I ended up with someone as "honorable" as Clark... but Clark was more awesome than honorable, ha ha. Lois seeing Clark's integrity more than his good looks was what sealed Lois for me as the perfect woman for Clark... the only one who didn't chase him but waited for him while growing on her own.
The thing about Lois is that though she was often shown to be wilful and tactless, she could be extremely insightful in these quieter moments. She's shown having these little chats with Clark, Chloe, Lana, Oliver and even Kara without once losing her essential Lois-ness. That's a credit to the writers and the actress.
Ballyuk Yes she’s amazing! This is why she's so amazing for Clark! She helps him step out of his shell and face his worries and thoughts head on! Lana just makes him worry more and feel hurt and sadness she isn’t good for him at all.
"I would be lucky to end up with someone as honorable as Clark someday." - And that's why Lois & Clark work. Why overthink it? He's an honorable guy... strip everything else away and that's his core. Lois sees it, and that's enough. She's definitely not perfect, but she's brilliant with that insight.
@James Pasqualone-McMullen thank you. You are spot on. Lana did need to know everything. Lois not so much. I think the writers had Clark feel this therefore he could never trust Lana. Clana is a great looking couple. However, it was not going to work. Even after Clark told her everything she kept lying to him.
@jamespasqualone-mcmullen8226 omg! This is to a T exactly what I see and feel regarding Lana. And in the end Lana pretty much does the same thing as Lex to try and stay close to Clark, both try to make themselves superhuman, one as an ally the other as an enemy. And it backfires for them both
Lana definitely has insecurities she has to deal with and sometimes she was also scared to be vulnerable like Clark was but Lois' personality is like "heck who cares, I know you, that's enough for me" and that's why Clark and Lois work so well together..
I actually preferred Lois instead of Lana. Things with Clark & Lana just seemed like a cheesy high school love story. It literally turned into Ross & Rachel syndrome from Friends if you've ever seen it. Like, will they? won't they? Lana was always some hurt little orphan girl who always needed saving. Lois was fire from the start.
That’s the point. Clark and Lana was a young, pubescent, unstable type of love. Lois and Clark was a settled, secure, mature type of love. Which is fitting since Smallville is the story of Clark Kent going from boy to man. There is a reason we celebrate HS sweethearts that stay together for decades. They accomplished what a lot of people/couples fail at maturing into a adult relationship. That is what eventually Clark and Lana did them in.
The fact that Lana is confused here whether to feel the same way about him or not, shows Lois loves Clark more.. when Lois find out she just thought about protecting him and loving him even more, but Lana had second thoughts
@@aliciaborth3016 Lana thought he was cool before he had any powers. So would you rather somebody love you for you,or because you were really fast and strong? Sounds like groupie love to me,which is basically how Lois is portrayed in most forms of Superman media. Doesn't give a crap about Clark unless he's doing Superman stuff.
This is exactly why Lana and Clark don't work. This chick always has to make things so freaking dramatic. JUST BE WITH THE BOY IF YOU LOVE HIM, MY GOD IT"S NOT THAT HARD. When Lois finds out Clark's secret she just accepts it because she loves him. Lana's gotta make things so dramatic, if she really wanted to marry Clark she would have done it without question. Clana relationship was so dramatic he would have never become Superman
I agree so much Clark fits so much better with Lois. Lana’s annoying as fuck especially when she gets with Lex. Like she can’t make up her mind between Clark and his mortal enemy who you can easily tell is the bad guy.
We all would probably hesitate if we were in that position. Lana had a tragic past with her parents. It wasn't just any normal proposal. She was a bit in shock. I will say the reason why Clark and Lana never could work out was because Lana is a "tortured soul." I will always hold out a candle for the 2 of them as at times their relationship was so special. Clark and Chloe are my ultimate couple! :) Chloe loved Clark the most IMHO.
@kirstenrox234 agree 100 percent. What show are these people watching. They just like lois because she is the comic book one. Lois was annoying in this show. So many cheesy lines and just plain loud mouth.
Honestly I can't blame Lana for having second thoughts. After all the whole"My boyfriend is an alien"thing is too much for a girl to take. But unfortunately ,compared to Lois, Lana just seemed so pale. Just like Clark said."There is only one Lois Lane.
Clark had his suspicions on Lana not taking the alien thing well. The episode where Cyrus said he was an alien, Clark asked Lana how she would feel. Lana told Clark it would freak her out.
@@aliciaborth3016 Truuuuu And with Lois, I remember Clark only hesitating to tell her because he was first trying to sort out his feelings for her, then he was trying to protect her from the burden of holding that secret- never because he doubted how she'd react or how that would change their relationship
We have Lana to thank for teaching Clark what "bad romance" feels like. Without it, he wouldn't have learned the difference between "falling in love" and "being in love." With Lana it is a "falling in" and "out" of love... With Lois, it is more of "being in love" and staying that way. That's how TRUE LOVE really is. Clark and Lois is so real the only thing that hurts is that it took SO LONG for Clark to learn what he's been missing.
Not right, Clois was earth love not Clana. Lana was placed on earth to teach Clark basically. Think about it, if Lois was with Clark as his first, the way she wanted to embrace clark as superman proves that she would have destroyed him to the world and probably gotten herself killed with her upbeat attitude. It's a win win situation from both parties in Lana and lois but i'd lean for Clana more because if you watch their relationship carefully you'd see that both of them were actually created or born to actually protect each other and teach eachother. Remember when Martha couldnt have children and she saw kid Lana with the magic wand, she said to her that she had wished for a child and right after that Clark came into the world with Martha and jonathan Kent. She even told Lana that story in the beginning in season 2. So based on that i'd say that Clana love issues wasn't a problem their love wasn't earthly it was beyond, it was destiny that was happening for them to keep each other alive as it panned out exactly to be! LANA also knew that Lex knew Clark's secret that's why she took his suit that absorbed kyrptonite to stop Lex from killing both Clark and Lana. She choose that not because she wanted to keep him away nor because of earth love, it was actually love destiny thing to keep them alive and the fact that Clark ultimate mission to save as much people as he can. Again There is no CLois without Lana being his first that's why Clana win for me after recognising their true relationahip.
