Love how someone said "the creator of the game doesn't like people comparing it to fnaf" when the creator explicitly says it was inspired by the VHS fnaf trend. The creator literally compares it to fnaf in a ton of interviews, thought that was just hilarious
Yeah, and also it's about two guys co-founding an animatronic restaurant business, one of whom starts killing people and stuffing them into the animatronics after his children are killed. Sounds a little familiar.
I had also heard (before the stream) that same statement. I would think that he wouldn’t want it compared because its his own work and him comparing it to FNaF is just to help people imagine the series better.
What they meant is that the creator said he didn't like being seen as nothing more than a Fnaf clone, because although it's clearly inspired by it and there are a lot of similarities, The Walten Files is it's own thing.
This series brings up one of the things that scares me the worst, which is messed up faces. Uncanny faces or especially human faces that have messed up proportions and stuff freak me out more than anything.

The thing is that proper analog horror relies on the viewer’s suspension of disbelief / imagination, creating somewhat unsettling imagery to have the viewer get afraid by themself. For example, the Mandela catalogue has a section where a person is stuck in a room with the door slowly opening. This is not really scary by itself, but with the surrounding context (people wanting to kill him, the whole thing with alternates) it’s pretty freaky. It has the viewer put in the horror by itself What this means is that your mother probably wasn’t invested enough because, obviously, in the beginning, there’s no reason to. Your mother probably also wasn’t really thinking about it creatively and in general. Analog horror is somewhat flawed in that sense but it is also its greatest strength, if that makes any sense
JEJJDEJDJ yeah, still ik this comment is a joke, but still, it was just the first video and maybe the second one, because after watching it jack definitely likes it and finds it scary

