I'd love an orchestration heavier on string instruments, but this was enchanting even without them! Love it!
This IS actually my profession… sort of. I'm a freelance film score composer, and my most recent project wrapped up recently. I found myself with some time to finish this arrangement and video, which I had started last March and put to the side for a while. I might just stick to doing these arrangements and videos full time!
I love how the tempo itself is supernatural
It’s very magical, beautiful! 😍🤩❤️🌟✨🌌🌌🌌
Wow the piano solo is pretty magical
I really enjoy how in this and your other arrangement you are sure to give every part a very interesting line and include the melodic line in nearly every instrument. Very impressive
I actually teared up a little bit at the crescendo at 4:25. The sheer talent in this is..... unbelievable. If I never see your name on TV or credited with a masterpiece it will be a sad time for the human race. You, sir, are an inspiration, and what the classical music industry needs.
Nick you are very talented, I think many of us wish we had this sort of talent... but unfortunately your talent could not save this song.
Man! This is very good. I would have loved to hear a good horn line with the countermelody, but Man! this is good.
I am a student of the scores of ravel, stravinsky, messiaen but I realize what is done here is very good. this young man knows what he is doing so well i began to like the main subject by its end. wont be looking for perry but will look for more from this able orchestrator.Piano part was esp. striking. Good work!
Thank goodness. If you weren't writing for movies (and hopefully games because this particular track was very reminiscent of Kingdom Hearts), I would have cried. I honestly hope to hear your work in bigger venues than TH-cam.
This was so beautiful!
You have a real ear for hearing things in orchestra, not an easy thing to do. I really like this arrangement that you made. Thank you very much for putting the hard work in. Kudos.
That was amazing!!!!! Thank you for arranging pieces like this wow
Best version of ET I have ever heard. Seriously, all of these orchestral arrangements you do are bloody fantastic, it's honestly a joy to listen to them all. You're got yourself a new fan here :)
Absolutely amazing

Speechless!!
You really are talented and amazing, seriously mind blowing.
Sara here, Nick...your neighbor (and your mom's friend) You are beyond AMAZING...keep it going. The right person is going to come along and hear you and I can't wait for that to happen for YOU!

Yes. Just. Yes.
This is dope
I'm not a percussionist, I just like using a lot of percussionists! :)
Im such a band geek lol. This is truly amazing. You are definitely gifted.
I love it. It sounds like it belongs in a Final Fantasy game.
wow!
Sure am! I'm hoping to have a new one done by next week.
Wow!
I'm subbing for sure!
Thanks! The video was made in Final Cut Pro X and the music was realized in Logic using a large mixture of different sample libraries (and myself on clarinet). The scrolling images of the score were generated through Sibelius, but I might use Lilypond next time.
2:35 Dat piano doh
I am subscribed, Sir. Bravo.
You sir have won the interwebs for being a complete BAMF.
It's known as a scoop, technically, but it's commonly referred to as a rip. It's kind of like the inverse of a fall-you start at an indefinite lower pitch and ascend to the written pitch within the span of a grace note (i.e., the scoop is played prior to the beat, but it occurs so quickly that it is considered part of the landing note, time-wise).
Wow ! I play violin and this is.. Wow!
Some very pretty and rather acrobatic piano in the molto rubato section. (Bar 50? right after the piccolo?) This arrangement is both anthemic and wonderfully cinematic. More layered than the lovely Ms. Perry anticipated, I'll wager.
A whole smörgåsbord of different sample libraries… LA Scoring Strings, ProjectSAM brass, some VSL woodwinds, Alicia Keys piano, TrueStrike percussion… All put together in Logic.
I think it could do with a bit more harmony and a more polyphonic texture as that's the vibe that the original piece gave me but it's still amazing in it's homophonic nature
Violins hell yeah
Wow.
amazing. Are you planning on doing any more songs?
I would like this a lot more if I hadn't ever heard the original
please post way more I really like your work..... just asking have you ever used hand bells in one of your pieces
Excelente, muito lindo.Será que é possivel obter cópia desse arranjo, para poder apresentar em uma banda estudantil?
Violinist here. Hell yeah
Oh my god
Ok I thought it was lame at first but then 00:39 wowowowowwww!!! Nice
Damn.
Hello I play the strings bass for school and was wondering do you actually have sheet music i would love to hear my fellow orchestra play some of these songs they are absolutely amazing.
awesome- almost better without the words lol
Please could you do an Orchestral version of Fallen Angels or Rebel Love Song by Black Veil Brides. How long did it take you to arrange that? I arranged Michael Jackson's Beat it for String as part of my Music GCSE appraisal and got an A* for it.
awesome! what's these software?
I love the mallet part :3 That's what I play
What was that mark on the French horn part on the last note?
are u a percussionist? in all arrangments on youtube,u have a solo for melodic percussion. :)
gd arrangement , but looking for more power
Its great but where is the timpani though
Would be amazing is in a couple of years you could put together a concert with a real orchestra to play these (If you do write more)
I would pay to see that.
HELL BVB
Loved it. Except I think there should be actual instruments playing. And more harmony. Melody was awesome, though.
Moar please!
Have you considered doing this for a living?
do taylor swift's "safe and sound"
Bass Clarinet solo :')
Thats what i play!
OMG!!!!!!!! xD
If they say modern music is becoming too simplified, why not fix it?
Get an orchestra to play this, and an opera singer. Translate the lyrics to Italian or Latin. Everything sounds better in Italian or Latin.
Okay, so it wasn't a piccolo? An Irish Flue? What?
Memebase represent :-)
Subscribed? Duh
I'm not a huge fan of Katy Perry ... I'm not a fan at all, in fact. But this version was just awesome
soprannaturale lol
