This was Mya’s first encounter with other dogs in a public setting like this. If anyone expects a 7 month old puppy who is still in training to be focused after all of this, then you’re expecting too much. And I sadly didn’t have training treats on me. Mya did very well. She remained under control. And after having a dog walked directly up to her, and listening to another dog bark in the store, then directly at her, I think she did phenomenal. It took Max years to get to where none of this would phase him at all. For a puppy still so young and learning, and encountering not one but two dogs that were not behaving appropriately I think she did amazing. But her being unfocused after all that, did not surprise me, nor should it surprise any of you. Be mindful of her age and the fact that she is still in training. On another note, I told you all in the beginning I tried. And I did. I’m sorry if it rubbed any of you the wrong way. But if no one says anything, if no one gets the laws out, then nothing will ever change. Regardless of how it is done, it needs to be done. One girl wants to get her untrained dog feet away Mya, then run off because she knows she’s wrong, yeah I’m gonna yell that she’s breaking the law and can go to jail. The other people with the barking dog?? In the cart?? Do not apologize to me that you’re dog is barking. But get your dog out of the store. Why apologize unless you realize it was wrong?? When other people want to put their nose in, yeah I’m going to say something more. So again sorry if I offended anyone. But I’m really tired of untrained dogs in stores where they don’t belong because that offends me. People break the law and think it’s okay. And it’s not. And it puts people with legitimate service animals at risk. Lives at risk.
I always explain it like this when they don't know how to tell a fake from a real SD. "Ask yourself this. Is this task something a MEDICAL DEVICE can do? If the answer is no? Its not a real SD."
So in my case, I'm considering getting a service dog because of a spine/spinal cord injury with extensive nerve damage causing constant 24/7 pain (sciatic nerve damage for example). The one thing I'm holding back from is wondering if I "deserve" one, or basically what it could do for me. I can walk, but it takes a lot of focus and is very painful, so when I'm out I usually always have my wheelchair or at the very least my walker. There is nothing more that can be done for me surgically. I just had my 6th failed spine/spinal cord surgery about 10 days ago so I'm left with meds as my entire solution, which is pretty miserable on its own. I have the best doggo in the world as it is right now. He's 80lb of love and is my literal shadow. Problem is, he's 10yo and about as bright as midnight (I love him, and he has his strengths, but being able to train him to provide anything other than cuddles, etc. is not likely!). Any tips from anyone on 1) how to decide if a service dog is even a viable option for them and 2) the best route to take in getting one (I'm in Canada, btw) or determining if I CAN get one, would be greatly appreciated. I do know that it takes about 3years to get one from the websites I have found and truly, I don't know how I'll be by then. I guess worst case scenario, if I decide I cannot manage it then someone just got bumped up behind me. I worry about not being able to do things like exercise the dog, etc. as it's not like I can take it for a walk every day. As it is now, my old boy doesn't have the desire to go for long hikes and a run around the (large) back yard tires him out. Thanks! Heather🇨🇦🎄
@@heatherd.9390 what kind of tasks will the service dog do that you can’t or that would make it much easier for you to “live?” I’m not sure about laws in Canada but if you get the dog and find someone to train it it takes way less time, if you are looking to get the dog from someone already trained with the tasks then it’s longer

I had a service dog, and in the process of moving states I forgot his vest and we needed to run into Walmart together. Even without a vest on- my dog was incredibly well behaved and some people could actually see the difference. Also at restaurants, the service staff typically always said how good he is (sat under the table on my feet) there IS a difference!
Ya, I’d get people griping at me for taking my mobility assist dog, Hunter, through the buffet line. I always kept him on the off side from the food, not that he showed any interest, then he’d lay in front of, or on my feet, under the table, and wouldn’t even sniff the floor. Was always so grateful my family would help advocate for me and my partner.
Hi, retail manager here, I promise you, we are also terrified of talking to customers who ask for us. There is no way of knowing what is about to go down (sometimes its good, sometimes its bad). So just remember you're just as scary as a manager. And if you're nice to us, we're extra nice to you :)
DUDE, i have a service dog in training that i cant take anywhere yet other than very small local shops, my church, and pet friendly stores because of getting almost attack by a dog THAT WAS OFF LEASH ON OUR PRIVATE CHURCH PROPERTY! So now she has bad dog reactivity to agressive acting dogs! (she is 100% pa ready, perfect heel, focus,alerts,tasking,etc.) but because of this 1 iresponsible owner, my dog now has to go through MONTHS more worth of training than she did before. So now i cant go to bigger places just incase there might be a fake that shes not ready for! (almost all of my small town shops are very educated on the topic and quickly get a misbehaved dog out!) Thank you for bringing light onto the topic and standing up for our basic human rights!
As a trainer I COMPLETELY understand how dangerous any distractions especially form other dogs can be! HOWEVER I've seen a few videos now and you often put yourself and dog into dangerous situations just to make a point or have footage ?! should the untrained dog be removed ..yes ! HOWEVER you standing near the aggressive dog..getting stressed either owner loudly arguing back and forth is not going to help with the dogs aggression who's only going to get worse trying to "protect" the owner and also with your pots it could trigger high HR..passing out ect! Then you would have a situation were you a pregnant lady falls and is unable to protect yourself or dog from the aggressive most of these irresponsible people know they are in the wrong but just don't care so involving yourself puts yall and risk and isn't going to change the bad behaviour in the slightest! Like you say it's your dogs first time experiencing this so who knows what she's do if that dog was to bite your throat?! The aggressive dog is already stressed ..then the public exchange changes the atmosphere of the store ..EVERYONE is zoned in on the situation ..that aggressive dog can pick up on that ..it could be the thing to ramp it up to a whole new dangerous...physical level of stress! I promise I'm not trying to "hate" on you I'm just concerned for you and the baby I understand you have experience but your dogs not fully trained yet and there is ALWAYS room to learn and improve! It's best to remove yourself entirely at go back once the aggressive dogs left to discuss your issue OR in bigger stores ignore the issue ..get a safer distance away and approach a staff member/manager about the issue ! If like here they are uneducated contact the head office or corporate. Looking through your videos it's scary to see how many ER trips are due to the stressful public conflicts or even scarier physical altercations !!! I LOVE that you are an advocate but you have so much footage of similar confrontations every time fitting you and your dog in unneeded danger especially since your dog is not fully trained yet..it's just not worth the risk to prove your point unfortunately 😡 It's not even the already stressed aggressive dog you need to be wary of the owner are often also mentally unstable and will lash out physically when called out in public! Love the education and advocacy but please stay safe! Especially with a large following wouldn't want any viewers to get hurt approaching these irresponsible owners Xx
My service dog is also in training and someone approaching me like this would totally set me off ending in my service animal jumping up in me, which people thinking is misbehaving.
I was thinking similar thoughts, why would she involve herself in a provoking and hostile situation. I thought I was going to witness someone else being the aggressor when in fact it was her. It’s invasive to ask what a dog is task to do even if the dog is obviously a fake. The video could have still been made with the intent on how to spot a fake service dog without the unnecessary confrontation. Everyone and animal was put in an uncomfortable situation because of that avoidable exchange, I was comfortable watching it.
I saw somebody with “don’t pet” sign and then me, my brother, and my mom talked about it and we said the dog was a service dog. I am 10 and I know my boundaries so I will never come up to a service dog or say “oh look at that dog” because I I respect other people. Like other people should. U taught me this