@@knandez7__821 That's very insightful. I have nothing against Clana... but some shippers just push it a notch beyond shipping into making Lois seem like an usurper who has no right to appear in the series. Lois and Clark are as canon as canon can be. I appreciate other interpretations, they enrich the story of Superman definitely. I just hope fans don't make it a point to destroy the beauty each character adds to the story. The way Lana is structured as a love interest who's bound to teach Clark the rudiments of love and sacrifice can't be debated. But as a "first love" just learning the ropes, it's really bound to get a little toxic- which I have nothing against either. I just feel that Lois is truly Clark's soulmate- the woman who kept him whole through thick and thin. Lana will always be special, and the two women have their own significance. Still, I think Lana becoming that "important" shouldn't- and is in no way meant to- diminish Lois. I guess even the writers didn't intend that Lana should be "better" than or "superior" to Lois.
What I like about this scene is the hurricane Lois factor. When Lana comes in overwhelmed by the revelation, Lois is still this force of energy trying to drag her along. She dominates any environment she's in.
This acene really shows why Lois is the one. When she finally figures out or maybe just comes clean that she loves Clark it is because of the kind of person he is.
I love the look on Lana's face at 0:20. She just kept Lois from falling off the stool and for just a second she gets a peak into Clark's world; zipping around saving people, except not taking any credit in order to protect himself.
If a relationship has been going on for 7 years (Clana) and nothing looks right about it, you know it's not meant to be. But Lois and Clark was the real "slowburn romance" that kept me glued to the series. It was not the typical "break-up make-up" relationship that makes a series annoying... Lois's character was strong enough to stand the test of time, and it was evolving not stagnantly "sappy" and emotionally draining as Lana. Lana was Clark's (stupid) infatuation, LOIS was Clark's ONE, TRUE LOVE.
Lol the only reason why Clana was not meant to be is because writers had to follow some stupid canon. They were perfect with each other, but the writers contiuned to screw them for 7-8 years. Clark and Lois had good chemistry as friends, but their love storyline was way too forced.
Lana should have discovered this secret by season 4. They dragged it out way too long. Lana became consumed with getting revenge and all, but Clark as an alien hero and Lex as a nefarious villain is what eventually killed her spirit. Lois on the other hand isn't fazed so easily and has a real outlook on life that makes her very strong, and she sticks to her principles no matter what. I believe that is why Clark admires her. I never got that feeling with Lana. She was more of the pretty damsel that Clark wanted to protect and shield, she never really pushed Clark for the better the way Lois did.
~Because in real life, that's how your first love/highschool love feels like. When you fall in love for the first time, it feels like you'll never find anyone else and you're so sure you'll spend the rest of your life with that person. That's how Clark felt. But highschool sweethearts/first loves almost always never last.
First loves never die. that is why Clark always goes back to Lana time and time again. even in bronze age in the comics in parallel universe Clark reunited with His first true love Lana Lang.
@@rhondathompson6942 having kids is subjective to being important. It all depends on what you consider kids holding significance of showing that you love a person more so. People can be together and not want kids etc.
You just quoted the perfect line. Because Lois loved Clark no matter what. Lana has too many issues including with her own shit. She was never strong enough to deal with Clark. The chick ingested Kryptonite for crying out loud. To keep Clark away. Why? If you love him so much. Clark even said it, the relationship with Lana went wrong in so many ways he wasn't going to allow his relationship with Lois go down that road. That's why he wanted to be completely open and upfront with her and vice versa.
PiazzaGurl Exactly. I think what stands out the most is that it took Clark 5 seasons of on again off again bullshit relationship with Lana to finally tell her the truth. It took him less than 2 seasons to tell Lois the truth when it became abundantly clear to him that she's perfect and would never give away his secret
+David Hernandez 🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌. That's why in the Comics, Lois is one of the most important characters. Especially since she shaped Clark into the hero he is, and the whole battle of the future relies on her dying and him changing. Lana leaving or dying had zero impact on Clark. Clark became way more over protective towards Lois. It's written already. Clana fans need to let go. K.K. great actress, but the story of Superman wasn't written about Clana. It's Clois.
PiazzaGurl bravo couldn't have said it better myself. And as much as KK is a great actress it's quite clear that Erica Durance is as good an actress if not better, especially when you think about the fact that she had to pull off being Lois Lane with all the pressure coming from superman fans. Kristin didn't have to deal with that. Side note: I miss this show....
From my pov, Clark with Lana, is something that actually happens in real life, you have this person who means the world to you, but eventually you understand that even if both love each other, maybe dont have the same goals(in real life), it happened to me and it may be hard to accpt at first , but eventually you get over it and if you really love that person you let her go, and of course you learn lots of things , and all those precious moments wich will stay forever in your mind and heart
The difference between Lois and Lana when it comes to his real identity and who he is when Lois found out Clark’s secret she still loved him she always has her feelings for him never changed because of who he really is but when Lana found out she needed time to process everything that’s why he and Lois was more better for each other her feelings for him never changed because he was Superman THAT’S WHY I LOVE HER SO MUCH and her funniness also and Erica was my far favorite Lois Lane she is my number 2 favorite my number 1 favorite Lois lane is of course Teri Hatcher!!!!!!!!
@Roby95lana ~ yes, he said that in the PAST. However, by S7, he did not feel THAT way about LANA anymore. He had DOUBTS. Maybe, U should watch all those episodes :) He was not sure about their relationship LASTING anymore. He was clear about that, when she was leaving in Siren. Contrast to Season 9 and 10 when Clark did not ONCE doubt his feelings for Lois. He wanted to protect her, yes, but he NEVER had any doubt about HIS LOVE for her and them working things out. Period. End of Story.
Lana did nothing without reason. Even in season 8 when she comes back, she comes back because of powers and not because of miss Clark. Clark really liked Lana, but the series showed that he forgot her. He never used the Legion ring to go back in time, he had the opportunity to wish something that could help him with Lana for Zatanna and not wished. He visited the school where he spent four years there with Lana and only remembered it once, he reminded more of Chloe there.
I think that was more because the writers of the show had moved on from Lana's character not Clark. Plus Kristen wanted to leave the show anyway when her contract was up so they had to end the Clana storyline.
