Andy does shine through thanks to those thousands and thousands of hours that he's spent honing his craft and his sound. There's no one like him on earth as a guitar player because of that. It's ok if you don't like his playing, but the whole "too technical" bs is ridiculous, especially in the instrumental guitar music scene.

I love your comments, first time I've watched you and you are on point. You are well informed and and love how you put the bit about being to focused on the notes, everyone has their own sound it's created through passion, personality, and memories and when you find that balance that place that in the moment and just letting it all ring out is what it's all about.

I know what you mean. Andy is more 'stiff' actionwise and tonewise compare to angel. 2 years later, andy's tone has evolved. He sounds more 'alive' now. I know i'm late, but you can react to his newer stuff like 'satellites'

Check out Angel Vivaldi in his playhtrough of ". _ _ _ _" (that's literally the song name, in Morse code). More an emotional track than you typically see from Angel. Or his video of Crystal Planet, you can tell he's always just trying to have fun.

angel is to drama as andy james is to scifi on this song. But if you listen to their solo albums,Andy is much more melodic and has more soul than Angel's productions.this comes from a person who has been playing guitar for a long time.cheers!

*"All hail Z, all hail her legions. All, hail her greatness. All hail to the new headphones. And to her new constructed temple!"*
"And all hail her hair, I love it!"
    EPIC reaction.
1:36 yeah, he put a lot of himself into what he's doing...
I get what you're saying of "too on point" ;) Yes, I tend to feel like that lots of times... When something is "too precise". Like with Marty Friedman who played tornado of souls live in 92. The solo was not 100% precise, but it came out even better than the album. Well, the solo itself is one of the best of all time in my opinion, but that's a different story :)

damn your reactions make me angry :D Andys playing and licks are so awesome!!. i especially like that he does _not_ overemphasize the 'emotional playing' too much.

I'd love, love, love for you to react to the live version of Liquid Tension Experiment - Acid Rain (Live in LA). You missed out on one of the most face melting solos ever. Andy James and Angel Vivaldi are great but when you into John Petrucci's library, no-one really matters. Get well soon chick!

Since you love guitar. Have you ever heard of Eddie Van Halen's guitar solo Eruptions from the early 80's?This video I think is the best esecially being in front of an audience. He is amazing considering the time he played in........th-cam.com/video/L9r-NxuYszg/w-d-xo.html

Didn't even know that was AJ's sig guitar. But personally, I think his tone lacks some low end and feels more polished or even sharp as opposed to Angel's tone which feels warmer and more rounded out with a more prevalent low end to compliment the warmness. Not sure if a Gibson would really add to the tone more so than Andy choosing better notes. Changing guitars can help I suppose (I'm not an expert on guitars and how they can change your tone) but I think the real emotion comes from note choices. Idk, you seem way more opinionated/better informed on tones. But that's just my two cents.
