He let Arthur behind in the last shooting He coulnt have helped him. But he wanted Arthur dead. He has done the same to John. He tried to get John and Arthur killed. So he doesn't has to share the money. Arthur sacrificed his heart and life for the son of a bitch and what did he get for it in return a bullet in his face.

exactly, i got the "best" ending, by chance, since i wanted to get the extreme achievement and it didnt come natural to me to go kill entire villages(i almost always took the honorable decision, aside from the prospector or some random eye witness here and there and the accidents here and there)... but to me, dying by micah is by far the most fitting end to this story... its just more "western"... just if only you could get to kill both micah and dutch as john... well... i mean in rdr2 at least... i mean they dont even give you micah ffs... even that the fucking dutch has to ruin... as if he cared for anything that fucking hypocrite... this was my biggest disappointment in this game... you dont get to kill nobody you REALLY want to kill... i only enjoyed the escape from colm's "cottage", where i ramboed every motherfucker in my way... not even fucking milton... not even bronte... not even that braithewhatever lady... or the other cunts(dont remember their names)... the only people that annoyed me that i got to kill were those twins that bought the cattle for pennies and i just shot them dead when i found them(i went to sell a horse, not knowing it was them that had the "fence" and i just killed them on the spot and never visited them again, dunno if they respawn or w/e)

It’s insane because the whole time the wolf/deer dreams were happening I kept getting wolf ones. But at the very end, protecting John was the last good deed I needed to push into high honor and I got the best ending. It really shows how every deed counts in this game. Rip Arthur Morgan.

same with me! it felt so, very rewarding especially that i knew i was low on honor and was trying my hardest to get his honor up before the last mission, once that last chunk starts and there's no break points between missions i figured it was far too late but i think the same that happened to u happened to me, because i too chose to help john and only then did i get the deer vision

The fact that Micah has to say “you’re not better than me Morgan” is proof that he knows he’ll never be as good as Arthur
LeafsFan21 The thing is. Because in that ending Arthur is dishonorable, he feels he can excuse himself and say Arthur is worse. But in the high honor ending he doesn’t say it, because even he knows Arthur is better then him. That’s also probably why he doesn’t shoot him, because it would just prove him right even more.
@@kaijuslayer3334 I always felt the good endings to be unrealistic. They're nice, but unrealistic. There's no way Micah would just walk away and let Arthur live. He would want the satisfaction of killing him. It's because of that that I actually prefer the dishonorable endings.

I loved my horse and when he said Thank You as it breathed its last it made me tear up and that says much. Such a powerful scene.

When my white Arabian Epona died, I was pissed and sad. I got another white Arabian and named her Epona Jr.

I was not very full of honor, there was everytime some action that got me that minus points. And now I am a little bit disappointed with the ending. Well, at least I died helping John. And sad. Sad, that my Horse, that helped me the entire game trough, died in a fire I caused. It happened 10min before I hit the final quest. Now I'm crying over my memories. Except the entire point of the game was Arthur trying to redeem himself for his past mistakes. That’s why it’s called “Red Dead Redemption”. Arthur wouldn’t go back for the money because it wasn’t important to him. What was important was giving John the life Arthur couldn’t have so that’s why I say the good ending when you go with John is canon.

I meant the title of the series. The 2 has nothing to do with my original point. This game was about Arthur redeeming himself for being a ruthless outlaw. The first game is John trying to get away from his past by trying to save his family from a corrupt law enforcement agency while battling those he used to call friends.
Shadow of Dread no, if Arthur goes back for the money it isn’t because HE WANTED THE MONEY, it’s because he was getting revenge for the whole camp. Everyone risked their lives to get all of that cash and for what? To just die like dogs? Nah g, I had Arthur go back, not for the money necessarily but to kill Micah and make sure the Van Der linde's gangs name wasn’t in vain.
I got the beautiful number two ending, which i think is the best one. I just wanna say, if Arthur wasn’t litterally minutes away from dying of tuberculosis he whould’ve absolutely annihilated Micah

I ended the game on maximum honor on my first playthrough, it was perfection. The only thing that wasnt perfect was the fact that I didnt know I was getting into the final mission while I still had a side quest to finish off.

