Thats all i do is record live in one room. All in the box 20 mic pres into aurora n ad/da, No bleed issues with proper gobo placement/ gates etc.. My band mates are old school and like wedges vs HPH mixes...
Ok this was very informative in less than 20 min🤓👍🏽 I’m just getting into tracking full bands in the same room. I’ll need to reach out for more info soon
Just wondering what the solution is for live multitrack recording, while allowing bands to have their own mixes. Exploring this option now. Digital mixers offer a lot of flexibility but are generally geared more towards live. Trying to find the best solution to get most quality out of Preamps and I/O, while allowing flexibility in monitor mixing (likely IEM or Headphone, but potentially wedge for vocals on case by case basis)
That was much info on the drum miking, and a little on the guitar...., and not much else..... vocals? Bass?.... A whole band in the same room tracking?
very informative, I am A newbie when it comes to recording. what does phasing mean and how do you check it. I am miking A 6 piece along with two condenser overheads, just one mike on each piece including one just stuck inside port hole on kick. thanks
We’ve temporarily taken it down. The course has gotten picked up by Produce Like a Pro/pro mix academy, and it’s going to be re-released in a couple weeks on their platform.
I own a mixer and I want to record a band, but I don’t know how to put the mixers chinch output into my Pc. Maybe I need an adapter or something like that? Maybe I have to buy an audio interface? I don’t know. Can anybody help me?
If your mixer has usb you can do it that way I think but yeah otherwise or most often you’d need an Audio interface with at least two inputs, use line in, from mixer. Or get an interface with say 8 mic inputs; skip mixer, if 8 is enough channels/ tracks.
Have you recorded a band live at the same time? Let us know!
Yep!
on it!
about to, nice video. So the bass is DI Im guessing? mightve missed that. cheers

I record bands in a room at a youth pop rock project. It took me a while to develop it but it's working very well now!

Hi. How to deal with snare buzzing that is triggerd by amps? It can really get extremely loud at some tones/chords.
Gates
Is the course still available? The link seems to dont work
I want to try the guitar amp trick, near the drums!
Curious to hear how does it sound!
Thank you
How do I get the course now that the link isn't working?
Great setup video and sharing it
Just like the PR20 I also have a lot of rejection from the rear
I have a 264 sq ft home studio. Do you think this technique would work in space that size?