As someone who did try to have an emotional support dog my mom and I didn’t know everything we needed to know while we tried training my dog to be an emotional support dog. Eventually when we found out emotional support dogs weren’t seen as legal forms of Service dogs we were kind of upset. As someone who does go through social anxiety, severe panic attacks, and depression this was a really big letdown for me. It got worse whenever we found out that my dog has digestive issues and we still don’t know what causes it. As of now my dog is just a happy dog with digestive issues unfortunately and he is not a service animal.
Those things are disabling... and you need a service animal to assist you. I believe that a service dog is just a well trained dog (by the owner) to assist the owner with their disability. I don’t know why emotional support animals are not considered service animals but either way, I believe that you could certainly train your dog how to behave in public and call him a service dog. Because he does help you with your disability, there is no registration for service dogs, they cant ask anything other than is this a service dog and what does he do. And all you have to say is yes he is a service dog and he assists me when I have a event. They legally can not ask anything else.

I get where you’re coming from. But, if every time you go to Walmart you get agitated just go to target lol. No, but on a serious note. Why not grocery pickup? If someone had a chihuahua in there would you tell them to get out too? Dogs shouldn’t be in there, I know. But most stores don’t have a sign up and also during summer people don’t leave their dogs out in the car. I’m just saying if they weren’t claiming to be service dogs in the first place leave them alone. That took more out of you than just walking to the next isle to get your dog away from the distraction. It’s not your responsibility to kick everyone out. Just let the manager know on your way out. Trust me, that blonde lady didn’t learn. She will do it again and again.
For one unless it's pet friendly dogs that are not trained service dogs are NOT ALLOWED entry. For another, if it were agressive her dog is at risk. A handler is allowed to say something . Please learn the ADA law and about service dogs before speaking.

Don’t trust grocery pick up, they’ve made many mistakes, gave opened products, even bad products in the past. Too many issues since you can’t inspect for anything wrong with the packaging

I've run into a few fake service dogs (who almost always bark at my dog). I never have the confidence to call them out, so I'm glad someone does! It gets pretty annoying.
Honestly, if you weren’t super rude to everybody, start confrontation because you like to argue and fight, and weren’t super condescending you may get more of a response from people. You record as soon as you walk in a store in hopes there’s a problem. You have no ground whatsoever to yell at someone and demand them to leave a store. There’s a difference in advocating vs. hoping you sound all high and mighty and and get to be condescending, confrontational, and super rude. Even when talking to a manger, you act like you own the store. You give true service dog handlers a bad name. I have never seen a service dog handler act like you do. If you cared about your animal you would not act all crazy, you can educate and yet be respectful as well. You should respect yourself and take care of you! You are cussing your heart rate to increase not POTS. You are creating anxiety and can hear it in your voice. Your voice even breaks like your near tears while “confronting” people. I’m sorry but the disrespectful, condescending and yet manipulative attitude is not admirable!
She had every right to say something when they bring in dogs tjat can attack hers. One in the cart was a pet. Illegal . It was barking! Business owners also have the right to remove a service dog if it is disruptive by barking repeatedly, wandering around and/or bothering other customers. Or pulling showing full signs of not being a service dogs Under the Americans with Disabilities Act, it's a federal crime to use a fake dog. It's a felony punishable by fine and jail time. Every time someone fakes a service dog, it puts the work of real service dogs in jeopardy. Trained service dogs provide assistance in everyday life to those who need it. The consequences are not just limited to a hostess asking your bouncy dog to stop putting his paws on someone else’s table. You and your dog’s actions, no matter how benign, will have impact on the people around you, and one misstep can cause people to believe that all service dogs are just over-glorified pets. Also a fake service dog can distract a real service dig and cause them to miss a medical alert that could injure or kill the owner. Which would cause the fake owner to be arressted for attempted manslaughter. The first one woman stated that said her dog was for "Emotional support." Under the ADA emotional support animals which are not task trained are not granted public access. First let's look at what Wal-Mart corporate says Walmart welcomes service animals as defined by the ADA in our stores, and we recognize the important role they play in many of our customers' lives. We do not allow pets in our stores. Can I put my puppy or dog in a stroller or a shopping cart and take it into a Walmart store? No, you cannot take your dog in a stroller into a Walmart store. Only service dogs are allowed in the store, and a service dog should not be in a stroller or placed in a shopping cart. Can I carry my dog in Walmart? No, you cannot carry your dog in a Walmart store. Walmart policy only allows service dogs in the store, and they are not to be carried.
Educating people about service dogs is great. Specially letting them know the difference between emotional support dogs and a service dog. But when you come off with an attitude people will not listen nor try to understand what you’re telling them, they’re going to get defensive and that’s what causes the confrontations. What I’m taking from most of your videos is that you purposely record while being at the store to run into people with their pets as well as people trying to pet your dogs to cause a confrontation. I understand it’s frustrating to see these wana be service dogs because they give real service dogs a bad rep. But there are better ways to handle these situations. Maybe starting off the convo in a chill tone while asking what their dogs are trained for will set up the conversation to educate the owners rather than upsetting them and having them feel like they have to defend their dog.
True. I’ve only seen this video of her. But I already got the, she’s too dramatic about it vibe and does it for attention🤷🏻♀️. If u care about your dog and your health, your priority is stay calm and keep dog focused shouldn’t it? But what yall who are saying this stuff don’t realize is that she probably deals with this on a daily basis. I can imagine she probably started recording at stores to protect herself when things like this happen. Because shes right, if her dog missed an alert because of another dog, the store would be held liable for that but it would be easier for that to happen if she had proof. Its literally a life or death situation when it comes to service animals, because as well trained as they are they are still animals and they still react when seeing other dogs. She can be very defensive about it but I honestly think it’s just because she’s dealt with this kind of ignorance for so long. You can’t tell someone how they should handle a situation if you’ve never been in their shoes.
@@adamfenton2433 more then likely she’s recording for views, to make drama and to get attention cuz she keeps saying that her dog is in danger or she’ll miss a alert but she always put herself in these situations trying to get reactions when she can just walk away and tell a stuff but she always chose to walk up to them and yell and cause a scene even if they dog isn’t doing anything. I saw a video of her walking into a store just to scream at someone literally the moment she walked into the store she immediately started to scream and yell like a crazy lady. She even walked into a Popeyes just to get a man kicked out even tho the dog was calm until she started screaming. She’s just a massive Karen who think she’s some kind of police or hero but in reality she’s just annoying and makes service dog owners look bad.