It doesn't matter if kk was not available they could have shown Clark pinning for Lana trying to find cure for her. If Clark believed Lana was the one for him then he could have stayed single all his life like Clark in comics does he never gets with anybody else after Lois. Lol even after 1000yrs he turned down the wonder woman when she offered sex to him & says even if Lois & him apart for 1000yrs Lois is still the one for him & always will be. So what does it say about Clark & lana's love. Clark forgot all about lana once Lois came back & then on he never looked back bocz he found his soulmate & love of his life in Lois
Also there were ways to be with her if he/they really wanted to because they had already experienced and knew what blue kryptonite did, all they had to do was have lana or Clark wear the blue kryptonite ring that clark has stashed away anytime they are together and clark would have been human with zero powers but the kryptonite wouldn't effect him at all and the moment they are apart he would get his powers back
@Roby95lana ~ Clark DID warn her about Lex... and she broke up with CLARK in the episode where Clark turned back time. She broke up with HIM... he didn't break up with her. Chloe and Clark warned Lana over and over about Lex, but she did not BELIEVE him or listen to his warnings! She got with Lex in Season 5-6, because she WANTED TO!
From the beginning Lana was not a very interesting character, a cheerleader dating the captain of the football team. How clique can you get. It seemed like deep down she knew Clark liked her and was just stringing him along. After the whole Lex affair it should have ended between them, but they go for another round. Even in season 7 when they were finally together they weren't blissfully happy, and when Lana made the goodbye video it was Lois who was there for him giving him a shoulder to cry on.
Lana vs lois. Lana is the twin flame that we all think is the one. It starts off hot and ends in fire. After you get over the burns, you meet your soul mate(Lois)
~They're like the practice test for when you truly fall in love. Lana was the practice run for Clark. Lois was the real deal. I think Lois and Lana are both amazing, but Lois is the one destined to be with Clark.
@Roby95lana ~ So, you must think that Lana is better than MARTHA too and that she sacrificed more than MARTHA as well, right? Cause Martha didn't put on a suit and try to get powers to be LIKE Clark and stay in his life *eye roll* That was a VERY dumb thing to do! CHLOE stayed in his life in Season 8 WITHOUT ANY POWERS... so why didn't Lana UNDERSTAND that??? No, I don't understand her "sacrifice" as great or a benefit to Clark! I think it was stupid and completely UNNECESSARY! Honestly!
They mishandled Clark and Lana's relationship in Smallville, they should've dated early in the series and broke up ( on good terms) before they graduated high school. They have such a good friendship in the comics, and I thought they should've in the show.
thank you! i know i'm doing a little thread necromancy here, but i had to comment on it xD that's a huge issue i have with this show, they were teasing us with this idea of them being together literally since the first minutes of the pilot, yet they didn't deliver even a one proper season (out of 10!) where they could enjoy themselves and give a satisfying goodbye to lana fans they were a couple for a few times in the show, but one was "erased" by time rewind (which was a bullshit stuff tbh, i always hate when they fuck with some time travels in shows/movies, the only exception is ofc "Back to the future" and maybe terminator 1-2), second was some annoying crap with keeping secrets and lana being fed up with it (which i think was actually a part of their first time being a couple, but after this time travel stuff, i dont remember), and third time was just one or two episodes when they're fine and then forcing her to get the fuck out of the show it was really frustrating watching for so long her dating some douchebags, while clark was sitting sad in the corner and weeping because of that why they couldn't just let them be together for a while, give them a reason to break up (even this cryptonite skin wasn't a terrible idea to make them literally unable to be together, though technically he could use a blue kryptonite to bypass that obstacle, but whatever), thus wrapping this whole lana arc and move on?
@@voldren eh? the comics dictate lana can never be the one for clarke, did you watch the first 7 seasons thinking she would be the love of his life lmfao?
@@robinhaymaker2 when did i say, that they should end up together happily ever after? just like original post said, in overall their realtionship was handled very poorly, from the first episode giving you this idea they're meant to be together, yet when they finally got closer, writers were making really lame excuses to split them up again it's possible to write a satisfying and good romance story for characters, that can't be together in the end, but their story wasn't well written at all
@@voldren It's true that there were Very lame or weak reasons to keep them apart, and kept trying to make it seem like they were some doomed/beautiful romance. But it wasn't. Much as he held a torch for her lana clearly wanted a more stable life (and after everything she grew up with in Smallville who could blame her) that Clark was never going to be able to provide.
They basically do end that way. The only difference is Lana in the show gets that nano tech, that absorbs kryptonite. So they can't be around eachother. If anything they made their goodbye shit. But, their build up. Was pretty spot on. Seeing as Clark had to be the nerd for most of his high school run. The only other problem, was Lana should've been keyed in to Clark's secret WAY before she actually found out.
The funny thing of this Lana vs Lois thing is that Lana is irrelevant on comics and movies, she has story with Clark just for Samllville, Lois and Clark have story on comics, movies, smallville and the other series. Clois is epic.
Lana was never irrelevant. she was always in every Superman things since 1950. Lana is the reason Lois even has any story in anything Superman. Lana is always first.
Lana is a key part of Clark Kent story. He got his values from the American farmer family. Lana was his first love. The death of Pa Kent taught Clark humans are fragile. All this lead to the protective nature Clark had to his adoptive planet.
No she is not key part of his life. I agree she has small part in his life not key part & they are not even that great friends bocz lana is still in love with clark & Lois does like her bocz lana tried to make problems between clois
@@Alyanasworld false, lois was introduced to the superman storyline right from the beginning, before smallville, before daily planet, before even krypton. she was like right after clark kent/superman in the story
This episode shows me why they didn't belong together, chloe found out was exactly normal ,lois complete loyalty, but she doubts and second guesses instead of just accepting, that is y lois is the one
Precisely! I like both Lois and Lana as characters- the fiery Joan of Arc and the dark Cleopatra- but Clana was so horrifyingly dysfunctional! They were all caught up in first love & as young people will do, they blew it all out of proportion. But here is a truth oft forgotten: if people REALLY want to be together, they will be. The fact that they were willing to walk away in Requiem, didn't bother to find a solution (even though there were INCREDIBLY easy answers to their problem) is telling.
If you're talking about when lana had that kryptonite infected suit I agree, all clark needed was a blue kryptonite ring to wear when they were near each other.
