Nine doesn't believe people are inherently bad. He believes he doesn't owe anyone anything. To me he's like a wandering warrior that travels through a town being attacked by bandits. The warrior asked the bandits for safe passage but the bandits refused and attacked the warrior. So the warrior dispatched the bandits, saving the towns folk. The towns folk thanked the warrior calling him their hero. But the warrior said he didn't come there to save anyone. He's only wanted safe passage but the bandits were in the way. Nine doesn't think ill of anyone. He's just so self sufficient that he doesn't need anyone.
Man you phrased it perfectly! I love his logical no nonsense attitude. A lot of edgy characters just get randomly offended to create conflict but I like how nine pays attention to context, like when he gets triggered and attacks Sonic when he calls him “tails,” but after he learns of Sonics background we don’t see him get angry about it again because he understands tails isn’t an insult, just how Sonic knew him. I also love how he doesn’t feel sorry for himself. What I hate about token edgy characters is that they always seem to be moaning about horrible their life was ohhh pity me getting all broody for no reason. I like how the nines only dramatic moment was when he was fighting sonic, which made sense since he was triggered, but other than when he mentions wanting to make a new world, he doesnt randomly go into monologues about how awful his life is which is such a breath of fresh air for me. I also like how he doesn’t let his emotions take priority. It’s good how in society we’re learning to be more in tune with our emotions, but I feel like a lot of media uses it to justify certain actions that are just wrong so I also love seeing nine act on what’s best in the moment rather than what he personally feels

The fact that he grew attached to sonic so quickly despite everything is heartbreakingingly wholesome. Plus, he's...very hard to read. Which is a good thing. I cannot wait to see where the writers take his arc next. I wouldn't mind him becoming a potential antagonist because honestly? He deserves it.

It just feels lazy to me to make the troubled kid the villain. At worst I think he’ll be some kind of temporary anti hero. He clearly doesn’t want to help the chaos council, and if he does it’s only because he was forced to, but he’s not on the friendliest terms with Sonic at the moment. We might also get an episode of sonic trying to make up for leaving him behind and nine just trying to get him to go away. It’s clearly shown nine thinks Sonic abandoned him on purpose, but I can’t see nine as wanting to get revenge for it. He’s a guy who just wants to be left alone in peace, so I can see him trying to just distance himself from Sonic after that. It’d be a wholesome episode to see sonic try and earn his trust back.

Nine to me is one of the best examples of a neutral character I've ever seen. He doesn't want to save people, but he doesn't want to rule over anything. Dude just wants to be alone and be left to his work. He's a true introvert, which I most definitely identify with. Lol

Bad news, to tell you the truth, Tails (along with Nine, Mangey and Sails), aren't my favorite character(s). In fact, just in character, my favorite character is Sonic. Because he's blue, which is my favorite color. But at least he's my style, if you know what I mean. But the good news, is that I really do adore him much, due to his cuteness. Of course, in my opinion, Tails (along with Nine, Mangey and Sails) are the number one cutest characters. Sonic Prime shows us a Multiverse without Sonic. But it’s also without Shadow, since we never saw any alternate versions of Shadow either. This is definitely something to consider when doing Rouge’s character.
Wow! What a gr8 analysis. Tails is my most fav male Sonic character. Nine was the side of Tails that stuck out the most to me, because his character showed what he was like when he was deprived of friendship, something we all instinctively need.
My first impression on these are Nine is what happens when Tails only ever experienced abuse from others and thus trusts no one, Mangey is what you get when it's all about survival, and sails seems to have had good people around him but not to the extent where he became dependable thus seeming fairly normal.
Nine is one of the most relatable characters, or al least to me. bullied in the past, and living alone with no friends and thinking very low of other people.
Has anybody explored the part about nines arms being able to stretch to unrealistic proportions? Nine is probably going to be the most plot relevant version of tails, since he actually has a grasp of the shatterverse.

I agree with your assessment of Nine, and that's also why I suspect he may become a on-off again antagonist, not so much villainous like Robotnik but clearly out for his own ends. The issue is he also shows off some villainous traits, like the fact he feels no loyalty to anyone, he uses people for his own ends (though he does feel bad about it) and the fact he wants to remake a dimension/planet in the shatterverse to his vision (which is generally the first and primary motivation for any villain.) I feel that Nine represents a superposition of Sonic and Robotnik, in that Nine given the right (or wrong) push can fall to either side. I would love if Robotnik decides to take him under his wing. I've always felt in recent media for Sonic, that Tails and Robotnik have alot of similarities and if not for the fact they are supposed to be enemies, they would infact get along. I would find it rather satisfying if Robotnik at least tries to become a father figure to Nine, acting as the Demon to Sonic's angel, each side tempting and pushing Nine until he's forced to make a choice. _"Do I become a hero or a villain?"_ Since this isn't canon tails but a variant (to use Loki's TV series terms) they actually could have Nine fall to the "dark side" and it be ok, since it would all get reset if and when the universe gets put back together again. Plus Sonic would know that his friend is capable of these things and something to watch out for.
In my opinion, i think that in the next batch of episodes, we need to see Tails anxiety side. We do explore this partly in the games but not Sonic Prime. I think it would a cool aspect. Idk?