I LOVE the face harnesses. We use one for my daughter’s service dog. There’s such a sensitivity awareness to every little movement made between person and dog. Because my daughter is so young, I’m the handler. So I use the face harness. Then my daughter uses a short leash connected to the back of the dogs vest, or even sometimes tethered together. Ppl always ask if it’s a muzzle. 🤷🏻♀️ But a face harness on a service dog changes everything. Love them.
Mine works in his, they're great. His functions as his work mode switch, and is also just convenient to have because his prey drive can be unpredictable at times. I've had the muzzle comments before, but it really doesn't inhibit their bite capacity At All. The only thing they can't do is hold a ball in their mouth. Also means I can just jingle the leash to get his focus, rather than having to verbally ask for it.
The easiest way to explain the halti is like this - it’s just like a horse halter, but for a dog. They’re really great during training, as it’s very easy to help redirect your partners attention back to you when teaching the “focus” command.
That was a great interaction, the employees saw a fake in action and were educated about the difference. She seemed so thankful for your info! I’m so glad my law cards just arrived too, they really are a great thing to hand out.

Actually yes barking does signifiy being a fake mixed with the fact it's in a shopping cart which is against the ADA law and a health code violation. Outside of trained and necessary task work, there should be NO other vocalization, including, but not limited to, whining, grumbling, wooing, barking, growling, whimpering or other noise. Unless working, Service Dogs should be seen by the public and not heard. Before a service dog even in training does Publix access they can not be barking unless it is a trained task and it can not be acessively the people in the video even stated the dog was a pet which again is illegal and a health code violation adelded the fact it was in a cart.

I like that you try to educate the stupid people but honestly I think you put more stress on yourself worrying so much about them, I understand they can distract your service animal but just try focusing on just you, baby and dog
she goes about it the wrong way. her personality/attitude is alot different then other service dog channels i watch. sometimes she forgets that she cant tell someone that their dog isnt a SD. She is not psychic. she also forgets her dog could be a distraction to others as well. it goes both ways
I haven’t run into pets like face to face or in the same isle yet in Walmart but people are still uneducated themselves and it aggravates me to no end! We went Black Friday shopping and I had my service dog because I cannot be around so many people at one time, a lady at the front of Walmart tried to stop us!!!! I just looked at her and walked in. It’s people who don’t get why service dogs need to be left alone that I’m wanting to educate myself, but omg! Glad you’re ok!❤️
Well, in all honesty, I probably would've done the same thing as people like that irritate the holy F word out of me! I've seen the same crap way too often to excuse it anymore...and let's face it, when people get to be my age, it doesn't take much to piss us off. My brother is a door greeter at a Walmart up in Washington and is very strict about letting dogs in. He makes sure that they are service dogs and not pets/ESA's. His Walmart educates their employees on the ADA laws and what dogs are and aren't allowed in the store. That said...you haven't offended me in the least. These people obviously NEED to be told in a loud voice because it seems they don't listen if you are kind to them. That first lady, with what looked like a Golden Retriever, was one of those selfish, my $hit don't stink, snooty kind of ladies...I could tell by her attitude and actions. We have a lot of those here in CA.. I'm not one of them or this conversation would probably be a lot different. 😉 Anyway, I've said more than enough as that's me, always long winded but I mean well. You just keep being you, keep advocating and getting people educated...there should be more people like you doing this because too many people refuse to listen and need to wake up and realize how important this growing problem is. I am blind and live in the uk I have a guide dog, one day in town we got attacked by a homeless persons 2 dogs that were not on leads luckily they didn't get THOMAS but I had 8 stitches in my right hand I put my arm out to cover my dogs head to put him behind me. And one of them got me. Now if I hear dogs barking in tow I freeze I dont go the way I was going that day I am too afraid. All service dogs are so well behaved they dont bark at other dogs they dont jump up or try to lounge at anyone, I am blind live alone so I was lucky after 9 months training I was accepted on the waiting list to get a guide dog I waited over two years now in February I have had my gd for 2 years. Hes gave me my independence back and hes the best partner I have ever had.