Thanks for posting! It really sucks that Clois didn't have more scenes together all of Season 5. They barely had any :*( But here we get to see her say that she would be Lucky to end up with someone like Clark one day :-D And she calls him "tall, dark and bumbling" hahahaha - I love those two!! Lois: Does it change the way you feel about him? Lana: Maybe. After Lois found out the Truth about Clark (Salvation), she said that it made her love him MORE (Isis mirror scene) ~ Yay! :-)
When I was young I thought Lana was way better than Lois. And now I see that Lana is for sure just an attention seeker and Lois is actually trying to help, she's just kinda blunt sometimes
And here you can see the huge difference between Lana and Lois. So different in the ways they think. Whilst Lana over think about it Lois just follow her heart
It’s funny Lana thinks when she’s with clark but when she’s with anyone else like lex she turns her brain off and becomes dumb this is why I prefer Lois she thinks but doesn’t under or over think
@Roby95lana ~ So, nothing bad that Lana did was LANA's fault, huh? It was Lex's or the secrets that Clark kept. Okay. That's why we disagree. I think EVERYONE is responsible for their actions... including Lana. Lex is not responsible for the bad things that she did to Clark for years. Honestly, I don't know why Clana fans use 1 episode Requiem to say that Clark & Lana would be together now FACT - they'd SEVEN YEARS to be together, but could NEVER make their relationship LAST! WHY IS THAT?
@Roby95lana ~ Yes, Lana and Lex can be compared. Why do you think she was attracted to him in the FIRST PLACE? They had plenty in common. They were friends... they both tried to find out Clark's secret... and she had sex with Lex, he didn't trick her into that. So, yes, she plotted like Lex... she lied to Clark like Lex... she tried to get powers like Clark's, same as Lex. I don't understand why you can't see the connection between Lexana??? Really, u don't know WHY she got with Lex in S5?
@@DannyHsn Yeah. I was not into TV that much when Smallville was popular, but while I was looking for a certain Lifehouse song I could use for a project, I saw an amv with Clark and Lana in it... I started watching the series for the first time and guess what? I LOVED LOIS SO MUCH I couldn't stop watching. I think Smallville is the best series I've seen so far and CLOIS the best romantic pair ever. I haven't seen two people so in love it makes you want to fall in love too. ^_^ Tom Welling's "gaze" when he looks at Erica Durance was like the defining moment for Clark and Lois, which is much more romantic that Clark x Lana's kisses in the early seasons. Also, I noticed Welling is not so "into" his scenes with Lana when they got back together in the later seasons. Kissing her looked like he was kissing the Berlin Wall.
@@turquoisemoon3654 I hated how we only had 2 solid season and also hated the fact that when they were about to kiss in S8 Lana returns that made me soooo angry
he meant clark luthor.... the clark from parallel earth who was adopted by lex´ father. but to be fair clark luthor never really hid that he wasn´t clark kent
Bizzaro had all of Clarks memories up to s6 finale. He could fake his personality pretty well. Clark Luthor spent years under an abusive father and had already met Lois. Comparisons are prettt poor
@Roby95lana ~ Where was Lana when the Kandor's took over in the Pandora future??? She is full of Kryptonite, but didn't come back to fight??? Where exactly she is being a "super-hero," cause I never saw that mentioned ONCE on the actual show??? Some future she's got lol
well if the show ended in season 8, i would have never seen it. I didn't follow it on tv. After watching an epi with Lois someday, i went here to see some latest seasons vids. Then i bought the dvd from S 5 to 10. Ever since i only rewatch over n over S8,9 and 10. The whole Clark and Lana thing was good, but for other people not me. Lois freshness, sassyness, her interactions with Clark n his growing maturity brought me into the fan base of the show. So thanks god they cut Lana from Clark life.
funny how Lana wasnt sure how she felt about clark after finding out the truth but saw the light once Lois talked to her on how nothing should matter because nevertheless Clark is amazing :') plus usually Lana mostly thought the the only way her and Clark could work was if she was "super" too like on his level and that wasn't it, that wasnt what he needed. Smallville is supposed to be Pre- Superman so they elongated the Lana story for TV & i did enjoy it too but Clois was written in the stars and everywhere tbh :)
agree on all fronts, I'm just glad that in began all those terrible Lana episodes in season 6 and 7, lois kept the show afloat. Still the best Live action Lois Lane ever
Well according to the comics, Lana and Clark were through a whole 4 years in HS. People thought they were gonna be it. And After that and college in was written in Lois. The strong lady who would change Clarks life forever.
He never dumped Lana for Lois, or chose Lois over Lana. what show were u watching. Lana dumped Clark to move on with his life because Lex put the kryptonite bomb to break them up. Lana absorbed a whole town of kryptonite. Lana let him go so he would not die. so do not make up things. Lois is a second choice. She was never his first choice if not the circumstances. those are the facts that played on Small ville Show.
This!!! This is why I always disliked Lana!!! Every time she found out something about someone, she made it a HUGE deal or out to be some deep thought piece about herself/how her view of them has changed like folks aren't allowed to have secrets!! Like she herself didn't have a BUNCH of secrets!! So infuriating!!! Lana acted like finding out Clark's secret was like finding out he's a murderer!! What was great about Lois is that she understood that Clark was just Clark and what he could do simply made him greater in her eyes; not someone/something constantly needing to be questioned or in competition with.
@Roby95lana ~ What? Lois didn't have super powers so she couldn't help him fight crime??? Is that what is supposed to happen? Like a woman is married to a cop, so she runs around after him, trying to stop muggers??? lol That's insane. Lois helped the Blur on numerous occasions and support Clark in a mature and HEALTHY way. Lana got powers, stalked and tried to kill Lex... attacked Lois and then Attacked Clark himself. She was NEVER right for Clark because he couldn't TRUST her.
@Roby95lana ~ and Lois said she would wait until the person trusted her enough to tell her... that's what she did in Season 10 :-D Just what she said she would!
@Roby95lana ~ how can you say that she was REAL in Season 8, but not in Seasons 4 thru 7???? What makes those 4 episodes more "real" in your opinion? Cause you want to IGNORE and Over-look ALL the bad that Lana did. And blame OTHERS. Not me! I accept the mistakes that Lois made, she wasn't like Lana though. She didn't cheat on Clark or side with Lex against him. Lois was FRIENDS with CK, yes and they built from that! Clana after S3 couldn't even be friends... too much weirdness between them
Erica is ugly. she has lines around her mouth. she has big nose. big forehead which She looks old. Kristen is gorgeous. Do not mess with Asian Dutch genes. even today Kristen still looks like a beautiful teenager and Erica looks older.