The ''bad'' endings are the best imo! So gritty and cold to see the character you spent 50+ hours playing as get treated like every other character you met up until that point. Beautiful game from A to Z, game of the decade for the 2010's without a doubt in my mind.
I think the best one is high honor go back for money. Arthur knows he's dying and he's just trying to make sure Micha doesn't get it. And you get to take his eye
I felt like that was dumb…. Best way to make sure Micah doesn’t get the money is going back to go kill him. I wasn’t expecting Arthur to go back for the money, I wanted to go kill Micah! When I saw these 2 options I turned off the game and didn’t finish it until like 2 years ago cuz I thought that ending was dumb.
u have to understand that in choosing the money it's obviously also choosing to fight off the gang because they are after the money as well. the stupid ending is saving john and having micah turning up out of nowhere when he should be near camp for the money.

exactly, the final death scene shown in the video is easily the most fitting for the game, whether arthur was honourable or not throughout thr playthrough. i thought the high honour endings felt too disney, they were too forgiving, considering arthur isnt exactly a great person despite him being the protagonist. seeing him killed in cold blood was shocking and sad for the player, but it shows the reality in being banded up with merciless outlaws, and it also sets up the epilogue perfectly as it gives the player more incentive to get back at micah and dutch

We all wanted Arthur to survive, but you have to remember that if he survived, the events of RDR would’ve never happened, so therefore, Arthur’s survival is inconsistent with the entire story. On top of that Arthur’s diagnosis & realizing that his time was running out was the turning point for the entire game. You truly get to see who Arthur was & what he wanted.
I honestly feel like Arthur’s death was what made him such an impactful character.
I wished I hadn't watched the alternate endings now as there is only 1 good ending here. But, I am so grateful that I got the sunset mountain ending as I would have been really disappointed if I got any of the other endings, they are all not very fitting to how a great character should die.

Just completed my 1st run-through with ultra high honor. And I gotta say when Arthur dies on the cliff overlooking that sunrise, I started bawling. It was one of the most beautiful things I've ever seen in any piece of media, given everything he had gone through and still did his best to lookout and help everyone he cared about to the end. Tho I must say him going back to camp with that music playing is badass

I like to think that we are Arthur. I mean he is not just a character but he is us, a real person. Everything he does is because of us, our decisions. I myself liked to help people. I died by tb, and honestly I like that ending the most. I teared up when the horse died, and seeing Arthur taking his last breath at a new dawn with the background music is heartbreaking.

I don't think I've ever killed anyone, apart from the ones in the story mode, I've always tried not to lose my honor
The differences between each ending where honor also plays a big role in are as follows:
With High Honor, a Buck/Deer moving out into the sunset will be seen after Arthur peacefully succumbs to his TBC. Mary Linton will see a Deer/Buck when she visits Arthur's Grave.
With Low Honor, a Coyote/Wolf returning back to the shadows in a cave will be seen after Arthur is murdered by Micah using either a revolver or a knife. Mary Linton will see a Coyote/Wolf when she visits Arthur's Grave.