Last night I ran into 2 fakes within 2 minutes of each other at a family dollar. The first one was a chihuahua that I thought could have been legit but when the second dog came into view they both lost their minds barking lunging and growling at each other. The owners couldn’t control the dogs at all. The second dog was caked in mud and wandering all over the store sniffing and licking shelves because it was not on a leash. The owner of the muddy dog opened a bag of chips and started feeding the dog on the floor. When the dog got done eating the chips it started dragging its butt across the carpet. Absolutely disgusting.
Im so glad I found this channel. I'm in Canada and I have been waiting over 2 and a half years for an opening to apply for my sons autism service dog. There is a long wait its a long process. My son is 5 with autism and understands the dogs with vests are working and you cannot pet them, so does my 3 year old. I don't get how adults cannot understand a service animal or service dog you cannot pet or interact with because it is working. Its so annoying people think an ESA is the same as a service animal it boils my blood
Something that I think a lot of people don’t realize about service dogs is that they are getting so much reward all the time, in more than just treats and pets! They are so productive. I’m sure that their training and abilities give them a sense of purpose. It must be so fulfilling for them to be such a big part of their owners’ lives. I can’t imagine any service dog is disappointed from not getting pets or attention from strangers.
I have never seen dogs in a store unless it was a service dog. We moved from IL. To Horseshoe Bend Arkansas. And I was shocked that any store we went into Walmart,Lowe’s, Home Depot, people all had their dogs in the stores. And on the door it does specify service dogs only but the stores don’t stop people from bringing regular dogs in the store. So I was shocked to see this.
I was standing outside a store with my dog because pets are not allowed and I was waiting for my mom to come out. She is in a perfect down stay at my side, hard for a husky to do, and out of the store walks a lady with 3 demon chihuahuas on retractable leashes and they rush my dog. She gives me a dirty look while my dog has gotten up but hasn’t made a sound. Can not believe they let her bring those little monsters in. Glad someone is calling people out on this issue.
I have an emotional support dog and they are not the same as service dog .. the girl with the other dog I don’t know if she really knows the difference between the 2 .. I admire you for standing up for service animals and more ❤️

I love watching these due to the fact that I thought on in some years maybe getting a service dog due to my disability, and it helps showing me not only what knowledge I need to know on things to help the dog and also on what you go through. I didn't know about the no regular dogs in Wally World until I was like seventeen. I knew not to touch/distract service dogs, and any dog you ask anyways. I know it takes a lot for you to ask for a manager and people nowadays thinking you are just being a 'Karen' but honestly, it needs to be done. People just let it go too easily these days on service dog laws.
I understand because I also suffer with ptsd anxiety disorder panic attacks HBP and mutable more health issues but be very careful confronting people because this is wicked and people are crazy sometimes its better to walk away than to confront someone today they won't hesitate to shoot or stab people just be safe

I am a disabled Vet and am on my second SD. You really are not there to "educate", as you say. You are there because, for some reason, you have made yourself a Service Dog Police. You do you, let others do themselves. If there is a problem, management will handle it. You seem to be hunting down confrontations, and will some day get yourself in trouble for that. It is not worth it young lady. Be thankful that your SD is better trained and well behaved than those other people's dogs. By getting confrontational with other dog handlers in a store, you look like the bad guy in bystander's eyes. Think about that, please.

Outside of trained and necessary task work, there should be NO other vocalization, including, but not limited to, whining, grumbling, wooing, barking, growling, whimpering or other noise. Unless working, Service Dogs should be seen by the public and not heard. Before a service dog even in training does Publix access they can not be barking unless it is a trained task and it can not be acessively the people in the video even stated the dog was a pet which again is illegal and a health code violation adelded the fact it was in a cart. You need to educate yourself more.
Then let me do me and stop commenting and complaining about how you don’t like how I do me. I speak up. Management never does anything. But this spreads awareness. I hear you. But in the end, regardless, this has educated people and that’s all I’m trying to do. Not everyone likes me because of this. Im not holding anyones hand. If they do it, they deal with it. my sister has an ESA and i’ve told her numerous times that they’re not allowed in public establishments but she completely shuts me down because her dog has the certified tags or whatever. my sister has been diagnosed for bipolar disorder, general anxiety, depression, and OCD but i feel like she thinks that gives her a right to just take her dog everywhere when it doesn’t. her dog isn’t formally trained at all and i get scared for the day that she’ll get in trouble for it. as for the girl with the golden retriever, i don’t wanna discredit anything she’s currently going through but she gives me major “i have anxiety but i’ve never had an anxiety attack and i’m not diagnosed” kinda vibes. she knew she was in the wrong, otherwise she wouldn’t have sped away so fast.
I don't have a service dog. But I admire that you educate people about service dogs and make them aware of the laws regarding service dogs. I just wish you didn't have to take so much crap from people for it
I was getting groceries last night and a guy cleared his throat or coughed really loudly as we walked by, and it 100% sounded like a REALLY aggressive dog growling, it freaked me out so much 😂 I jumped and started speedwalking away looking around for a dog before I realized there wasn’t one 😂 I almost had a panic attack bc of how bad it startled me and had to brace on my dog for a bit after he alerted bc I was so shaky, but I was laughing the whole time bc it was probably the funniest thing that’s ever triggered me lmao. I hate that fakes scare me that much, but it was pretty hilarious given that it wasn’t actually a dog at all 😂
My mom works in a public place and they told her they are not allowed to ask. If they say it’s a service dog they are supposed to believe it. It’s not the workers fault. They are just following rules.
I'm follow the rules and not get fired. Break Ada law ( which they are by not asking) and being found liable and jailed if a pet or fake service dog hurts someone or distracts a real service dog which could KILL the owner leading to your mom or someone else who did not ask the questions years of jail time and a 5000$ fine. I love watching your videos! I have a couple of disabilities and have a Border Collie pup that I am training to be my service dog. She is 5 months old now and has already performed a couple of necessary tasks. I really appreciate you educating everyone about what a service animal is and is not.

