      Is resveratrol the same as trans-resveratrol? I cannot find any topical cream or serum anywhere online that lists "trans-resveratrol". The Ordinary has a combo serum of 3% resveratrol & 3% ferulic Acid, but will that actually deliver the same results as trans-resveratrol?? Please help clarify, thank you!

My spot marks last literally months. I am using a combo of AM/PM Niacinamide, Centella, Tretinoin, LAA an AHA 2/3 x a week and a tranexemic acid serum with little impact. I read about Kojic acid, but can't find a low ph serum with a good inci list. Thanks chick xoxo

    Thank you for this video. It's very helpful to have someone speak directly about these things instead of reading a million articles about it, which ultimately feel more impersonal to me and don't help. The only suggestion I have is to spell the ingredients you're talking about on the screen as you go through them. I think it would be nice to have that visual of the word. But I appreciate you putting them in the description so I can look into them more. Again, thank you!

    My favourite acne busters are... Glycolic Acid, Lactic Acid, Azelaic Acid. I also love Retinol. But you have to be careful with Retinoids, as I'm sure overuse caused burst blood vessels on my face and started to make me look even older. Benzoyl Peroxide Is great when you first go into battle with acne and your face is covered. But it won't stop new acne from coming. And it bleaches anything it gets on. So I used to only use it at night, with an old towel over my pillow. The only over the counter Benzoyl Peroxide product I know of in the UK is Acnecide 5% Gel. Yesterday I ordered some Caudalie Resveratrol [Lift] Night Infusion Cream. But I don't know if it's the same Trans-Resveratrol you spoke of. The only Salicylic Acid product I can use is The Ordinary AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution. All other Salicylic products I've ever tried have caused me so much damage. 1) Acne 10 Times Worse. 2) Bright Red Sore Skin. 3) Dry sore skin around my nose. I have super oily skin and I get most but not all of my products from The Ordinary. I'd say the Ordinary's Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution has been the biggest star in clearing my face of acne. But I've just started using their Lactic Acid, and I think that could possibly be another great product.

    After using harsh products for years, I finally figured out that I had sensitive skin. Now, I choose the lowest Ph cleanser I can find. But What helped me the most was changing my pillow cases often and stop drinking Starbucks (or dark roasted/espresso) coffee. Tea used to break me out when I was a teenager, but I can drink it, just not daily.

    • @Alex-ge8cp
      @Alex-ge8cp 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Huh. That's really interesting. I've never heard of tea or coffee causing acne or skin issues. I've never really thought about tbh. Is it only drinking them that causes it or can you not use face products that have coffee or tea in them either?

    • @atomiclisa
      @atomiclisa 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Alex-ge8cp I don''t know about other products with coffee. But what happened to me was a weird instant breakout from a really good, dark roasted coffee. It wasn't hives, but actual painful pimples. I finally put it together and have been able to control my acne by avoiding some coffees. Some brands break me out after a few days use, some don't. The pillowcase thing I heard about from Brooke Shields in the 70's.

    If you have oily skin, its because your skin is dry and the skin needs to produce more oil to compensate, which leads too excess oil. This can happen if you exfoliate too much as well. I have oily skin, my dermatologist told me to use a face oil in addition to my skin care regimen. Once I added the face oil (First Aid face oil), which is a light oil, my skin stop becoming overly oily. I went from waking up with a face that looked like it was coated in a layer of oil, to a healthy amount. I use a foaming wash, essence, serum, and face oil daily along with peeling pads at night with face oil. My skin is soooo bright!

I have some acne which I believe to be hormonal + maybe also related to my digestion and from time to time mild rosacea. I actually use nothing on my skin cause everything I tried felt ‘too harsh’ for me and mainly I’d love something that can help my skin feel hydrated and has anti inflammatory properties. in my experience makeup didnt make my acne any worse! i have pcos and bad hormonal acne all over my face, i cant leave the house without using at least concealer or foundation. at some point when i was using a certain foundation my acne even calmed down even tho it didnt have any remotely good ingredients lmao and as soon as i ran out and got another one my skin went back to being really bad from just kinda bad LOL but tbh yeah if someone wears a lot of makeup and DOESNT REMOVE IT PROPERLY it can clog pores and harm ur skin but if its washed off properly with 2 step cleansing it really wont do much damage, if any at all. ofc its better to go bare faced, but in 90% of cases stopping wearing makeup wont magically fix acne :(

    BP is the only thing that works for my skin it makes it acne free, retinol or glycolic or salicylic doesn’t help as well only benzoyl peroxide, it does dry it out but that’s only when I don’t get brakeouts when it’s dry

    I’ve had acne for 30ish years - severe at first but milder as the years have gone on. It’s only in the last 8 months that it’s finally under control. The things I did were religiously using The Ordinary products for my skin type and doing my regime night and day. Making sure I let my products sink in before sleep so the pillow doesn’t benefit instead of me and most of all, I stopped squeezing and picking. Squeezing cystic acne was causing scarring, bleeding and swelling and nothing, NOTHING ever came out so I finally learnt it was pointless. I must say, this might sound icky and gross to most people but when I get the urge to squeeze and pick, I watch blackhead popping videos. Same satisfaction but none of my skin will be damaged! Weird I know. I have one spot at the moment and I know it’ll go in a couple of days. After so long, it’s nice to be free...just in time for wrinkles lol.

    I got cystic acne because I changed my contraceptive pill. I tried for 3 months with salicylic acid and did nothing of course. Now I am using benzoyl peroxide and in 2 weeks is almost gone, I am really making sure to use rich moisturizers to keep my skin from drying out a lot. It should not come back as I returned to my usual pill and my hormones are back to stable.

    Love this! I find that my acne and redness of my pimples are reduced when I do the first cleanse od my double cleanse with a mix of jojoba oil, tamanu oil and (a very small amount based on aromatherapy instructions) of lavender essential oil if anyone wants to try that. I love tamanu in skincare products and find it's helped my skin a lot along with glycolic and salicylic and I use benzoyl peroxide when I need more instant gratification haha!

    what if my acne started out as normal pimples but has developed into quite severe cystic acne? I've gone to countless dermatologists, tried several topical (Clindamycin, Benzoyl peroxide, Tretinoin) and oral prescriptions (anything from isotretinoin, to antibiotics to birth control) and at this point, I honestly don't know what to do. I know acne for my age is to be expected (I'm 17) but I haven't seen my face anywhere near to being clear since I was 12.

      Small white bumps need to be gently exfoliated! Try a lactic acid or glycolic acid peel 3 x per week. You may also want to try a retinoid product if the peels are not doing the trick

    If you use a topical treatment like benzoyl peroxide, do you let it dry on clean skin and the follow with the rest of your skincare? Or can it not be layered?

    • @hamsterfay
      @hamsterfay 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      That should definitely come as your last step in your skincare routine.

    • @elopix234
      @elopix234 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      hamsterfay not necessarily. A lot of dermatologists recommend using a day/night cream on top of it because it dries the skin out. Even so that your skin is peeling or burned. So yes you should use a cream afterwards.

    • @KennaWhitnell
      @KennaWhitnell  5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I recommend following the directs of use as advised on the specific product as each type of benzoyl peroxide product can be different. They can absolutely be layered though! If it is just a toner with benzoyl peroxide then yes I would definitely recommend with a gel moisturizer afterwards
