George IV's Final Performance @ The Grand Ole Opry, Nashville, Tennessee was on Saturday, September 6th, 2014 w/ George Hamilton V. Their Final Opry Show Together Opened with "Abilene" and Closed with "Forever Young" -- a FAVORITE of George IV by Bob Dylan.

I supplid the sound system for george three times when he came to Boston UK, He let me play His guitar while he signed autographs, Iwent out the next day and bought one the next day. A truly GREAT GENTLEMAN of Gospel and Country Music, RIP.
I met George IV when he visited NZ in 1981 and he came to be a guest at the Gold Guitar Awards. He was a true gentleman and so down to earth. Miss his presence in this world.
Such a wonderful song that meant so much to George IV himself and well it still touches me but yes i am looking forward to the day I will meet up with George IV again and we can have a great Jamming session. God Bless R.I.P. Dear George.
Fantastic guy, I think we met on stage and sung the best gospel song ever... together it was Abilene I think, I am 92 now and have a faint recollection

Had the pleasure of meeting George Hamilton IV when I toured the Grand Ole Opry this past summer. He came on out, surprised our group backstage and we shared a few laughs with him. He was very personable and a true gentleman. RIP, George.

Just heard this song for the first time, and I'm in pieces! Last month was the 6th anniversary of when we lost our son who was only 21, and the words and sentiment from George and his son really got to me. Thanks for a beautiful song. RIP George and Christopher.x

Just saw it on his FB page and I'm very saddened by his passing. My uncle worked with him on The Arthur Smith show and had many great things to say about him. RIP, George.

George IV was a regular at the massive annual Americana International Festival since '92 and his son George V was also a regular performer for the last twenty plus years. I remember the 'fourth' singing this song on his very popular Sunday morning country gospel show. Written by George V it sums up the entire Hamilton family of being warm hearted and genuine people. This July 12th we are staging a one off tribute to IV which will be hosted by George V & Irish songbird Sandy Kelly in a two hour salute to a man who was an integral part of the Americana International Festival.