Lois There was always a hint that whatever the hidden secret, "sometimes we hide a secret for a reason" she would be there to support. I said this to Choe when she asked for advice about SOMEONE (Clark) never revealing her secret! A When Lana finds out Clark's secret from his mouth, she is very reluctant and makes up reasons. She makes Clark's secret seem like the worst thing in the world: melancholic and depressing.
@Roby95lana ~ Well, that just makes Lana look stupid... Chloe is human, so is Martha... and Lois... none of them had to get powers to be in Clark's life... why is Lana so different???
This was right after Clark proposed at the Fortress, with a ring made by squeeze and eye laser... Then Lana went and died later... Then Clark went and forced Jor-El to reverse it... Then Jonathan... Great Goodness. It's been about 10 years since I watch it and I still love and remember!
@Roby95lana ~ Super-hero Lana Lang could have come back... At that time, Clark did NOT have Powers in the Pandora future. That is the POINT. Where was she when Zod took over?! She could have EASILY taken out the Kandorians... IF she was a hero, as you say... but she was nowhere to be found??? Regardless of the actress' schedule, LANA, could have been mentioned on the show. IF she were actually fighting the Kandorians or saving anyone in the world. Chloe & Oliver could have worked with her!
@Roby95lana ~ not surprised a Clana fan would have to resort to name-calling AND cursing... but whatever. Keep clinging to the early part of the show and IGNORE Season 7, if u want. Also, ignore Season 9, Season 10, AND the Series Finale. You must hate that. Y'know, seeing Clark actually HAPPY with LOIS and saying that everything is PERFECT for him... at HIS wedding - because he LOVES & TRUST Her FOREVER. Guess you missed all those episodes??? I didn't miss LANA's wedding though. Buh-bye!
@Roby95lana ~ What are you talking about? Please tell me the episode when Clark said THAT to Lana? When did he say that Lana was the LOVE OF HIS LIFE?!? Or tell her that she was THE ONE? Cause maybe U don't remember in Siren when LANA said, "I think you DOUBT that I'm the one you're supposed to end up with" and Clark answered that he couldn't see the future... NOT that he was sure about her. Sorry, that's what happened. They were living together and sleeping FAR APART... not happy at all!
I did watch B, B, P, R, but she didn't do that for CLARK. She was hell bent on getting revenge on LEX. She stole his technology... she wasn't even with Clark. And IF she really trusted in Clark's love for her - then why would she do ALL that behind his back??? Clark & Lana broke up over and over again (nothing to do with Lois) - Seasons 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7 - Lana was with other guys AND making Clark miserable in the process. Maybe, that why at the end of SIREN he couldn't say she was The One.
It's at that moment Lana realized Lois and Clark are meant to be so as painful as it is for Lana she steers them towards each other like a female cupid lol
Does no Clana fan see how shallow Lana is. She finds out who Clark really is and where he's from and has second thoughts about his m. Lois just admitted basically if Clarks no criminal your feelings should t change. Lois would be lucky to have someone like Clark. That's why Clois were meant to be. Lois accepted Clark no matter and refused to be in his way.
It's because the wirters of the show at the beginning liked Lana Lang. They did everything within their power to make people like her despite some of the obvious BS she was capable of. Needless to say, it worked on some people.
@Roby95lana ~ Clark would have tried to STOP her, sooo she didn't tell him?? And that makes him TRUST HER?! I don't understand this. How do you trust someone that plots behind Ur back? And how does Lana changing HERSELF to make herself not human, a good thing?! She didn't ever believe that she and Clark could be together IF she was a normal person?! That's foolish. That just proves that they were not right for each other; if she couldn't even be HERSELF with him. Clana was doomed to FAIL.
Speaking as someone who prefers Clois, I don't get how anyone thinks Lana being confused about her feelings for Clark should be held against or that she can't handle being with him. She made it clear numerous times that she did want to be with Clark but he kept pushing her away. He had his reasons but it isn't as simple as "Lana couldn't deal with Clark's life". Hell, this episode even has her say yes to Clark and literally taking his secret with her to the grave.
Yes, but Kreuk showed very clearly that Lana had her doubts even as she did say yes, which is never a good sign. And she straight away went to Lex as well, that's something she does throughout the show, having several guys on the backburner. Not a good trait.
@Roby95lana ~ When did I say that lana didn't except Clark? I didn't say that in my comment. However, time and time again SV showed that Lana did NOT even know Clark. So, her words aren't really enough. Her ACTIONS of lying to him, plotting against Lex - behind his back, and sleeping with Bizarro, proved otherwise. It's hard to "accept" someone when you don't really even KNOW who they are. But, hey, Clark couldn't really accept Lana for the plotting/fierce person that she really was either!
+Alex Luna, I agree with that. Lois would have never done that, and after she did that, I really hated Lana. I mean, how can you sleep with the man's ex-best friend just to get back at him for not telling you his secret ON THE REBOUND? That's messed up, and then treating him like a second-class citizen when you did see him. That action alone was more of a beytral than anything Clark ever said or did to her. Clark never hit or got with Lana's friends just to spite her, but she did. That's messed up.
Yeah..at least Lana lost her virginity to Clark. Lois is assumed to have lost her virginity before she was even introduced. So yeah..in this case Lois is more of a slut than Lana.
Lois Hois is the biggest slut of Small ville. she slept with any guy she saw that gave her attention. Lana only slept with Clark and Lex. Clark took Lana's virginity and he took hers. Lana is way better than His Low Lame.
Honestly out of all the gals Clark had a relationship with (Lana, Kyla, Alicia definitely! Not Chloe) Lois was the better for him. It’s a shame it took so freakin long for it to begin.
My complaint as well. The slow burn was too slow... I wanted to seem Clark "date" Lois at least once while they were still in high school (though that was only 23 days for Lois in Smallville).
@@orlandobabe Yeah, I would be forever "salty" for Lana staying "too long" and giving Clark nothing but agony when Lois was there... she was there and she was perfect.
Turquoise Moon I don’t know if it was the Clana fans demanding it and the folks behind the show caved in to their demands or they wanted to drag it on. But seriously this show had great potential if only for so many things.