Uncanny stuff freaks me out so much for some reason, and the Walten Files really does it for me. One of the many reasons I like analog horror, I suppose.
When jack was talking about his fear of technology, i related but in a different way. I relate in ways of it just malfunctioning in a horrifying way, or just eerie malfunctions. Like its fine because you know its supposed to be scary in this series, but imagine if youre playing a game, and it malfunctions and finds out your name and the faces distort like omg. As a 2000s kid whenever id watch like a Blu-ray dvd and the dvd would be scratched or whatever and it would just stay on the blue blu-ray screen, especially at night and its dead silent, that scared the shit out of me. Same for pc bluescreens. Its not just game malfunctions, just like any malfunctions that distort the gameplay and shit. Like i will take a shit on the spot.
same like my computer malfunctioned as a kid and i was watching a video and so the audio was distorted and i got so scared for so long i didn’t want to touch it for so long i’m still scared to touch computers at times
Have to get this off my chest. when I was seven. I had a dream the joker was in my Minecraft world making it hell. I didn't get back on the world for months, and I'm still kinda scared of something like this happening in a video game.
1:33:45 damnnn i had the exact same fear when i was younger. i was always afraid that our computer would turn on and have a face and look at me, for no reason at all
I recently listened to a horror podcast where whenever one of the characters looked at a screen, a 17 hour video of someone eating a computer monitor and keyboard played until they had seen all 17 hours and now I’m afraid that I’ll be casually watching something or playing something and that video will come on.
1:02:10 Just noticed that the theme at the beginning of the game is literally the S.O.S signal in Morse code ••• --- ••• I just think it's a cool detail
1:42 it's propaganda actually Jack, Freddy was actually deployed to war. He unfortunately succumbed to his injuries during battle and so Bon's Burgers was created to fill the void in the Nation's hearts
i hope jack goes on to make more analog reaction streams. there’s so many good channels for them like Gemini home entertainment, local 58, squimpus mcgrimpus’ fnaf vhs tapes are good too, the mandela catalogue, the backrooms and honestly there’s a lot of good underrated ones. it’s my favorite type of horror tbh
trying not to freak out but the walten files is my favorite horror series! edit: it's also amazing on how jack pays a lot of attention and specially in spot the difference XD. i also find it nice that jack is interested in the lore. best twf reaction!
The only thing that's ever scared me about the dsmp was that broken disk moment in the trap dream put in tommy's house. that was just a 'wtf he crazy' moment
If you want to see more creepy stuff from Martin Walls, I recommend you take a peek at some of the spin-offs of the Walten Files he made. “The Mysterious House” is particularly scary and in some ways-unfortunately-realistic.
Hey Jack! got a reccomendation for a mixed media project Its called "Mystery flesh pit national park" and there's loads of youtube videos about it. (its not creepy, its just plain unsettling and weird)
I have watched the Walten files so many times that at this point I’m desensitized to it, but this vod is the first time I found out about the website and that? That creeped me the fuck out. Yeah screaming and loud noises are whatever but just, the silence of looking for something in a website that is disturbing and feels almost directed towards you freaks me the fuck out.
Oh boy, I have many recommendations for analog horror. Battington tapes, memebear, squimpus mcgrimpus, local 58, Gemini home entertainment, ch/ss, Mandela catalogue, the backrooms, and more.
1:47:29 a little fun fact about this scene at the split second, aparently that was supposed to be telling you on how charles died and from what i know is that charles was setting up a birthday party in the dark in the resteraunt and bon was in the room with him and attacked him.
(sorry for my bad english) yes and when it showed that messed up boozoo,s face the Sound is like bon is walking and finding Charles. And probably we,re gonna see more of his Character in walten files 4 which is coming soon
ohh jack is going to get so messed up by the mandela catalogue with his fear of technology acting on its own 🥰 i hear the sus guy is in it.. hes pretty scary yk 😨
this is my favorite type of horror because its what scares me the most. when its the atmosphere alone that almost brings you to tears and makes it hard to breathe, you know that its very well made.
watching this and my name is sophie so i completely understand how jack feels when it comes to feeling like they’re talking to you when they somewhat aren’t
Something I haven't seen pointed out is that the brief scene at 12:10 is from Marble Hornets. Jay says that while running from Slendy boi... unless it's just my imagination making me think it's him, though I have watched through the whole thing about 10 times... I think it adds a cool extra layer though, like a call back to one of the OG analog/TH-cam horror series'.
hey jack, just wanna say that i love this and I too had too turn the lights on to watch this and what i love about this most is"Now That Interstate Is Paved With Memories"
"Do you ever just want to squeeze yourself?" Idk why, but that shit got me 😂 In all seriousness, I love this kind of horror! It's just creepy and unsettling... like a messed up kind of puzzle you're trying to put together, but you don't quite have all the pieces.
Honestly?? I like horror because it's something stimulating, to the point where I'm usually unphased/listen to it in the background. But the website stuff is where it did feel wrong, from the fact that you suddenly hold control over what you do on there 👀
the backwards message in the begining translates to "We finally start to remember... that old doll! It will be back for you soon, sophie." just a btw for later referance.
My first real exposure to Jack Manifold and he's honestly quite better than alot of other streamers when it comes to this stuff. He actually cares about whats happening and thats cool. I hope whenever Walten Files 4 comes out he reacts to it along with the holiday specials

at 31:46 the song of lacrimosa gets distorted while the imagery behind it is actually footage of a sport where back when rabbits were considered pests, people would bludgeon them to death in large amounts. It was sad and that's why this scene was so unnerving for me.

