they are getting better.after comparing with other brands,i found baofeng are your best starting point devices.other brands should not to worried as baofeng are bringing newcomer to their brands soon for sure(myself ending up to this hobbies badly)
Nice radio and excellent thorough review. The AM/aviation seems more like an afterthought with these radios but considering everything else works great who cares. 73s. 👍
Thanks for the comment! Yes the AM airband is pretty bad in this radio but as you say, it's a bonus feature. I know this can be rectified by a software update as it was done with the Quansheng and the Tidradio TD-H3 also managed reasonable performance so maybe Baofeng might fix this in the future. Overall I've enjoyed using the radio and over the past 3 weeks I've been using it as my main HT on 2m.
Every baofeng review video needs to show the harmonics on a spectrum analyzer. A TinySA and a decent attenuator are so cheap, it is feasible for anyone to do it.
Yep. they didn't certify the device for any type of IP rating. I've used it in the rain and it was fine but a lot of the chinese manufacturers don't bother with certification...
@Transmission1 That is odd because Baofeng has other radios that are IP rated. I own a couple of Wouxun radios that are IP rated. I personally would not buy a radio that did not have an IP rating because I use them in the rain and humidity alot here in Texas.

You could use, the CPS, CHIRP, or the Tidrado BL-1 wireless programmer. This radio is compatible with it.

How do you switch to AM in VFO?
Nice radio, nice video my friend.
Thank you, glad you enjoyed it!

Polly has no clue what you are referring to. if the meter moves more and they can talk to there buddy then nothing matters after that.
There is no IP rating? That is crazy. Easy pass.

It’s $30….
@@E6ABHnavy I get that. I am in Texas and use my radios in wet and humid conditions regularly. A good IP rating is a must for me.
It's IP57 rated.