@@orlandobabe I felt that way too. Watching it in 2019 made me feel like I missed so much have I watched it ten years ago... because then I would have probably heard how fans thought of it. I could not imagine how a traumatic first love could have made a series good... all I know is that despite the "drag" that Lana gave it. I could not keep myself from watching the series... and it's because I wanted to see Lois and Clark become real. Haha... I'm sappy after 10 years... awkward right?
this may be shocking but you can like both lana AND lois at the same time. i know reading that is gonna shock a lot of you so sorry for that. but yeah. wanting clark&lois or clark&lana doesn't have to make you hate one of the others. i love both of them they're both amazing in their own right. better then clark in someways too.
@Roby95lana ~ America :) And you think I am stubborn, because I won't change my thoughts. But you are the same. You said that Lana was BETTER THAN Lois. I don't agree and never will. It was proved on the show, time and time again that LOIS was better FOR CLARK. Like Lois said she loved him in Committed and never went with ANY other guy after that. Lana said she loves him, then sleeps with him worst enemy and a guy that was pretending to be Clark??? How is THAT okay? Lois knew CLARK.
I do overall prefer Lois because I like to think of it as: Lana saw Clark for who she wanted him to be, whereas Lois saw Clark for who he was. Lana was power-hungry by the end, and wanted him to be something he wasn't whereas Lois took him for what he was Both aren't perfect, though. I do think Lois having feelings for BOTH the Blur & Clark was a big issue (Just so happened it was the same person... but what if it wasn't?) Lois wanted Blur for the mission, for bigger things. But Clark was from love. It really seemed like she was gona do the mission>love... but yea
i never liked the couple Lana and Clark, Clark thinks that Lanan is perfect, he is in adoration in front of her. Lana is not perfect, she is annoying, Lois is more interesting, she is mad, funny, kicks ass, sexy. I don't understand Clarck's obsession for Lana. Lana is selfish.
Alex Luna Me neither. Clark and Lois is real love. The whole Clark and Lana relationship was just an obsessive teenage crush of Clark's that he convinced himself was true love.
Alex Luna Clark and Lois loved each other for who they both were. Lana only used Clark as a rebound after Whitney Fordman died in the army. Clark loved an idea of Lana which made him clueless to what a bitch the real Lana was.
@Roby95lana ~ What is ALL Lex's fault? I don't understand what you mean. He made do things? She didn't have free will? Really, I don't know what you are referring to. Lex was not all bad. He tried to do good things and be a friend to Clark. Clark lied to him and tricked him over and over. Lana and Lex bonded over that.
@matthewmartinx ~ Oh, just to add... I did notice that they had a lot more positive interactions in Season 6. However, in Season 7, they barely had ANY scenes together... again, their screen-time took a nosedive! Do you know of a reason for that??? Just curious.
I am not sure if you are stating a preference for Clana but if you are then Kristin Kreuk being beautiful has nothing to do with whether Lana should have been with Clark.
@Roby95lana ~ And I guess YOU FORGET all of Lana's relationship... You know with Jason, Lex, and Bizarro in seasons 4, 5, 6, AND 7. Maybe you need to re-watch cause you seemed to have missed A LOT! All you remember is some happy-loving Clana relationship that just did not exist. I WATCHED IT, thank you!
@Roby95lana ~ Well, they still mentioned that Bart, Victor, etc were being HEROS out in the world... even when those Actors couldn't be on the show... they even had a Zatanna send Clois an engagement gift... so, IF Lana was somewhere out there... she could have been mentioned. Even by Chloe... but she wasn't.
Lana always makes everything a big revelation, a misery, a horror... She's miserable by nature.. She's a soap opera queen. Lois is a real adult human being, she looks at the general picture of Clark Kent. He's honorable, friendly, even chivalrous. Doesn't have any bad habits except he seems to save people, a lot. He seems to like caves and medallions with outlandish symbols on them. Lana wants to know the whole story of Clark Kent to have a relationship with him 'he never tells me the truth' etc ------soap opera fodder. ... Lois is mature enough to know you NEVER know everything about a person. Especially someone like Clark Kent, reticence being one of his virtues. He's honorable. What else is needed?
@Roby95lana ~ Actually, you just said that Lana was BETTER THAN Lois because she got powers like Clark???? That doesn't make any sense to me. And you say that Lana was "good for Clark"... did U watch the show? He was MISERABLE most of the time that they were involved. Didn't you see ALL the pain, anger, sadness? Didn't you see him throwing Lana's picture out into the night sky??? Didn't you see Lana sleep with a guy and NOT even know that he wasn't Clark?!?! How is that "good" for CLARK?!
"I would be lucky to end up with someone as honorable as Clark someday."
OH THE IRONY!
Fast-forwarding to season 8-10 lol!
I know right!!!
Turquoise Moon Well said!
That's not irony, that's foreshadowing.
She was everything but tactless here. She never invaded anyone's personal business, she was bubbly but also honest, generous and thoughtful
People sometimes want something dramatic to happen between Lois and Lana but in Smallville they were friends and that's what I like.
Go sit your @ss down at your desk and tell Choe to bring me a coffee 🤓
@jamespasqualone-mcmullen8226 omg! This is to a T exactly what I see and feel regarding
Lana.
This scene is such a good way to foreshadow how things will turn out.
Don't worry Lois...you do
What a show that was. I just finished rewatching it, the whole series. It's still great.
Are you watching Talk Ville? You'd really like that, lol
That’s why Lois is the One
I actually preferred Lois instead of Lana. Things with Clark & Lana just seemed like a cheesy high school love story. It literally turned into Ross & Rachel syndrome from Friends if you've ever seen it. Like, will they? won't they? Lana was always some hurt little orphan girl who always needed saving. Lois was fire from the start.
Okay I agree with you But DO NOT compare a stupid ship clana to Ross and Rachel and yes they WERE on BREAK!!
Clana is the most boring thing in the series.
@@LorenaSM08 my god yes. I mean poor Kristin Kreuk! Her character was SO boring.
@@Puda Oh, of course!
Is it just me or I find it more than a coincidence that the first person Lana And Chloe asked for advice after finding out Clarks secret was Lois...
The fact that Lana is confused here whether to feel the same way about him or not, shows Lois loves Clark more.. when Lois find out she just thought about protecting him and loving him even more, but Lana had second thoughts
Ash Rios because of her PARENTS!!!!
Right! When Lois found out he was an alien she thought it was really cool.