Jacks fear of weird glitches and such in technology was a major thing for me as a kid, maybe just because at the time I didn’t have much exposure to games and things. So I get it
02:43:00 agreed. I'd been thinking that since the scene right before the crash, maybe even before when Sophie started remembering just a bit more and recognizing them.
You're an absolute chad for watching this whole thing through! The W files are very intriguing imo. But i only got watched them half way through up to now. This series is a true nightmare trip.
While watching this I fell off my bed and looked at the floor for a second and thought I saw something. I looks back at that area and a fucking tiny baby was under my bed. I never got a tiny baby
(sorry for my bad english) yes and when i more rewatch it. I find even more hints to the story. It has Really vast and Deep lore to the story and i love it. And the walten files 4 is coming soon so we are gonna see more of the story
Here are the best VHS horror series on TH-cam, so if anyone interested just watch these: 1: Squimpus mcgrimpus tapes (this is where VHS horror started, it was after these amazing videos that people took inspiration and created their own. This is the absolute best made VHS series, the horror elements are on another level than just creepy faces and loud noises) 2: the Walten files 3: Local 58 (this came out even before Squimpus, but neither was Squimpus inspired by it. This got popular after Squimpus videos and people started noticing this channel. It’s also not THAT scary, but focuses only on making you uncomfortable, and it succeeds. It’s probably just as well made as Squimpus) 4: The Mandela catalogue (all over the internet, really good) 5: Gemini Home Entertainment. (This is one of the scariest, but its missing some very important VHS factors and elements. Think of it as the opposite of Local 58. Very scary but not that well made)
his intro enthusiasm reminds me of the smiles people give for pictures, like he keeps it up for the camera then once its done he immediately drops the mood and returns to null face.
Bro the dog in the window song brings back memories. I was in a rehab in Germany and an Australian guy was there with me and he was a very good friend. One day we ( + one friend we’ve known for a long time in rehab) decided to take a taxi to a busy German town that had a load of shops. In one shop in particular we saw a dog in the window where they showcase products but this dog was perfectly placed besides a price sticker. My Australian friend started recording a video and singing “how much is this dog in the window~” i was unaware and said “49.95” and until this day we still joke about it and pass the video around to our friends. 2 months ago our friend in the clinic sent us a picture of the dog that was again in the same place

Kind of like playing DDLC and not knowing it’s a horror game and getting intense whiplash
same like my computer malfunctioned as a kid and i was watching a video and so the audio was distorted and i got so scared for so long i didn’t want to touch it for so long i’m still scared to touch computers at times
I was scared of my washing machine coming to life because of that one danny phantom episode lol
Have to get this off my chest. when I was seven. I had a dream the joker was in my Minecraft world making it hell. I didn't get back on the world for months, and I'm still kinda scared of something like this happening in a video game.
1:33:45 damnnn i had the exact same fear when i was younger. i was always afraid that our computer would turn on and have a face and look at me, for no reason at all
YES SAME
i never had that fear until i saw the mandela catalogue
now why would you say that, knowing that I would start thinking that
I was always afraid of it randomly turning on at night to emit loud af screeching
I recently listened to a horror podcast where whenever one of the characters looked at a screen, a 17 hour video of someone eating a computer monitor and keyboard played until they had seen all 17 hours and now I’m afraid that I’ll be casually watching something or playing something and that video will come on.
1:02:10
Just noticed that the theme at the beginning of the game is literally the S.O.S signal in Morse code
••• --- •••
I just think it's a cool detail
What i never noticed that. That's so cool!
im glad i found another person who noticed it ! i was watching and heard it and wrote it down lol
:0 i knew i heard morse code!
it’s also named sounds of surprise! which also says sos!
I don't know an ounce of Morse Code, thanks for the translation
1:42 it's propaganda actually Jack, Freddy was actually deployed to war. He unfortunately succumbed to his injuries during battle and so Bon's Burgers was created to fill the void in the Nation's hearts
I love the fact that jack was so pissed off about Sophie being bad at hide and seek
i hyperfixated on the walten files for a month or so.
you have no clue how much i love this series
yeah i do
i hope jack goes on to make more analog reaction streams. there’s so many good channels for them like Gemini home entertainment, local 58, squimpus mcgrimpus’ fnaf vhs tapes are good too, the mandela catalogue, the backrooms and honestly there’s a lot of good underrated ones. it’s my favorite type of horror tbh
i'd recommend you "the monument mythos" too, that one is sooooo good
I love how one of the pioneers of fnaf style analog horror is named “Squimpus Mcgrimpus”
@@spaceybunny00007 it doesn't have a name so they just call it Squimpus McGrimpus because that is the name of the creator
trying not to freak out but the walten files is my favorite horror series!
edit: it's also amazing on how jack pays a lot of attention and specially in spot the difference XD. i also find it nice that jack is interested in the lore. best twf reaction!
You should watch ZachBeal‘s twf reactions! His reactions are really entertaining and he really seems to enjoy the series :]
Jack: I am about to be, honestly, slightly unnerved by a fictional series!
Me: couldn't happen to me- **remembers that I watch dsmp**
After seeing this I am no longer in a joking mood, it's now more of a "oh no I should hide under my blankets from the nonexistent monster" mood.
The only thing that's ever scared me about the dsmp was that broken disk moment in the trap dream put in tommy's house. that was just a 'wtf he crazy' moment

