You sir, are slowly but surely, breathing new life into your beloved Macan. No need to spend thousands for many years on a new one. Plus, it's the experience which is always invaluable. Way to go!! 👍

Thanks man! Is also the emotional attachment. I’m surprising myself every day at how much I still like my Macan even after 10 years of ownership. Keeping her in good state of repair is adding to that bond. And makes it very difficult to justify spending the dollars on another one… I have a lot of video content on other work I have done in my Macan to bring a nice 2nd life into her… but little time for editing.

@@porscheDIY Most definitely the emotional attachment. Otherwise we'd all be driving Black Ford Model T vehicles, still in this era.

149K miles on my Macan and I did this two weeks ago. Somehow I was slowly losing coolant through the tank or cap. Not sure exactly how. I sucked the coolant out of the tank first, but after that, probably 5 minutes or less to actually change the tank.

Yes, thought about doing that, removing the coolant… but then said.. what the heck, I can just out my finger quickly over the orifice… wasn’t counting on losing control of the reservoir, but luckily for me it landed well. Maybe safer to remove the fluid.

@@porscheDIYnow I just need to do everything else to mine that you have already done to yours. I think I need some videos on replacing all the shocks.

@@thomasloper1205 Is your Macan suspension steel or air?

@@porscheDIYsteel springs. I replaced the control arms and front CV axels (with help!) and put a ton of antiseize on the pinch bolt. I really don’t want to take that off again. No clue what’s involved for the rear.

@@thomasloper1205 I did the same… tons of antiseize… I still need to edit my full front control arm replacement. You can watch my rear subframe replacement video so that you have an idea. But I have air suspension.

Do you need to do any bleed after installation to remove air?

Not for this… You are not introducing air into the system by just replacing the reservoir. When I replace coolant in the full system I use vacuum. I will soon publish a video where I show the replacement of my coolant pump and thermostat. I used vacuum fill for that one.