With High Honor:
Arthur will be spared being killed by an extremely frustrated Micah. Arthur will crawl further to where dutch came from and eventually succumbs peacefully to his TBC while the sunset rises, allowing Arthur his redemption.
With Low Honor:
Furious about Dutch ignoring him, Micah walks forward to the mortally sick Arthur, pulling his gun on him. After a short hostile chat, Micah shoots Arthur in the head which earns Arthur his violent redemption.
In Return for the Money
With High Honor:
Arthur will be victorious against Micah in a knife fight, permanently damaging Micah's Left eye, blinding him and barely escapes an even more painful death by biting one of Micah's fingers allowing him to get a punch to knock him off him. Dutch enters the fight and stops them both. Arthur once again gets spared from an extremely frustrated Micah, who simply grabs the bag of Money dropped by Arthur and gets out of there. Arthur, wounded and mortally sick, turns around against the rising sunshine before collapsing from his wound and Tuberculosis, earning his redemption. (Extra bonus for those who Dislike Micah: When Micah is shown again 7 years later with John being the playable character, Micah will be sporting a large scar over his Left Eye entirely.)
With Low Honor:
Micah will be victorious against the Sick Arthur in their Fight, fatally wounding Arthur by successfully stabbing him in the chest with his knife. Before he can push the knife even further into Arthur, Dutch comes and interupts him. Arthur states that he simply came back for what's his. After a brief talk and Arthur having managed to get the knife out of his chest, he attempts to crawl away but Micah comes after him and delivers a final blow to Arthur by stabbing him in the back with a knife. Micah simply leaves.

Going for the money with low honor is the darkest of all.
I accidentally chose that one, alot of regret happened after that.
My favorite scene is Arthur passing on his things to John, his brother and only really friend he had left... I also like that both animals (Predator and Prey), symbolize Arthur's actions and sins. The Deer almost urges Arthur to follow it to the afterlife with a sunrise or sunset, showing Arthur's life may be over, but it's a sunrise for John and his new life. The Coyote on the other hand is scavenging in a thunder storm, it doesn't matter what happens, as long as it survives.. Either way, both of them looking at the camera is even more powerful, I love it! And "Unshaken", my theme song for Arthur, only makes this part of the game even more powerful.. This part of the game is probably my favorite and a nice way to end Arthur's Journey...

I got the sunrise ending and it looked so amazing with the sun shining through his 10/10 beard. Glad I had good honor, think I would have been disappointed with getting shot in the face

I’m lowkey glad that I got the low honor go with John ending because it just showed how devastating and saddening it is to see the character you have grown and done missions and seen progress throughout the game to just be shot in the head like it’s nothing....... let’s just say some tears were definitely shed

High Honor go with John ending should’ve ended with Micah leaving Arthur and then Dutch came back and sat with him in his last moments
You know 2 missions ago Dutch left both Arthur (the dude stabbing him in Cornwall oil) and John(when he was shot) for dead?
It would've been a nice way for Dutch to end his relationship with his oldest son, as like an apology for doing all that shit to him. But Dutch is too scared to admit he messed up, so that's why he didn't. It still would've been awesome though, probably would've redeemed Dutch for me a lot faster, but that shot on Micah was all I needed.
After my first play through of the game, I always take a breathe in the same moment Arthur takes his last.
This game had such a lasting impression.
Don't know about you, but I cried during the High Honor parts.

It's weird that in the mountain ending Dutch barely says anything but looks more visibly upset whereas if you go back for the money he says a lot more but doesn't look as sad. Either way, really good moment for Dutch's character.
I like to think that Dutch realizes his mistakes, which is why he leaves Micah
When I played this, my horse died in Chapter 4 after huge attack. When I got new horse, I loved it to shreds. And to see it go felt so saddening, and to hear Arthur say “thank you” just shows the amount of compassion Arthur can have.
During the entire game, I was always having the visions of the lone wolf until the ending, where once Arthur looked onto the sunrise, he saw a deer, and I knew that Arthur deserved to be said that he redeemed himself.
Rockstar did it again.They made me cry over the protagonist death again...
While the high honor/save John on the mountain death may be the most emotional I’ve ever seen, the seething last words echoing Hosea’s final words of advice in the low honor/go for the money ending hits different. “You let him damn us all Dutch...”