Mya is such a great dog, such a good girl and deserves many treats and I think if either of my dogs were service dogs and there was a dog barking at them I think they would freak out so I think Mya is so well trained and very calm and sweet :)

My issue with encounters with other dogs is 1. Your not a cop and 2. You let store management know and deal with the fake dogs. It is not your place to do so. I registered my dog as ESA because of my ptsd and anxiety... Even I know ESA animals cant go everywhere. Ffs. Service animals are working; ESA doggos just give comfort. Its different. This is appalling
Just to put in. Thete is no registery for ESA all you need is a doctor's note to claim your animal as an ESA. There is no registery for service animals either. There are places you can buy "registery" or certification from they are not reginozed and under the Ada considered fraudulent.
I have trouble standing up to people who fake service dogs. I’m not very assertive, and able to speak up. How are you able to speak up about this stuff. My service dog in training has missed like three alerts since I got him a year ago because of fake service dogs
I have a certified medical alert dog who has flown all over the USA with me. He has to extremely close to monitor me. Most people don't even notice he's with me. Here's where you and I disagree. I am not the service dog police. Eventually these fakers will do something seriously wrong (it's a people problem, not the dogs fault...unfortunately the dog will pay for it). I carry educational paperwork with me every where we go for anyone who's interested in the laws.

This was Mya’s first encounter with other dogs in a public setting like this. If anyone expects a 7 month old puppy who is still in training to be focused after all of this, then you’re expecting too much. And I sadly didn’t have training treats on me. Mya did very well. She remained under control. And after having a dog walked directly up to her, and listening to another dog bark in the store, then directly at her, I think she did phenomenal. It took Max years to get to where none of this would phase him at all. For a puppy still so young and learning, and encountering not one but two dogs that were not behaving appropriately I think she did amazing. But her being unfocused after all that, did not surprise me, nor should it surprise any of you. Be mindful of her age and the fact that she is still in training.
On another note, I told you all in the beginning I tried. And I did. I’m sorry if it rubbed any of you the wrong way. But if no one says anything, if no one gets the laws out, then nothing will ever change. Regardless of how it is done, it needs to be done. One girl wants to get her untrained dog feet away Mya, then run off because she knows she’s wrong, yeah I’m gonna yell that she’s breaking the law and can go to jail. The other people with the barking dog?? In the cart?? Do not apologize to me that you’re dog is barking. But get your dog out of the store. Why apologize unless you realize it was wrong?? When other people want to put their nose in, yeah I’m going to say something more.
So again sorry if I offended anyone. But I’m really tired of untrained dogs in stores where they don’t belong because that offends me. People break the law and think it’s okay. And it’s not. And it puts people with legitimate service animals at risk. Lives at risk.

So in my case, I'm considering getting a service dog because of a spine/spinal cord injury with extensive nerve damage causing constant 24/7 pain (sciatic nerve damage for example). The one thing I'm holding back from is wondering if I "deserve" one, or basically what it could do for me. I can walk, but it takes a lot of focus and is very painful, so when I'm out I usually always have my wheelchair or at the very least my walker. There is nothing more that can be done for me surgically. I just had my 6th failed spine/spinal cord surgery about 10 days ago so I'm left with meds as my entire solution, which is pretty miserable on its own. I have the best doggo in the world as it is right now. He's 80lb of love and is my literal shadow. Problem is, he's 10yo and about as bright as midnight (I love him, and he has his strengths, but being able to train him to provide anything other than cuddles, etc. is not likely!).
Any tips from anyone on 1) how to decide if a service dog is even a viable option for them and 2) the best route to take in getting one (I'm in Canada, btw) or determining if I CAN get one, would be greatly appreciated. I do know that it takes about 3years to get one from the websites I have found and truly, I don't know how I'll be by then. I guess worst case scenario, if I decide I cannot manage it then someone just got bumped up behind me. I worry about not being able to do things like exercise the dog, etc. as it's not like I can take it for a walk every day. As it is now, my old boy doesn't have the desire to go for long hikes and a run around the (large) back yard tires him out.

I had a service dog, and in the process of moving states I forgot his vest and we needed to run into Walmart together. Even without a vest on- my dog was incredibly well behaved and some people could actually see the difference. Also at restaurants, the service staff typically always said how good he is (sat under the table on my feet) there IS a difference!

Ya, I’d get people griping at me for taking my mobility assist dog, Hunter, through the buffet line. I always kept him on the off side from the food, not that he showed any interest, then he’d lay in front of, or on my feet, under the table, and wouldn’t even sniff the floor. Was always so grateful my family would help advocate for me and my partner.

There’s plenty of anxiety. I just do my best to push through it. Sometimes full blown anxiety attacks do come on.

