It´s a Talgo series 4 (IV), built in 1980´s. In my channel you can see this train (the same) in Murcia (souht spain)

Aunque las locomotoras tanto diésel como eléctricas, tienen una limitación de velocidad "de seguridad", en el caso de trenes de pruebas las velocidades se superan ampliamente tanto de las locomotoras como del material que es remolcado.
Una locomotora autorizada a 180 kms/h, para homologación debe superar esa velocidad al menos un 10% y supone desarrollar unos 198-200 kms/h.

It was 170 - 180 km/ hour speed not 190 km OK. Because the speedometer basement of WDP 4 is 180 . Then how it got 190 km ?? So ridiculous.

Did anyone see first coach of talgo which is lifted upwards from the front of first coach just coupled wrongly there is problem occured which is totally risky for travellers as well as Railways too as our LOCO is pulling first coach of talgo hence it was lifted upwards due to incompitable coupling with engine WAP 5 of INDIAN RAIL Ghaziabad section seen clearly in the picture... plz. think of it before it's mishaps.....Please Authority people or Media people ....pay attention its too serious....

The first coach you're referring to is the electric locomotive which is normally higher than the coaches.

Max speed of wdp 4d is 200kph
This trial with WDP4D was done at a speed of 180 kmph.

Wap5 and Wdp 4D can go to 200kmph easily
With modified gear ratios (and better aerodynamics), we have the wdp4d which can hit 215km/h and the experimental wap-7hs that can hit 250km/h, but was tested only up to 185km/h. Really, it's not a big deal for trains due to low rolling friction. More important are the tracks and gear ratios, we have more than enough power.

Hi Subrata, I agree that these locomotives are not aerodynamic but are adequately streamlined for speeds at which they normally operate!