NoodleJutsu Music 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
To be fair Lois found out after all these vigilantes came to metropolis and the supernatural was already exposed to her
@@aliciaborth3016 Lana thought he was cool before he had any powers.
I was so sick of them with Clark so gun over heels with Clark like move on already
@@mackenziecarl9629wtf r u talking about? Clark was the one always hurting and breaking up with her then getting jealous when she tries moving on.
Just like Clark said."There is only one Lois Lane.
wei chen lol Lois said "It's like dating a God or bono" that's my gal
Clark had his suspicions on Lana not taking the alien thing well. The episode where Cyrus said he was an alien, Clark asked Lana how she would feel. Lana told Clark it would freak her out.
@@aliciaborth3016 well she dated a dead guy she was a witch an vampire i still think shes a witch tho 😆
Exactly. Clark needed a Harley in his life.
Lois had sex with Aquaman and The Green Arrow. She is up for falling with anyone.
These anti Lana comments are so fkn stupid. Go to Tumblr for your stupid fandom instead of being annoying here

You do, Lois...you do. ❤️❤️❤️
"Look, I don't know what's going on, but... I would be lucky to end up with someone as honorable as Clark someday."
EPIC FORESHADOWING 😂😂😂😂
What I like about this scene is the hurricane Lois factor. When Lana comes in overwhelmed by the revelation, Lois is still this force of energy trying to drag her along. She dominates any environment she's in.
This acene really shows why Lois is the one. When she finally figures out or maybe just comes clean that she loves Clark it is because of the kind of person he is.
Oh Lois, you will end up with Clark...❤️❤️❤️

"Does it change the way you feel about him?" This question is why Lois won over Lana.
EXACTLY!
I always love the foreshadowing of this show of Lois and Clark
From my pov, Clark with Lana, is something that actually happens in real life, you have this person who means the world to you, but eventually you understand that even if both love each other, maybe dont have the same goals(in real life), it happened to me
and it may be hard to accpt at first , but eventually you get over it and if you really love that person you let her go, and of course you learn lots of things , and all those precious moments wich will stay forever in your mind and heart

This is not always the case though…
Clois 4 Ever ❤
Also there were ways to be with her if he/they really wanted to because they had already experienced and knew what blue kryptonite did, all they had to do was have lana or Clark wear the blue kryptonite ring that clark has stashed away anytime they are together and clark would have been human with zero powers but the kryptonite wouldn't effect him at all and the moment they are apart he would get his powers back
@@richardgrace4500 that does make sense but as it's been said she was ready to leave anyways so my guess that's why they didn't go that route
Remember she lost the powers too bro. Metallo stripped her of those powers. She was powerless again and lost Clark. 2 big Ls

U literally didn’t understand Lana at all since the end of the pilot explained she was much more than that
Lana vs lois.
Cause Martha didn't put on a suit and try to get powers to be LIKE Clark and stay in his life *eye roll*
That was a VERY dumb thing to do!
They have such a good friendship in the comics, and I thought they should've in the show.
thank you! i know i'm doing a little thread necromancy here, but i had to comment on it xD
that's a huge issue i have with this show, they were teasing us with this idea of them being together literally since the first minutes of the pilot, yet they didn't deliver even a one proper season (out of 10!) where they could enjoy themselves and give a satisfying goodbye to lana fans
they were a couple for a few times in the show, but one was "erased" by time rewind (which was a bullshit stuff tbh, i always hate when they fuck with some time travels in shows/movies, the only exception is ofc "Back to the future" and maybe terminator 1-2), second was some annoying crap with keeping secrets and lana being fed up with it (which i think was actually a part of their first time being a couple, but after this time travel stuff, i dont remember), and third time was just one or two episodes when they're fine and then forcing her to get the fuck out of the show
it was really frustrating watching for so long her dating some douchebags, while clark was sitting sad in the corner and weeping because of that
why they couldn't just let them be together for a while, give them a reason to break up (even this cryptonite skin wasn't a terrible idea to make them literally unable to be together, though technically he could use a blue kryptonite to bypass that obstacle, but whatever), thus wrapping this whole lana arc and move on?
@@voldren eh? the comics dictate lana can never be the one for clarke, did you watch the first 7 seasons thinking she would be the love of his life lmfao?

But it wasn't. Much as he held a torch for her lana clearly wanted a more stable life (and after everything she grew up with in Smallville who could blame her) that Clark was never going to be able to provide.
They basically do end that way. The only difference is Lana in the show gets that nano tech, that absorbs kryptonite. So they can't be around eachother. If anything they made their goodbye shit. But, their build up. Was pretty spot on. Seeing as Clark had to be the nerd for most of his high school run. The only other problem, was Lana should've been keyed in to Clark's secret WAY before she actually found out.
Lois had more ooomph that Lana . Her personality was stronger I think . They did well with this actress as Lois in her scenes with Clark .
I agree she has small part in his life not key part & they are not even that great friends bocz lana is still in love with clark & Lois does like her bocz lana tried to make problems between clois
u make no sense
Honestly, I don't know why Clana fans use 1 episode Requiem to say that Clark & Lana would be together now
FACT - they'd SEVEN YEARS to be together, but could NEVER make their relationship LAST!
Little did Lois know at that time that she would be the one to end up with the honorable Clark Kent :)
Lois >>>>
Yes because lois and clark are destined to be together
Lois is perfect for Clark.
It was LOIS (Erica Durance) calling Clark "Smallville" that made me watch the series in 2019. NOT LANA.
Lmao
You had to wait 4 seasons
I hated Lana as much as u do
@@DannyHsn Yeah.