Hi, retail manager here, I promise you, we are also terrified of talking to customers who ask for us. There is no way of knowing what is about to go down (sometimes its good, sometimes its bad). So just remember you're just as scary as a manager. And if you're nice to us, we're extra nice to you :)

DUDE, i have a service dog in training that i cant take anywhere yet other than very small local shops, my church, and pet friendly stores because of getting almost attack by a dog THAT WAS OFF LEASH ON OUR PRIVATE CHURCH PROPERTY! So now she has bad dog reactivity to agressive acting dogs! (she is 100% pa ready, perfect heel, focus,alerts,tasking,etc.) but because of this 1 iresponsible owner, my dog now has to go through MONTHS more worth of training than she did before. So now i cant go to bigger places just incase there might be a fake that shes not ready for! (almost all of my small town shops are very educated on the topic and quickly get a misbehaved dog out!) Thank you for bringing light onto the topic and standing up for our basic human rights!
As a trainer I COMPLETELY understand how dangerous any distractions especially form other dogs can be! HOWEVER I've seen a few videos now and you often put yourself and dog into dangerous situations just to make a point or have footage ?! should the untrained dog be removed ..yes ! HOWEVER you standing near the aggressive dog..getting stressed either owner loudly arguing back and forth is not going to help with the dogs aggression who's only going to get worse trying to "protect" the owner and also with your pots it could trigger high HR..passing out ect! Then you would have a situation were you a pregnant lady falls and is unable to protect yourself or dog from the aggressive most of these irresponsible people know they are in the wrong but just don't care so involving yourself puts yall and risk and isn't going to change the bad behaviour in the slightest!
Like you say it's your dogs first time experiencing this so who knows what she's do if that dog was to bite your throat?! The aggressive dog is already stressed ..then the public exchange changes the atmosphere of the store ..EVERYONE is zoned in on the situation ..that aggressive dog can pick up on that ..it could be the thing to ramp it up to a whole new dangerous...physical level of stress! I promise I'm not trying to "hate" on you I'm just concerned for you and the baby I understand you have experience but your dogs not fully trained yet and there is ALWAYS room to learn and improve!
It's best to remove yourself entirely at go back once the aggressive dogs left to discuss your issue OR in bigger stores ignore the issue ..get a safer distance away and approach a staff member/manager about the issue ! If like here they are uneducated contact the head office or corporate. Looking through your videos it's scary to see how many ER trips are due to the stressful public conflicts or even scarier physical altercations !!! I LOVE that you are an advocate but you have so much footage of similar confrontations every time fitting you and your dog in unneeded danger especially since your dog is not fully trained yet..it's just not worth the risk to prove your point unfortunately 😡
It's not even the already stressed aggressive dog you need to be wary of the owner are often also mentally unstable and will lash out physically when called out in public!

My service dog is also in training and someone approaching me like this would totally set me off ending in my service animal jumping up in me, which people thinking is misbehaving.
I was thinking similar thoughts, why would she involve herself in a provoking and hostile situation. I thought I was going to witness someone else being the aggressor when in fact it was her. It’s invasive to ask what a dog is task to do even if the dog is obviously a fake. The video could have still been made with the intent on how to spot a fake service dog without the unnecessary confrontation. Everyone and animal was put in an uncomfortable situation because of that avoidable exchange, I was comfortable watching it.
I saw somebody with “don’t pet” sign and then me, my brother, and my mom talked about it and we said the dog was a service dog. I am 10 and I know my boundaries so I will never come up to a service dog or say “oh look at that dog” because I I respect other people. Like other people should. U taught me this

As someone who did try to have an emotional support dog my mom and I didn’t know everything we needed to know while we tried training my dog to be an emotional support dog. Eventually when we found out emotional support dogs weren’t seen as legal forms of Service dogs we were kind of upset.
As someone who does go through social anxiety, severe panic attacks, and depression this was a really big letdown for me. It got worse whenever we found out that my dog has digestive issues and we still don’t know what causes it.
As of now my dog is just a happy dog with digestive issues unfortunately and he is not a service animal.
You can train a dog tasks for anxiety and panic attacks if they’re debilitating for you. Your dog would be a psychiatric service dog.

Those things are disabling... and you need a service animal to assist you. I believe that a service dog is just a well trained dog (by the owner) to assist the owner with their disability. I don’t know why emotional support animals are not considered service animals but either way, I believe that you could certainly train your dog how to behave in public and call him a service dog. Because he does help you with your disability, there is no registration for service dogs, they cant ask anything other than is this a service dog and what does he do. And all you have to say is yes he is a service dog and he assists me when I have a event. They legally can not ask anything else.

For one unless it's pet friendly dogs that are not trained service dogs are NOT ALLOWED entry.

Honestly, if you weren’t super rude to everybody, start confrontation because you like to argue and fight, and weren’t super condescending you may get more of a response from people. You record as soon as you walk in a store in hopes there’s a problem. You have no ground whatsoever to yell at someone and demand them to leave a store. There’s a difference in advocating vs. hoping you sound all high and mighty and and get to be condescending, confrontational, and super rude. Even when talking to a manger, you act like you own the store. You give true service dog handlers a bad name. I have never seen a service dog handler act like you do.

You are cussing your heart rate to increase not POTS. You are creating anxiety and can hear it in your voice. Your voice even breaks like your near tears while “confronting” people. Every time someone fakes a service dog, it puts the work of real service dogs in jeopardy. Trained service dogs provide assistance in everyday life to those who need it. The consequences are not just limited to a hostess asking your bouncy dog to stop putting his paws on someone else’s table. You and your dog’s actions, no matter how benign, will have impact on the people around you, and one misstep can cause people to believe that all service dogs are just over-glorified pets.
Also a fake service dog can distract a real service dig and cause them to miss a medical alert that could injure or kill the owner. Which would cause the fake owner to be arressted for attempted manslaughter.

Educating people about service dogs is great. Specially letting them know the difference between emotional support dogs and a service dog. But when you come off with an attitude people will not listen nor try to understand what you’re telling them, they’re going to get defensive and that’s what causes the confrontations.
What I’m taking from most of your videos is that you purposely record while being at the store to run into people with their pets as well as people trying to pet your dogs to cause a confrontation. I understand it’s frustrating to see these wana be service dogs because they give real service dogs a bad rep. But there are better ways to handle these situations. Maybe starting off the convo in a chill tone while asking what their dogs are trained for will set up the conversation to educate the owners rather than upsetting them and having them feel like they have to defend their dog.