JACK GETTING SO SCARED AT 2:07:06 WITH HIS LEGS PULLED UP TO HIS CHEST IS SO FUNNY
As someone who has been a fan of the walten files since the first episode, I am SO HAPPY its finally getting recognized.
"HOW ARE YOU CHILL I'D BE IN TEAAARS!!!"
Sophie is the queen of chill. Like, polar ice caps chill.
I love the fact that at 47:22 jack laughs about the goofy face ans then it starts screaming
jack: "i miss when youtubers had lore" like he didnt just watch a markiplier video... that man literally wont stop making lore
If you want to see more creepy stuff from Martin Walls, I recommend you take a peek at some of the spin-offs of the Walten Files he made. “The Mysterious House” is particularly scary and in some ways-unfortunately-realistic.
Yeah it,s great
Hey Jack! got a reccomendation for a mixed media project
Its called "Mystery flesh pit national park" and there's loads of youtube videos about it. (its not creepy, its just plain unsettling and weird)
SO TRUE
I'll check it out
@@hal6568YEA!
1:02:13 The fact that the little noises ( bips) spell S.O.S in morse code is amazing
You know now that you mention it you kind of do look like Jack Walten
Jack Walten is an entirely different race 😭😭

Oh boy, I have many recommendations for analog horror. Battington tapes, memebear, squimpus mcgrimpus, local 58, Gemini home entertainment, ch/ss, Mandela catalogue, the backrooms, and more.
man jack is so smart how does he get the events so correct-
I LOVE THE WALTON FILES I WATCH THEM EVERY NIGHT TO FALL ASLEEP
You… you what..?
😦🕶️👌..
so the next afton is here huh cool
Oh…… cool?
Now, how do you do that 😕😕😕
1:47:29 a little fun fact about this scene at the split second, aparently that was supposed to be telling you on how charles died and from what i know is that charles was setting up a birthday party in the dark in the resteraunt and bon was in the room with him and attacked him.
(sorry for my bad english) yes and when it showed that messed up boozoo,s face the Sound is like bon is walking and finding Charles. And probably we,re gonna see more of his Character in walten files 4 which is coming soon
ohh jack is going to get so messed up by the mandela catalogue with his fear of technology acting on its own 🥰 i hear the sus guy is in it.. hes pretty scary yk 😨
yea the jerma face LMAO
Wait you watch the Mandela catalogue? Me too OVO
@@arandomdoggo4you939 wtf is this
@@wiredmaus_2 what?
this is my favorite type of horror because its what scares me the most. when its the atmosphere alone that almost brings you to tears and makes it hard to breathe, you know that its very well made.
Learned a new thing about jack:
He used to be an “IT support guy” lol
watching this and my name is sophie so i completely understand how jack feels when it comes to feeling like they’re talking to you when they somewhat aren’t
"Rabbit is starving"
"i don't care, get your employees to make you a burger or something"
Something I haven't seen pointed out is that the brief scene at 12:10 is from Marble Hornets. Jay says that while running from Slendy boi... unless it's just my imagination making me think it's him, though I have watched through the whole thing about 10 times... I think it adds a cool extra layer though, like a call back to one of the OG analog/TH-cam horror series'.
hey jack, just wanna say that i love this and I too had too turn the lights on to watch this and what i love about this most is"Now That Interstate Is Paved With Memories"
"Do you ever just want to squeeze yourself?"
Idk why, but that shit got me 😂
In all seriousness, I love this kind of horror! It's just creepy and unsettling... like a messed up kind of puzzle you're trying to put together, but you don't quite have all the pieces.
Honestly?? I like horror because it's something stimulating, to the point where I'm usually unphased/listen to it in the background. But the website stuff is where it did feel wrong, from the fact that you suddenly hold control over what you do on there 👀
Thank you mr Walten for having subtitles on this video. Can’t stop the Jack Walten grind!
People I genuinely like started watching the walten files, this is like a dream come true
I like how through out watching this seeing Jack Walton’s face turns from an Easter egg to a rick roll equivalent
the backwards message in the begining translates to "We finally start to remember... that old doll! It will be back for you soon, sophie." just a btw for later referance.
Thanks!
(sorry for my bad english) No it,s (they will be back for you soon)
My first real exposure to Jack Manifold and he's honestly quite better than alot of other streamers when it comes to this stuff. He actually cares about whats happening and thats cool. I hope whenever Walten Files 4 comes out he reacts to it along with the holiday specials

