Soo yeah, Shidou is based on Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who is known for his outrageous goals. He just retired last year (his age is around 40 at that time and he still scores). The big bang drive is based on Zlatan's goal vs England. I recommend you to watch it or maybe react to it before the next episode. It is really a carbon copy (from the keeper, Joe Hart, all the way to the goal) and Zlatan won the Puskas award (best goal of the year) that year due to this goal, and if I am not mistaken he made Shidou's first goal as well.
He is known as one of the best strikers ever and probably the best Swedish player ever. And he has an extreme ego to show as well, as he is often referred to as the lion and the king (both attributed to Barou, but Barou is based on someone else). However when he talks about his past, confidence, or best players, you can also feel the truth to it. I recommend you to watch his interview with Piers Morgan, especially about how he grew up. With his mentality, it is no wonder he is prolific.
They're playing to the end of the game, usually exhibition matches (friendlies) are only 90 mins, sometimes they have extra time if they are tied or penalties (whether after extra time or directly) to give a trophy, but usualy it is the 90. In the league, if they are tied, each will only get 1 point, if a team wins, they get 3 points. The extra minutes at the end of the half is considered injury time, where the officials (referees, linesmen. If I am not mistaken the 4th official will give the clock to show the injury time) that compensates for the time taken for injuries, substitutes, and so on.
Barou's chop dribble is the Ronaldo chop, a skill Cristiano Ronaldo does a lot especially when he was young.
La Croqueta is a skill usually done by Spanish midfielder Iniesta. And yeap another commentator also pointed out how Yukimiya's street style playing is nostalgic of the player he is based on (Edgar Davids)
Also one special detail coach, around 25:38, when Yuki was about to take the shot, you can see Aiku in the background running to the place that he gambled on protecting the goal with
So cool to know the real world person characters are based off of. 40 years old! Awesome!
@ElevateYourPowerLevel9000 true, he is amazing he was around 30+ when he joined the club I support, and people say he was finished and the English league is more physical. He scored above 10 goals in around 20+ games in the league and also scored two goals in a cup final, one of it a last minute winner. He then tore his ACL but came back only around 6-7 months later, then he went to LA and scored a long range goal on his first game xD
holy yap

Isagi's "make us win you four-eyed schmuck" might be my favorite moment of his in the series. He's not there to secure a future, he's there to *win*, and Ego's "we've already won" speech is an insult to everything the Blue Lock program instilled in them.
Do you think Ego said that because he's just speaking honestly, or was it another way to poke at their egos to make them play even harder?
@@ElevateYourPowerLevel9000definitely a way to poke their egos hahaha he said it himself. He just didn’t expect it to work so well as it did
They expand this concept of wanting to win later in the manga.
@@ElevateYourPowerLevel9000to
Play even harder no doubt. But there is still truth to what he said
@@ElevateYourPowerLevel9000 despite his statement holding truth, he said that solely to poke their ego, albeit he didn't expect it to be as effective as it was.
Shidou has a lot more to his story than you think coach. He’s actually an introvert off the field and isolates himself from others. Like he says, soccer is his only outlet. Also who is your favorite character as of now?
What I love about Shidou is that he shown many time that he actually value strength above all and love rivalities (except Rin because he show no fun playing so he ain't a fun rival).
He praised Isagi for stealing him the ball, Yukimiya for dribbling past him and Karasu for totally toying with him in physical play. It's like the total opposite of insecurity, he knows he's the best so he never feel bad while he get beaten, he know it ain't going to last
11:53 that swift look says so much
ibrahimovic exact goal as shidou irl check it out. but like 10 years ago
so cool! I have to find that clip
@@ElevateYourPowerLevel9000 th-cam.com/video/RM_5tJncHww/w-d-xo.html&ab_channel=GOAL almost shot by shot it's the same scene, except the flashy wings and the slow motion effect, Zlatan beast mode: on!
18:14 There used to be 3 substitution, now it is up to 5, however, you only have 3 windows to change players. If you change 4 players in 3 different windows, then you can not change the 5th player.
the only exception is that you can make substitution before the beginning of the 2nd half without taking a window.
This could be harder because , if you used all 3 windows and one player gets injured, you cannot substitute that player.
Shidou is absolutely wild 😮💨🔥
oh yeaaa
Bro is just 2 episodes away from the PEAK 🗣🗣
Even if i love Ego speech, what about Anri-chan?? She create the Blue Lock proyect and hired Ego to help her win the World Cup. This is her dream too.
The skill of the glasses guy is 1v1 dribbling, similar to Bachira, but a different style, relying more on phisicality and explosiveness of changing direction while Bachira relies more on creativity, technical dribbles and inspiration
continue doing those funny poses in the thumbnails, its really nice!
You should definitely react to Hajime no Ippo after blue lock, its top 3 best sports anime imo and its about boxing and goes very deep into the sport
I think from now on the anime really catches up coach🔥can’t wait for you to see episode 14, it was a masterpiece
Both my favourite shidou and one of my favourite Isagi moments in this episode. First time we get to see Isagis ego put into words.
The fact that Shidou didn't know about the Flow State, because he was in solitary confinement when Ego explained it to the rest of the players. Yet was the first one to enter it, is crazy. It came to him naturally by just playing the hardest he's ever known, thanks to Sae unlocking his potential, reminding me of the how they get in the Zone in Kuroko no Basket, he's literally a natural.
BIGU BANGU DRIVE 🗣🔥
Finally my broke ahh can watch this
I recommend watching the 2 last episodes together
Thanks for letting me know. Unfortunately I had already recorded my reaction to both episodes a couple of weeks ago, so they'll be released as separate episodes.
Hey coach, have you considered watching hajime no ippo? Its another sports anime
People talk about their Blue Lock ships, or BL BL lol, mine is Shidou and Sae. Barou's inclusion in the match was something I was looking forward to from the start, and I love how it was adapted. Also interesting to note, supplementary material tells us that Barou (who is currently 18), and Aiku (who is currently 19) were previously opponents a couple of years earlier in their high school career at nationals.
Definitely Brazilian soccer players. They have beautiful dribbler and skill player