Its literally a life or death situation when it comes to service animals, because as well trained as they are they are still animals and they still react when seeing other dogs. She can be very defensive about it but I honestly think it’s just because she’s dealt with this kind of ignorance for so long. You can’t tell someone how they should handle a situation if you’ve never been in their shoes.
@@adamfenton2433 more then likely she’s recording for views, to make drama and to get attention cuz she keeps saying that her dog is in danger or she’ll miss a alert but she always put herself in these situations trying to get reactions when she can just walk away and tell a stuff but she always chose to walk up to them and yell and cause a scene even if they dog isn’t doing anything. I saw a video of her walking into a store just to scream at someone literally the moment she walked into the store she immediately started to scream and yell like a crazy lady. She even walked into a Popeyes just to get a man kicked out even tho the dog was calm until she started screaming. She’s just a massive Karen who think she’s some kind of police or hero but in reality she’s just annoying and makes service dog owners look bad.

I LOVE the face harnesses. We use one for my daughter’s service dog. There’s such a sensitivity awareness to every little movement made between person and dog. Because my daughter is so young, I’m the handler. So I use the face harness. Then my daughter uses a short leash connected to the back of the dogs vest, or even sometimes tethered together. Ppl always ask if it’s a muzzle. 🤷🏻♀️ But a face harness on a service dog changes everything. Love them.
Mine works in his, they're great. His functions as his work mode switch, and is also just convenient to have because his prey drive can be unpredictable at times. I've had the muzzle comments before, but it really doesn't inhibit their bite capacity At All. The only thing they can't do is hold a ball in their mouth. Also means I can just jingle the leash to get his focus, rather than having to verbally ask for it.
The easiest way to explain the halti is like this - it’s just like a horse halter, but for a dog. They’re really great during training, as it’s very easy to help redirect your partners attention back to you when teaching the “focus” command.
That was a great interaction, the employees saw a fake in action and were educated about the difference. She seemed so thankful for your info! I’m so glad my law cards just arrived too, they really are a great thing to hand out.

Outside of trained and necessary task work, there should be NO other vocalization, including, but not limited to, whining, grumbling, wooing, barking, growling, whimpering or other noise. Unless working, Service Dogs should be seen by the public and not heard.
Before a service dog even in training does Publix access they can not be barking unless it is a trained task and it can not be acessively the people in the video even stated the dog was a pet which again is illegal and a health code violation adelded the fact it was in a cart.

I like that you try to educate the stupid people but honestly I think you put more stress on yourself worrying so much about them, I understand they can distract your service animal but just try focusing on just you, baby and dog
she goes about it the wrong way. her personality/attitude is alot different then other service dog channels i watch. sometimes she forgets that she cant tell someone that their dog isnt a SD. She is not psychic. she also forgets her dog could be a distraction to others as well. it goes both ways

I haven’t run into pets like face to face or in the same isle yet in Walmart but people are still uneducated themselves and it aggravates me to no end! We went Black Friday shopping and I had my service dog because I cannot be around so many people at one time, a lady at the front of Walmart tried to stop us!!!! I just looked at her and walked in. It’s people who don’t get why service dogs need to be left alone that I’m wanting to educate myself, but omg! Glad you’re ok!❤️

Well, in all honesty, I probably would've done the same thing as people like that irritate the holy F word out of me! I've seen the same crap way too often to excuse it anymore...and let's face it, when people get to be my age, it doesn't take much to piss us off.
My brother is a door greeter at a Walmart up in Washington and is very strict about letting dogs in. He makes sure that they are service dogs and not pets/ESA's. His Walmart educates their employees on the ADA laws and what dogs are and aren't allowed in the store.
That said...you haven't offended me in the least. These people obviously NEED to be told in a loud voice because it seems they don't listen if you are kind to them. That first lady, with what looked like a Golden Retriever, was one of those selfish, my $hit don't stink, snooty kind of ladies...I could tell by her attitude and actions. We have a lot of those here in CA.. I'm not one of them or this conversation would probably be a lot different. 😉
Anyway, I've said more than enough as that's me, always long winded but I mean well. You just keep being you, keep advocating and getting people educated...there should be more people like you doing this because too many people refuse to listen and need to wake up and realize how important this growing problem is. I am blind and live in the uk I have a guide dog, one day in town we got attacked by a homeless persons 2 dogs that were not on leads luckily they didn't get THOMAS but I had 8 stitches in my right hand I put my arm out to cover my dogs head to put him behind me. And one of them got me. Now if I hear dogs barking in tow I freeze I dont go the way I was going that day I am too afraid.
All service dogs are so well behaved they dont bark at other dogs they dont jump up or try to lounge at anyone, I am blind live alone so I was lucky after 9 months training I was accepted on the waiting list to get a guide dog I waited over two years now in February I have had my gd for 2 years. Hes gave me my independence back and hes the best partner I have ever had.

Last night I ran into 2 fakes within 2 minutes of each other at a family dollar. The first one was a chihuahua that I thought could have been legit but when the second dog came into view they both lost their minds barking lunging and growling at each other. The owners couldn’t control the dogs at all. The second dog was caked in mud and wandering all over the store sniffing and licking shelves because it was not on a leash. The owner of the muddy dog opened a bag of chips and started feeding the dog on the floor. When the dog got done eating the chips it started dragging its butt across the carpet. Absolutely disgusting.

Im so glad I found this channel. I'm in Canada and I have been waiting over 2 and a half years for an opening to apply for my sons autism service dog. There is a long wait its a long process. My son is 5 with autism and understands the dogs with vests are working and you cannot pet them, so does my 3 year old. I don't get how adults cannot understand a service animal or service dog you cannot pet or interact with because it is working. Its so annoying people think an ESA is the same as a service animal it boils my blood
Something that I think a lot of people don’t realize about service dogs is that they are getting so much reward all the time, in more than just treats and pets! They are so productive. I’m sure that their training and abilities give them a sense of purpose. It must be so fulfilling for them to be such a big part of their owners’ lives. I can’t imagine any service dog is disappointed from not getting pets or attention from strangers.