at 31:46 the song of lacrimosa gets distorted while the imagery behind it is actually footage of a sport where back when rabbits were considered pests, people would bludgeon them to death in large amounts. It was sad and that's why this scene was so unnerving for me.
i had this in my queue and then fell asleep, woke up ten minutes into this video from a thoroughly disturbing nightmare. time to start from the beginning and see how much of it was inspired by this video :) can't stop that manifold grind
Nexpo theorizes that the voice that called Rosemary back stage was Sophie. But I am more inclined to believe it was Felix finished what he started.
Jacks fear of weird glitches and such in technology was a major thing for me as a kid, maybe just because at the time I didn’t have much exposure to games and things. So I get it
nothing makes me feel uneasy EVER but the whole bunnyfarm episode
02:43:00 agreed.
I'd been thinking that since the scene right before the crash, maybe even before when Sophie started remembering just a bit more and recognizing them.
You're an absolute chad for watching this whole thing through! The W files are very intriguing imo. But i only got watched them half way through up to now. This series is a true nightmare trip.
True
While watching this I fell off my bed and looked at the floor for a second and thought I saw something. I looks back at that area and a fucking tiny baby was under my bed. I never got a tiny baby
U good?
Bro?
3 sentence horror story.
someone read this like it was a real baby, I know they are out there
i laughed so hard at this comment
I had no clue that this story went this deep and had this much lore behind it until I watch this
(sorry for my bad english) yes and when i more rewatch it. I find even more hints to the story. It has Really vast and Deep lore to the story and i love it. And the walten files 4 is coming soon so we are gonna see more of the story

When Ashley put the tape inside the clown my dumbass thought it was the song all I want for Christmas is you 😭😂
Here are the best VHS horror series on TH-cam, so if anyone interested just watch these:
1: Squimpus mcgrimpus tapes (this is where VHS horror started, it was after these amazing videos that people took inspiration and created their own. This is the absolute best made VHS series, the horror elements are on another level than just creepy faces and loud noises)
2: the Walten files
3: Local 58 (this came out even before Squimpus, but neither was Squimpus inspired by it. This got popular after Squimpus videos and people started noticing this channel. It’s also not THAT scary, but focuses only on making you uncomfortable, and it succeeds. It’s probably just as well made as Squimpus)
4: The Mandela catalogue (all over the internet, really good)
5: Gemini Home Entertainment. (This is one of the scariest, but its missing some very important VHS factors and elements. Think of it as the opposite of Local 58. Very scary but not that well made)
Don’t forget harmony and horror (battington), the monument mythos is also really good!
How can you say gemini isn’t well made? It’s got the 80s vhs aesthetic down to a T
@@AlanHarnish tbf you are right. I may have been too ignorant when I wrote this. I think I personally just didn’t think it was as good as it’s rivals

There’s some in there :)
(I’m unfunny, I know)
his intro enthusiasm reminds me of the smiles people give for pictures, like he keeps it up for the camera then once its done he immediately drops the mood and returns to null face.
It was funny how jack’s smile fades on 47:23 I can’t stop laughing because he said her face is kinda goofy and then his smile just fades away 😂
The Tinder adverts on the VOD every 20 minutes were the only thing keeping me going because they made me laugh
“We’re about to matpat in this bitch” is now a term I will use from not til forever

The Walten Files are scary as hell but you should see the other files, jack...if my fellow horror enjoyers know the other files, I'm sorry.

Something people probably missed:
In the bunnyfarm video when the title screen shows up the initial music beat is morse code for SOS
I just realized the picture in spot the difference with billy is literally hinting towards the car crash
I do love the use of Heartaches in the videos, its a great old song that's really been outshined by Just a Burning Memory