@@turquoisemoon3654 I hated how we only had 2 solid season and also hated the fact that when they were about to kiss in S8 Lana returns that made me soooo angry
in lana's head after lois said that: "threat alert yellow"
Jack Queen hahaha so true
remember Lana did sleep with Bizarro and Lois always knew when it was Clark Luthor.
he meant clark luthor.... the clark from parallel earth who was adopted by lex´ father.
but to be fair clark luthor never really hid that he wasn´t clark kent
Bizzaro had all of Clarks memories up to s6 finale. He could fake his personality pretty well. Clark Luthor spent years under an abusive father and had already met Lois. Comparisons are prettt poor
cindi cook team bizzaro and lana
@@ScourgeofBabylon red k clark and Lionel clark couldn’t tell the difference and it’s especially shocking with Lionel
Kale Basse same here ❤
funny how Lana wasnt sure how she felt about clark after finding out the truth but saw the light once Lois talked to her on how nothing should matter because nevertheless Clark is amazing :') plus usually Lana mostly thought the the only way her and Clark could work was if she was "super" too like on his level and that wasn't it, that wasnt what he needed. Smallville is supposed to be Pre- Superman so they elongated the Lana story for TV & i did enjoy it too but Clois was written in the stars and everywhere tbh :)
+jo22k, that shocked look is why it took Clark so long to tell her his secret. She shouldn't have been trying to pester him about it all along.
agree on all fronts, I'm just glad that in began all those terrible Lana episodes in season 6 and 7, lois kept the show afloat. Still the best Live action Lois Lane ever
Well according to the comics, Lana and Clark were through a whole 4 years in HS. People thought they were gonna be it. And After that and college in was written in Lois. The strong lady who would change Clarks life forever.
PiazzaGurl absolutely. And if you watched Smallville it shows why he chose Lois over Lana
Clana after S3 couldn't even be friends... too much weirdness between them
Clips like this make you realize that Kryptonian really does know how to pick 'em!
Kristin Kreuk is honestly the most gorgeous perfect looking person on the planet. It's like staring into the sun.
+Christina C YES!
For me that's Erica Durance. Although I agree that Kristin Kreuk is stunning, her smile and those gorgeous eyes light up a room
Kristin is pretty, but is nowhere near as gorgeous as Erica.
Roy W agreed
This is why it was always going to be Lois...
I think in this moment, Lana forsaw she might be replaced.
She knew in "gone", season 4, episode 2.
Lana e Lois😍❤
I prefer lois than lana. Lana always sad. Lois is a funny girl n eassy going.
This was right after Clark proposed at the Fortress, with a ring made by squeeze and eye laser...
Then Lana went and died later...
Then Clark went and forced Jor-El to reverse it...
Then Jonathan...
Great Goodness. It's been about 10 years since I watch it and I still love and remember!
imagine writing this script knowing who superman's endgame is...
Clana shippers were convinced that Clark would end up with their goddess 😂
Lana was so shocked by learning about Clark's secret that she turned Canadian for a second in that "Sorry I'm late" line.
It's at that moment Lana realized Lois and Clark are meant to be so as painful as it is for Lana she steers them towards each other like a female cupid lol
@Roby95lana ~ Yes that was the Clana relationship = Secrets, secrets, secrets!
Lois is more independent, funnier, tougher, and all-around a better choice for Clark... But there's just something so attractive about Lana.
VivaToddVegas i know right
Prayers
LOIS AND CLARK FOREVER !!!!!!!!!. Lois know Clarck better than Lana. What Lana did, sleeping with Lex etc.. Lois won't do that.
+Derek Mathews so fucking true. She treated him like dirt when she was around lex.
No that's wrong. Lana had lots of boyfriends. Clark, Lex, Whitney, and Adam. Clark had some girlfriends of his own. Lois, Lana, Alicia, and Kayla.
Would have happened if Lana had made her exit sooner rather then later.
Haha... I'm sappy after 10 years... awkward right?
this may be shocking but you can like both lana AND lois at the same time. i know reading that is gonna shock a lot of you so sorry for that. but yeah. wanting clark&lois or clark&lana doesn't have to make you hate one of the others. i love both of them they're both amazing in their own right. better then clark in someways too.
i liked clark and lana for little bit bt became wayy too annoying and forced by the end i felt.
I do overall prefer Lois because I like to think of it as:
Lana saw Clark for who she wanted him to be, whereas Lois saw Clark for who he was.
Lana was power-hungry by the end, and wanted him to be something he wasn't whereas Lois took him for what he was
Both aren't perfect, though. I do think Lois having feelings for BOTH the Blur & Clark was a big issue (Just so happened it was the same person... but what if it wasn't?)
Lois wanted Blur for the mission, for bigger things.
Xehanort10 i agree, Lois felt in love first. Clark takes too much time to see Lois and fall in love too.
Alex Luna Clark and Lois loved each other for who they both were. Lana only used Clark as a rebound after Whitney Fordman died in the army. Clark loved an idea of Lana which made him clueless to what a bitch the real Lana was.
totally agree
Alex Luna No wonder Lana dated Lex for a while because she was as evil as he eventually became.
its fun reading comments :-D
@Roby95lana ~ What is ALL Lex's fault? I don't understand what you mean. He made do things? She didn't have free will? Really, I don't know what you are referring to.
Lex was not all bad. He tried to do good things and be a friend to Clark. Clark lied to him and tricked him over and over. Lana and Lex bonded over that.
in end lex had too much darkness in him and craved power and recognition too much
@matthewmartinx ~ Oh, just to add... I did notice that they had a lot more positive interactions in Season 6. However, in Season 7, they barely had ANY scenes together... again, their screen-time took a nosedive!
Do you know of a reason for that??? Just curious.
@Roby95lana ~ OH, and Whitney and Adam... in Season 1 and 2... Did you forget about THOSE???
Kristin Kreuk 4EVER! She is so fricking gorgeous!
I am not sure if you are stating a preference for Clana but if you are then Kristin Kreuk being beautiful has nothing to do with whether Lana should have been with Clark.
😍😍😍
@Roby95lana ~ And I guess YOU FORGET all of Lana's relationship... You know with Jason, Lex, and Bizarro in seasons 4, 5, 6, AND 7. Maybe you need to re-watch cause you seemed to have missed A LOT! All you remember is some happy-loving Clana relationship that just did not exist. I WATCHED IT, thank you!
luckyjasonfan yeah I remember
@Roby95lana ~ Well, they still mentioned that Bart, Victor, etc were being HEROS out in the world... even when those Actors couldn't be on the show... they even had a Zatanna send Clois an engagement gift... so, IF Lana was somewhere out there... she could have been mentioned. Even by Chloe... but she wasn't.
why would cloe bring up lana at clois engagement that would be rude and hurtful
@Roby95lana ~ Yes, but then she got Super-powers to try to be like him... so, she wasn't exactly secure in their relationship.
Honestly I've never seen such a depressing teenager like Lana
This scene is an example of why Lois and Chloe were always better for Clark than Lana was.
And she did!
