I love these videos so much, thank you for uploading them, it's a real service to Irish history you are doing by making these fascinating historical treasures available to all. Good on you

It's amazing what can be accomplished when people work together.

Creating tidy towns, what a great example this is to everyone, if we the people all over the world worked in a similar manner, life would be so much better, there would be no wars, can you imaging the vast saving there would be if there were not wars, the savings would feel all the hungry, house all the homeless, provide the very best free healthcare, provide clean drinking water and after all that had been paid for there would still be billions of pounds/dollars euros left over. Come on everybody let's give a go, we can do this and it will not cost us much of our spare time

Harry McQuade was my Grandfather's brother. The draper shop owner across the street from the bar my uncle John ran after Sammy McQuade died (former Cruiser weight boxing champion of All-Ireland) called the Anglers Rest. Next door was/is Fitzimmons newsagent where John bought his Irish Times for 40 years. The McQuade's were in virginia for over a century and still live in the Ballyjamesdough Road opposite the main church entrance. I enjoyed many many years of fun in Virginia before selling the cottage near the garden centre. Please reply if you know me or my family.

Can anyone tell me if there is still a lack of roadsigns in the country? I was forever getting lost in the backroads trying to find my way around. Is it still that bad?

You should try and use the main roads and if not try learning to read a map. or do you need a signpost for every step you take?

Yes, everything was more normal back then. There was order and peace. Since then it has become more and more chaotic and unstable and it is quickly spiralling.
