That "beatable body" line has to be in the Overly Literal Translation Hall of Fame. I saw a different translation that just had him saying, "You make yourself an easy target," which sounds more like what he was getting at there.
I dunno, I think "beatable body" is the best word choice for Ishigami as the the benign incel he is at this point. It's just awkward enough with that possibly sexual undertone.
@@colemanroberts1102 Sure it "may" fit into his character but it's still not at all what he actually said which makes him sound even more like an incel.
It’s like translating “por si las moscas” as “for if the flies” instead of “just in case” or “tomber dans les pommes” as “falling in the apples” instead of “fainting”. If you did that kind of literal translation, people would think you’re a basket case. Speaking of that, foreigners would probably think _you’re_ a basket case if you literally translated that term to their language.
36:46 I like how even without knowing ab the tale of princess kaguya, Faroh still immediately grasped that this is foreshadowing 😪 she knows a good love story when she sees it 🥹
The story about Kaguya the Moon Princess that Shirogane references here does have parallels to Love is War that you can see in future episodes. If you know the entire story of Kaguya the Moon Princess, you will see parallels and references to the story that will impact the viewing much more. As to whether this story ends the same way, or whether it follows a different path to a different end, that you will have to see for yourself. Some of the endings of this anime also tell a short story as well that is worth watching, but has no bearing on the anime.
Actually, the endings are relevant to the series, though it's something of a spoiler. Seasons 1 and 2 are literally just their respective finales filtered through a fantasy lens, while season 3 and the movie do the same thing for events much later in the manga.
Nice to see more Kaguya-sama reactions! In case you didn't get the chance to research it, or in case you didn't know, some real-life facts that provide context: From what I understand, schools in Japan start their school year in April, but the student council seems to have its elections somewhere in the September-October range, can't fully remember when. Been a while since I looked at that. Also, the secret upstairs room in the student council room? That's referring to a time period when there were lots of protests by university students, often politically left-leaning; the inclusion of the room is probably referring broadly to societal struggles in Japan, but fully dissecting its purpose is probably for a video essay, not a TH-cam comment.
Actually kaguya was born in January the 1st, she is Capricorn I think, (I’m not into horoscopes but my mom is from January the 4th, I’ve overheard she talking about it some times)
Your appreciation of the series is the same for a lot of people : the first few episodes are not that great, but it only gets better and better. However, since there is this dumb rule of "first 3 episodes to decide if you continue", a lot of people drop it.

I kinda took it as him saying she has a punchable face

The werechad makes its appearance, Shirogane under the moon has no breaks.
Loved your reaction to Kaguya and Shirogane's interaction at the end there. I love how the show really gave weight to the moment.
Finally, just as the holy books and prophets promised long ago: Kaguya-Sama is back on the channel, Baby.
