Definitely one of my favorite singers. His music is timeless and his voice is unmatched. After his accident, it was a wonder that Teddy was able to talk, let alone, sing! It just shows the vocal strength that this man has. To a wonderful singer....Mr. Teddy Pendergrass
Can you imagine, this talented man was just a young bloke when he was celebrated as such a gifted singer and performer, he was under 30 years of age! And despite his young years, his artistry was highly developed and matured. What amazing man Teddy Pendergrass was. His spirit and soul are eternal.
The accident happen a few days before his birthday in 1982. Wow, to live trough that, you must be a strong person. Him & Christopher Reeves are definitely strong to live for so many years to live with their spinal condition. R.I.P. Teddy!!
An excellent interview! He's doing the right thing by support and trying to get people to understand that spinal injuries have no cure but there is a need to know about research. Thanks for posting!
It's was so sad to see two vibrant, active, bright and talented individuals, like Teddy P and Chris Reeve, have to have faced the kind of tragedies that changed their life dramatically, from that point on...I admire the fact, that, Teddy was a realist and wanted to focus on how he could live life to his fullest, in spite of his then condition...It's interesting how, in the blink of an eye, life can change from triumph to tragedy...Teddy's sweet, soulful and seductive songs will live on forever!
Nothing like him. Never will be.!! Never will be musically and a Giant of a character!! Miss you Teddy bear!! You are what we need in this world!! True Grit and Loving heart for his public!!
Don't be sad, from his words, it appears he has a VERY rich life. there's probably a lot we can learn from his words an experience. I thank Teddy for all his great work through the years..
R.I.P. Teddy Pendergrass. Even though I didn't know your music well or never really was a fan and was born in the 90s, I still respect you because I've heard of you a lot and you are one of the legends and it's always sad when a legend dies.
Thank you Teddy! Thank you for your voice and soul that you have shown and dedicated in their music in Harold Melvin & the Blue Notes and his solo career. Rest in Peace Teddy!
Who ever it was that posted this interview of "Teddy". Thank u and god bless u!! As a g8 fan! Its so good to hear how he is doing, and looking so fine!!May the Lord keep on blessing you!! "We love u Teddy!!! xx
Interesting interview, esp. Pendergrass's clear distantiation from the Christopher Reeves position on disability activism. As Pendergrass puts it here: ‘I don’t want to foster [an expectation of] cure, I don’t think that’s a real thing to foster, for me I’d rather foster, emphasise, quality of life, I think that’s more important’.
Have never stop playing his music always will be number one singer in my book. Play his music every day and will continue to play will always be my best singer and will keep player his music every day His music makes me happy 😁😁😁 marcella.
Yeah he was fine and sexy can you imagine being in a room with this man and he starts to sing to you i would lose my mind I'd be all over Teddy Miss You Teddy
WOW...so inspiring. Man, I was almost when the accident happened, but I had known who Teddy was since I was about 4. Seeing these platinum records made me think of those days when you bought an album with the yellow label and pink "PD", you KNEW it was good music.
Teddy Pendergrass is the Greatest. Not just for his music, but all the background story. Somebody should've made a movie. I see it as a cautionary tale about hubris and redemption.
It's hard for people who once had the ability to walk normally to accept the fact that their injury is a permanent one, to the point where they can NEVER walk again! Everyone handles it differently. One can't fault the late Christopher Reeve for trying to find ways to make that possible again. But I think Teddy is taking a better approach. Spinal cord injury survivors need help NOW to live better, productive lives in spite of their disability!
Congrats to this interviewer 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 great questions great insight much respect lowering himself not to look down upon Teddy P🔥. Ohh Teddy was still the 💩🤩🖤
And with his stripes, we are healed. Isaiah 53:5, KJV. Accept the Lord Jesus as your Lord and Savior and receive his healing. You shall get it in the name of Jesus. Amen.
Read his autobiography "Truly Blessed", that book on Teddys life and the tragic event b4 and after the accident clears up all the ridiculous accusations. The answer to your question is in his book. Its a shame you had to use this site to view a question to an event that happened so long ago in his life. This site should be about people who are making their views on the artists musical talent and capabilities. And trust me without a shred of doubt Teddy Pendergrass has this in abundance.
Well, in the the interview, Teddy talks about that awful incident that cause his spinal cord injury. Since the subject was raise by Teddy and the interviewer, I think that it is appropriate to ask about the other person that was in the car when that infamous accident occurred. I was not asking the question in the negative nor was I calling his musical talent and capabilities into question. I was simply asking a question about a well-known event. Excuse me if I offended you.

What a gifted soulful singer. He sounds like he's a baritone with a tenor range. Or is he a tenor with baritone qualities?

He didn't know her.he was just giving her a ride home he met her at the bar. Nothing happened between them to, even she said it in an interview.
It's sad...out of all of the things you could've said about this legend - that's what you took the time to post. Sad, really sad.
My brother R.I.P
Country style baby
TP was an Aries the ram
Okay, your point is? Obviously, I thought I placed the "d." Would you like to comment on the substance of my statement?
You don't recover, it's for life.
