The best Pokémon fan game of all time in terms of difficulty and atmosphere.
I would have to agree, from the ones I have played. This is truly a spectacular game that I can't wait to see finished

I just beat Serra on my first play though yesterday. What an actual nightmare.
I used Klinklang with mirror shot and did massive damage with perfect accuracy

I don’t think I’ve ever suffered more in a video game than I have with this theme playing in the background. Terrain effects can go die in a fire. Every gym leader in this game is just Whitney times a billion, but that’s also what gave me the ‘Undertale Genocide Route’ feeling of ‘YOU MUST SEE THE END SCREEN NO MATTER WHAT’. Unlike Pokémon Insurgence, which I loved to death and wanted to beat bc I was invested in the story and characters, I just have this love/hate relationship with Pokémon Reborn. I hate it because of its unholy difficulty, but I also love it because said unholy difficulty is making me think outside the box to out-strategy the game. Never thought I’d get this out of a Pokémon game of all things, which is exactly why fangames are so great. Currently stuck on the Ice leader. Wish me luck. I WILL beat Pokémon Reborn one day. I know I can.
Edit: I beat the ice leader. There haven’t been any big roadblocks so far yet and progress is relatively smooth, even though most boss fights do take a couple of resets. I wrote this comment in a rage, and it shows, but I still have the same love-hate relationship with the game.
The difficulty broke me. It pains me so much that a game with such a rich set of characters and a compelling story sees it's narrating course blocked by such walls. I felt powerless at the gyms. Somehow, I managed to get to Charlotte before giving up, but dang, I almost soft locked at Sirius' fight. I went on the discord to tell them the issue, but then, people mocked me as a whiner...
@@messmermusicals1367 I’m so sorry. They really shouldn’t have mocked you like that. You’re not a whiner, you’re not a loser, you just haven’t quite found the right strategy yet. What’s your team, and what does Sirius have that you keep losing to? I think I might be able to lend a hand. We’ll go through this nightmare-game together. (If you want to ofc). I answered to your comment to make you wary that the difficulty is so unholy it can make someone as compelled in the story as me quit. Reading your comment was like seeing a mirror of myself, so I had to interact with you. I did beat Sirius thanks to a lucky crit, and reached Charlotte, the fire gym leader. Sadly, between her hard hitting pokemons and agressive terrain, this was the final blow to me, and I gave up. I did try teaching my Ampharos rain dance, or training a Graveler or Rhydon, but it was without any effect. Even though I may have deleted the game, I would still love to have your discord to see your progress, or talk about the game's story.
@@messmermusicals1367 UltimateMoonlight#7762, and I have worked out a strat for Serra, Quiver Dancing until +6 with a Ribombee, but the problem with that is that crit ends me. I know for a FACT it’s possible to beat Serra that way, am currently grinding out attempts. I’ve climbed out of much worse situations than this in this game, so I think I can do this. Quiver dance saved my neck countless times in my Insurgence nuzlocke, which is why I thought it might be the solution here.
@@ultimatemoonlight4524 Serra is rather Easy, don't worry about it. I wasn't as strategic as you were however, I simply brute forced her with my medicham, Arcanine and using Power Gem on my Ampharos to exploit her field. My own discord is Zac Divine#2283

This might be my biggest "love/hate" game I've ever played. I've never forgotten it for a moment and always look back at it with some seriously conflicting feelings... But when it comes down to it, I don't think I can ever go back to regular Pokemon games after this one.
Love how everyone complains about Serra's field and I'm just sitting here with my Noivern.

So far I am loving this game, this is the most challenge I ever got from a Pokemon game since my first time battling Cynthia.

Man quiver dance rly fucked me sometimes, mostly with bannet and Charlotte, but it wasn't that bad, I've had worse battles. Like *takazel* or Terra, or most of the gym leaders really

I feel like I’m literally the only one that struggled with florinia..
But then again it’s not surprising considering I only had a frogadier and some fodder
even i struggled against her, only that my game was a randomizer and m pokemons overleveled so they were not listening to me. she wasa nightmare as i had 5 deaths in her gym in my randomizer nuzlocke
To be fair, her Cradily is tedious to whittle down without an answer.
I just beat it first try, but that cradily was fucking SCARY. I had my minccino use all 5 encore pp and slowly whittle it down while it failed stockpile, then switched to my brionne who had to use all 5 of their encore pp just to finally beat it with icy wind, it wasn't too bad after that. My team isn't exactly... a competitive one though (I have a Cherrim who has managed to sweep as a Cherubi, don't ask how) so I'm just expecting to hit a wall soon.
I struggled on my first three runs, then figured out if you get that Kricketot and evolve it, you blast through that shit. Use Focus Energy, and then go with Fury Cutter. You will DECIMATE the Cradily.
@kurokagator4567 Mankey is also a pretty solid answer to it. Gets Cross Chop at 22, so it's a 2HKO without crits

i played this game expecting a challenge and it was way more than that. I entered this with no game knowledge and Julia took me like 5 tries lol
Blissey with minimize, lax incense and echoed vocie can destroy several champions on its own, I recommand lmao
My Loudred with Focus Energy and Echoed Voice brought down the first four arenas, but now I'm stuck XD

For all of Reborn's many, *many* flaws and strange design choices... It has a lit soundtrack.

If you go into the game completely blind it is, as you have to strategise. Even if you copy strats there's still a massive luck element to the game
@@harryw3310 Agreed. You have to master the field controling if you want to win. Brute forcing isn't always the answer (especially in Doubles)

Super Salamence that’s hard to believe, you probably watched videos and formed some type of strategy to beat them.
Probably also didn't do the game on a nuzlocke challenge either.

Ttar has been doing a nuzlocke since August. And he managed to beat all Gym leaders 1st time for now. He has just beaten Shade.