None of the four Tails are 'perfect' - maybe Sails is the most well-rounded, but we also see little of him. Prime Tails probably has more interior conflict, even in Green Hill, than we give him credit for. I think the little bit in the beginning where Tails is warning Sonic to not hit the Eggman robot and Sonic does it anyway and Tails looks upset is a hint that their relationship, while happy, does involve a certain amount of Tails suppressing disappointment. And the Nine-Sonic relationship shows what happens when he doesn’t suppress that disappointment - he reverts to prioritizing nothing but self-preservation. Green Hills Tails may feel disappointed by Sonic at times, but he prioritizes his relationship with the group, so he knows that disappointments are a thing that will happen. This is a bit disorganized and just a stream of consciousness, but you gave a fair amount to think about! Would love to see more stuff from you in the future ^^

Going back to Sonic Adventures 1 and 2 Tails is crazy. He beats Sonic in Race. He creates fake chaos emeralds to trick people and be used. His tech is crazy. He is also independent enough to fight Eggman on his own and win. I would argue his mech that transforms show more mastery machanic engineering Etc so the series has gone reversed a lot of Tails development. I hope we can get to the point again where Tails is able to beat Sonic and Eggman and be their true peers instead of a lackey to Sonic.
Mangey is more childlike without the shame of expressing it while the real Tails seems more mature despite his young looking age And Mangey's first sign of maturity could be the part when he learns how to fly! "He's not a hero in this world, but he's not quite a villian." I kinda describe anti-heros like this. Kinda just in the middle, but more closer to a hero. He does bad things, but only for good reasons.
I realize something well, this actually makes sense. What would happen once sonic brings his friends back? Will the alternate variations disappear? Or will they stay alive and go live? Their lives connected to the normal green Hill And I mean, it's like a Mini multi verse. Where all the universes are Interconnected And it just makes sense for them to either disappear or somehow. Be able to live life in their dimensions, but better.
Also something I realized, since sonic didnt exist he couldn't have saved Amy from Metal Sonic and that's how she got robotazied (I know I spelled that wrong)

I have a quick doubt. I think I might one day do a Sonic crossover fanfic saga, but... Where do I put Sally (90s show) ? Should she be the former princess of the kingdom that would become Eggman's main land ? Or the daughter of a duke, receiving the nickname princess, because there was this political competition to determine if it would be her or Sonia the new princess ? All I know is, she has to be Sonic's childhood best friend. The backstory here is that Sonic and Manick rejected their duties as princes in favor of their own freedom, with Sonic becoming that free roaming adventurer we know while Manick sucumbed to his addiction of stealing, with Sonia being the only one willing to take the throne. But I need more. And this is as much as you'll get out of me. Now, what do I do with Sally ?

This is what I was thinking too when I saw Sonic Prime like how the alternative versions of everyone Sonic meets are a piece of their personality
Nine and Mangey are like the "Pokemon Paradox" versions of Tails:
- Nine is the future version
- Mangey is the past version
Nine is quickly becoming a fan favourite.

He does bad things, but only for good reasons.

I realize something well, this actually makes sense. What would happen once sonic brings his friends back? Will the alternate variations disappear? Or will they stay alive and go live? Their lives connected to the normal green Hill And I mean, it's like a Mini multi verse. Where all the universes are Interconnected And it just makes sense for them to either disappear or somehow. Be able to live life in their dimensions, but better.
How did I not notice those before. Tails is my favorite yet I didn't notice his personalities via Sonic Prime 😅
Also something I realized, since sonic didnt exist he couldn't have saved Amy from Metal Sonic and that's how she got robotazied (I know I spelled that wrong)

It's pretty obvious at this point that Nine is the main villain.
By the time this video was made though he was a anti hero so you weren't wrong.
I still prefer the term best friend to brother, because family has certain obligations a friend doesn't have (you are kinda imposed by destiny to stand your family, but you choose your friends). I see them as platonic soulmates tho. I wish Tails meant for Sonic as much as Sonic means to Tails... more equals

I think Sonic Prime was good and the Character driven story is good I especially like that They had Tails/Nine do the Spin dash what the majority of the Sonic Tv Media and The resent Games has is forgetting that That Tails was the one to invent the Spin dash which he teaches to Sonic I’m faked they finally Acknowledge Tails can Spin Dash also I like Nine’s 7 extra Metal Tails they reminds me of Doc Octopus’s Metal Arms Spider-Man’s Iron Spider Armour’s Metal Spider Legs they proves to make him more versatile and Nine’s Chaacter is Similar to How Dick Grayson/ Robbin broke off from Batman and Becomes The independent Nightwing also Mangey while he doesn’t talk but you see his Emotions Fleshed out by this Body Language you don’t need speak to see his Personality and Sails we see him being more Outgoing and Adventures and Fully trusting himself and Not trying overthink Things and i see how the three alternative Tails represent different parts of him Nine Independent Mangey Younger Self and Sails Adventuress.

I don't like how they make all other characters so depending of Sonic.And what they did to Amy.
Unless time works differently Nine is 8 or at most 12, so … yeah. I never blamed tails for being a child but the sonic games just made him look like a total coward
Nines character definetly got more interesting in season 2 in particular. He might have good intentions, but his ultimate goal is for himself, not to save, or fix anyone/anything else.

I have a quick doubt. I think I might one day do a Sonic crossover fanfic saga, but... Where do I put Sally (90s show) ?
Should she be the former princess of the kingdom that would become Eggman's main land ? Or the daughter of a duke, receiving the nickname princess, because there was this political competition to determine if it would be her or Sonia the new princess ? All I know is, she has to be Sonic's childhood best friend.
The backstory here is that Sonic and Manick rejected their duties as princes in favor of their own freedom, with Sonic becoming that free roaming adventurer we know while Manick sucumbed to his addiction of stealing, with Sonia being the only one willing to take the throne. But I need more.
