This lorry stuck on Bethnal Green road near Brick Lane. Held the traffic for over an hour.
I filmed the entire video on my Samsung S6 and Nikon D3300 and I were using PowerDirector 16 to edit it.

Not one of tho's muppets videoing and laughing could drive these trucks and deal with everyday situations that we deal with every day. He done well to get that out under so much pressure. People don't realise what we do on a day to day basis, well done mate for keeping calm under difficult circumstances

Dutch truck driver, it's not like these guys are not well educated. He did a good job with all those blind spots. Funny to see how people just stand and watch, could have helped the poor bloke. I have driven a lot in the netherlands in my career, very well trained drivers and the country with the least truck accidents! Greetings from Ireland.

This is one of the reasons why i got out of the industry...London can be a nightmare for truckers and instead of helping people just get their phones out and start recording...i have real empathy with that poor driver.
I feel so sorry for that poor guy. I used to drive HGV1s and coaches. With the artics, I had a couple of near disasters, too. It’s one thing to take your test in a nice test-taking place. In the real world you can get sent out, without being forewarned about the noose you are about to shove your neck into. I quickly learned never to take an artic anywhere without first asking another one if he’d been there already.
He might have made it around the traffic island - if the parked car hadn't been in the way. There were dozens of hefty blokes there who could have bumped the car out of the way in minutes - I've seen it done. Where was the bloke in charge with a bit of gumption?
The handbrake is probably on and if its an automatic it's in park. Anyway who the hell is gonna do that 🤡
Have had similar problems with people trying to "help", trying to manoeuvre in a tight space and people shouting "whoah!" at you when you still have a foot of clearance to use.
Or say woagh after youve hit something lol
got to feel sorry for him but he got there in the end shame there are more cameramen than helpers but I guess it brought some fun to their otherwise dull lives

Doesn't help when the government use standard 6'6" wide lanes and put crossings in stupid places. Lorry drivings hard, especially in London. People make it harder by recording as its added pressure to a tense situation already

Why are all of them watching like piss off! It makes it even more stressful for the driver when so many people are watching you! I hate this just get on with your day!

Common sense would have been for the cops to get the car moved by a recovery truck, end of the problem, doughnuts.

the car was legally parked so why would they move it? truck driver could clearly see he couldnt make the turn so shouldnt have even attempted it. im a coach driver so i know how hard some corners are but if they look like i wont make it then i wont turn that way its simple

im an hgv driver we do go in tricky spots but yet again making bad u turns and getting stuck look for a proper place to turn

If I was there, I would ask the driver to get off the truck, take a deep breath, control all around, or instead I would get on and tried to put back the Monster on the right path. I know people laugh at him while they don’t know driving a heavy and long veichele is not an easy job.
He should have assessed the situation before turning out, stopped the truck, turned it off, hazard lights on and called the police for assistance. Now he has damaged street furniture and a bicycle.

How can people not know that you don't help anyone at all to concentrate not knocking over someone, (whose decided the best place to position themselves is on the pavement, in the glare of a lorry's reversing light), when they are pointing a mobile 'phone at them ?
Have these people got nothing more urgent to do than to capitalize on another's difficulty ?
It's interesting, of course; but at the time the best thing to do is to be discreet, and move on, if nobody needs assistance; not shamelessly to gloat, in the middle of the street, demonsting delight at anothers distress.
Enjoying an opportunistic thrill should be felt to be demeaning.
There is just about room to make that turn he's just misjudged it what the video doesn't show is the position of other traffic as he approached the junction maybe that's why he's taken the wrong line

Am a lorry driver and if I was in this situation I wouldn’t even be bothered about the island crossing, just take it out, am not even joking. Are roads are not made for HGV’s so fuck them.

People seem to be missing the fact that the driver got himself in that pickle.
Look at the trailer tyre marks.
He quite clearly tried to do a U turn where there wasn't room. Got stuck then made a pigs ear trying to recover it. Flattening a load of cycles in the process.
If he was a decent driver he wouldn't have got himself in that position in the first place.

Need to use your common sense when your sat nav says turn right and it looks that tight and you can’t get a good enough swing to get around the corner

Drivers rookie error.... every truck driver should be able to tell whether they can make that turn or not before even turning, ( ima truck driver myself)

Been there, done that. It makes you feel sick to your stomach. Feel for the driver.
LHD truck blindsiding on a tight street between an island with his right mirror completely blocked by the side of the container.
Anybody that finds this funny I challenge you to get behind the wheel of an artic... this job is mentally gruelling.... I did it for 6 months and had a mental breakdown.. at times this job can be your worst nightmare .... especially if you don't cope with extreme pressure well.

The job is tough sometimes but making £55k makes up for it. Some of the people stood around laughing will never earn that. Ha ha

Yes he done a good job to get himself out of a position he put himself in. Looks to me like he tried to do a u-turn in the road. Perhaps he should have gone straight on and found somewhere else suitable to turn
to me it looked like he came out of the street on the right and got suck taking that normal turn because of the traffic island and the parked grey car. A lorry needs all that space to turn but i guess the city didn't expect this fella to come down that road

Dont know if you live in england but they drive on the left the driver was turning right onto the left lane the trailer then clipped the fence or something ane because the trailer was far to the right if he was to go forwards the lorry would of hit the astra and the trailer would of hit the signs on the road if not the astra and if he was to jacknife the trailer that wouldnt do anything as he would have the same problem as nie the trailer will clip the signs and theres a bus stop on the side walk theres your answer
