    In this video, I'm reviewing the new AI writing tool from Surfer SEO, called Surfer AI.
    How good is the content? How easy is it to use? Is it better than Koala Writer?
    And perhaps most importantly: is it worth the price of $29 per article?
    If you want to see how Surfer AI compares to Koala, here's the output from each tool for the same keyword: "how to cook bottom round steak"
    Surfer AI: docs.google.com/document/d/1i...
    Koala Writer: docs.google.com/document/d/1n...

    A great review! I wanted to see how the Koala output would score in Surfer; I created a Content Editor, and copied and pasted the Koala text. Surfer score was 68! Not bad for the price.

    Thank you for the review, Mike. Based on the discussions I've been reading, it seems right now it's a Koala Vs. Zimmwriter toss-up. Very few seem to be moving towards Surfer's one-click. They do like the other aspects of it, but not this. This all seems akin to the burger wars of the late 60s. Will Burger Chef pull ahead?

    I’m CEO of Surfer, thanks for this in depth review! I see that you kept the Anti-AI detection turned off. In this case, most of the articles will have 100% AI score on tools like Originality. If you want to avoid detection, turn it on and see the magic happen :)

    • @StupidSimpleSEO

      Thanks! Yes, as mentioned in the video, I kept it off because the tool said it would result in a lower content score and less frequent use of terms.

    Got in on the lifetime deal for Koala on launch. If Koala added the 5-featured competitors like Surfer and allowed you to give word count prompts, it would be a game changer! SurferAI with the pricing model vs Koala just doesn’t do it for me. I still love Surfer for adding entities and measuring against competitors. They both still work well together but are great in their own unique ways.

    A quick note on the images that Surfer placed in the article. I believe they do that because the alt text can add a decent amount of points to the surfer score. I use alt text a lot to use those hard to place phrases and really max out my score. So I think if you were to add images and the same alt text to the Koala copy, you may have had a similar score to the Surfer version.

    also you need to factor in that you have to have a $100/month subscription of surfer just to be able to use their AI writer, and then pay the $29 per article on top of that

    Compare Surgegraph to Surfer SEO

  • @baronvonricklive9687
    @baronvonricklive9687 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    You’re right. They’re going after the higher end market.
    If you’re charging $500/mo for SEO just for content this isn’t for you.
    If you’re charging $5,000/mo and providing backlink services and other services $29 is a drop in the bucket.
    Niche SEO sites can stick with Koala.
    Enterprise SEO has no issue with $29 per article when some can be as long as 5000 words

  • @supernichesiteblogging

    They overpriced surfer by so much. Taking advantage of people who haven’t built out their own prompts on ChatGPT or haven’t heard of other tools.
    If you care about Ai detection, both articles get 80% on content at scales AI detector whereas with a custom prompt I can get 95+ using 3.5 on ChatGPT.
    So basically surfer is an absolute joke in regards to pricing

      @poppyandmylo4802 ปีที่แล้ว

      Need to double check the effectiveness of this in a sec, but yes, you can feed URLs to Koala. You can add them to the additional prompt sections for the overall article and at H2 level. I presume that means you can also tell it to IGNORE URLs, so you could effectively get the same result as toggling competitor pages in Surfer

  • @naydendelchev

    With the current offer they are doing you get 25 articles + 15 free ones for $725 which works out $18.125 per article which is not bad for a fully written article in minutes. I have no association to surfer, but I am very much considering taking up this offer... What do you guys think?
    Also, does google really care about AI-written content? Should I be worried about publishing this type of content on my business website? Should I edit the content myself before posting it - any SEO pros out here to answer my question?

    • @StupidSimpleSEO
