into on the Bestop Header Bar.
😍😍😍