9:25 man the way they did that laugh... it's like "HAHAHAH I GOT YOU" but then he very quickly realizes it's a fake laugh and he's dead inside

Really glad I got the good ending. The minute after the Downes mission when he coughed in Arthur's face I knew that he would probably die, it was too obvious when he so clearly was very sick and coughed him in the face. As a rockstar fanboy I suspected that the honor would have a purpose with the endings as well. Guess all those thousands of greets with townspeople paid off.
i got the honorable death on the mountain. seeing, and hearing, arthur take his last breath while staring at the sunrise was so sad to me. i literally cried so much✨ i’m at least happy he got to pass somewhat peacefully rather than being stabbed or shot. even visiting his gravesite after playing as john, i still felt sad but happy that charles barried him the way arthur wanted too. and with arthur’s headstone facing the east so he can watch the sunset🥺the detail in this game is so beautiful. especially with his headstone area being covered in flowers since i had the maximum honor and when you go to his gravestone area there’s an eagle above flying around it

At first I was an outlaw with low honor, while searching for outfits for Arthur I came across a black coat that you could only get if you had high honor. Even though I wanted to remain an outlaw I still wanted the coat so I worked from the lowest honor point to the highest and got the coat, as well as the buck scenes and the best ending. High Honor is the best way to go in this game.

i liked the gone for money ending with low honor, its more intense than the others and dutch walking away feels a lot more natural, and then micah walking back to finish off arthur, i can imagine how people yelled at their tv's lol
All these people saying there will be a sequel to red dead one clearly haven’t thought about it I mean it was set in 1911 for god sake it would at least have to be like 5 years later for it to be progressive from red dead one which means it would be like 1916 and the ‘wild west’ is pretty much over. I think the best thing they could do is actually make a prequel to red dead 2 ie before Blackwater set In like 1885.
I want a RDR 3 with Charles from 1908 in the North. Even though I saw a buck the whole time in the game, and the wolf only in the credits, I thought that that lone wolf actually referred to Charles. I could be wrong, but I would really like a Native-American, African-American character like Charles as the main protagonist. Set in Canada or in the Northwest.
Owen Pryce I think for rdr3, they should give up on the legacy of the van der linde Gang, and make the game about characters we haven’t met yet, maybe have the game take place around the civil war

Arthur contracting TB was a stroke of absolute genius by the writers. In what other game have you played a terminally ill character? It gave fantastic depth to his motivations leading up to the ending as his death was preordained and he simply had to choose how to die and who to be when he did. A tragic character up there with the best in fiction. And despite what some people have said I think all four endings display this well, although I do personally prefer the 'go with John' endings. Watching Arthur sigh his last breath at the dawn of a new day, or hearing him cry 'damn us both!' in fearless acceptance of Micah's victory and of his own lawless life are both chillingly poignant to me.
so the only difference between good and bad endings is Micah letting Arthur die on his own, and Micah finishing Arthur. And the buck vs. the wolf. eh.
I see the 1st one as the "true" ending. I don't believe Micah would spare Arthur after almost being murdered by him. And Arthur, being the caring person he is, helping John is certainly the best route
Theres another difference. With high honor, if you go back for the money, you get to permanently scar micahs face and ruin his eye forever

Those moments when the songs started playing, either while riding your horse, or when Arthur or someone else dies, it truly is just beautifully done, this game was so amazing and the art and music was as well, watching Arthur died was one of the saddest moments, but even after that the game was amazing, 😭
Arthur’s death is really sad, reminds me of killing off Michael in GTA V and being sad thinking franklin killed someone who showed him decency and was a parental figure to him

The last one was the saddest to me. Arthur died alone, in a very painful way. When he got stabbed in the chest he sounded so scared of what he knew what was to come.
I don't get why Arthur didn't just throw Micah off the cliff on the good ending. He could've survived if he did. Like you know how they were grappling and throwing each other around? He could've grabbed Micah and tossed him off.

I feel like this is one of the best and most emotionally driving games rockstar has ever produced, with and ending good enough to pull tears from your eyes.
I love how Micah wears black and red. While arthur wears beige and blue. Really hints towards us who the villain is in the story
This was the saddest ending for a protagonist I have ever seen... John is fun and all but I am always going to miss Arthur. At least in my playthrough he died watching the sunrise on a mountain. RIP arthur