I have never seen dogs in a store unless it was a service dog. We moved from IL. To Horseshoe Bend Arkansas. And I was shocked that any store we went into Walmart,Lowe’s, Home Depot, people all had their dogs in the stores. And on the door it does specify service dogs only but the stores don’t stop people from bringing regular dogs in the store. So I was shocked to see this.
I was standing outside a store with my dog because pets are not allowed and I was waiting for my mom to come out. She is in a perfect down stay at my side, hard for a husky to do, and out of the store walks a lady with 3 demon chihuahuas on retractable leashes and they rush my dog. She gives me a dirty look while my dog has gotten up but hasn’t made a sound. Can not believe they let her bring those little monsters in. Glad someone is calling people out on this issue.
I have an emotional support dog and they are not the same as service dog .. the girl with the other dog I don’t know if she really knows the difference between the 2 .. I admire you for standing up for service animals and more ❤️

I love watching these due to the fact that I thought on in some years maybe getting a service dog due to my disability, and it helps showing me not only what knowledge I need to know on things to help the dog and also on what you go through. I didn't know about the no regular dogs in Wally World until I was like seventeen. I knew not to touch/distract service dogs, and any dog you ask anyways. I know it takes a lot for you to ask for a manager and people nowadays thinking you are just being a 'Karen' but honestly, it needs to be done. People just let it go too easily these days on service dog laws.

I am a disabled Vet and am on my second SD. You really are not there to "educate", as you say. You are there because, for some reason, you have made yourself a Service Dog Police. You do you, let others do themselves. If there is a problem, management will handle it. You seem to be hunting down confrontations, and will some day get yourself in trouble for that. It is not worth it young lady. Be thankful that your SD is better trained and well behaved than those other people's dogs. By getting confrontational with other dog handlers in a store, you look like the bad guy in bystander's eyes. Think about that, please.

my sister has an ESA and i’ve told her numerous times that they’re not allowed in public establishments but she completely shuts me down because her dog has the certified tags or whatever. my sister has been diagnosed for bipolar disorder, general anxiety, depression, and OCD but i feel like she thinks that gives her a right to just take her dog everywhere when it doesn’t. her dog isn’t formally trained at all and i get scared for the day that she’ll get in trouble for it. as for the girl with the golden retriever, i don’t wanna discredit anything she’s currently going through but she gives me major “i have anxiety but i’ve never had an anxiety attack and i’m not diagnosed” kinda vibes. she knew she was in the wrong, otherwise she wouldn’t have sped away so fast.

I was getting groceries last night and a guy cleared his throat or coughed really loudly as we walked by, and it 100% sounded like a REALLY aggressive dog growling, it freaked me out so much 😂 I jumped and started speedwalking away looking around for a dog before I realized there wasn’t one 😂 I almost had a panic attack bc of how bad it startled me and had to brace on my dog for a bit after he alerted bc I was so shaky, but I was laughing the whole time bc it was probably the funniest thing that’s ever triggered me lmao. I hate that fakes scare me that much, but it was pretty hilarious given that it wasn’t actually a dog at all 😂

My mom works in a public place and they told her they are not allowed to ask. If they say it’s a service dog they are supposed to believe it. It’s not the workers fault. They are just following rules.

Break Ada law ( which they are by not asking) and being found liable and jailed if a pet or fake service dog hurts someone or distracts a real service dog which could KILL the owner leading to your mom or someone else who did not ask the questions years of jail time and a 5000$ fine.

I love watching your videos! I have a couple of disabilities and have a Border Collie pup that I am training to be my service dog. She is 5 months old now and has already performed a couple of necessary tasks. I really appreciate you educating everyone about what a service animal is and is not.

Mya is such a great dog, such a good girl and deserves many treats and I think if either of my dogs were service dogs and there was a dog barking at them I think they would freak out so I think Mya is so well trained and very calm and sweet :)

My issue with encounters with other dogs is 1. Your not a cop and 2. You let store management know and deal with the fake dogs. It is not your place to do so.
Educating people on you tube is fine and I applaud you for that. But letting people on YT know what is wrong rather than being confrontational with other people would be better

Me and my service dog had a horrible run in with a fake who was lunging and barking and being super aggressive, I hate how us handlers now have to be worried about going in public, if you have Instagram I would love to follow you! You handled it soooo well and I’m shocked, for me I now have PTSD with dogs in stores, in less then 2 months my dog has been lunged and and almost attacked twice! And was attacked once! I registered my dog as ESA because of my ptsd and anxiety... Even I know ESA animals cant go everywhere. Ffs. Service animals are working; ESA doggos just give comfort. Its different.

There is no registery for service animals either.
There are places you can buy "registery" or certification from they are not reginozed and under the Ada considered fraudulent.

I have trouble standing up to people who fake service dogs. I’m not very assertive, and able to speak up. How are you able to speak up about this stuff. My service dog in training has missed like three alerts since I got him a year ago because of fake service dogs

I have a certified medical alert dog who has flown all over the USA with me. He has to extremely close to monitor me. Most people don't even notice he's with me. Here's where you and I disagree. I am not the service dog police. Eventually these fakers will do something seriously wrong (it's a people problem, not the dogs fault...unfortunately the dog will pay for it). I carry educational paperwork with me every where we go for anyone who's interested in the laws.
So then you know there’s no such thing as a certified service dog? And certifications and registrations are scams in the US and hold no legal authority under the law.
Advocacy is great, shes doing an amazing job continuing to learn and even offering to publicly speak to educate. However, i feel like she forgets that her safety is not more important then others. No ones safety is more important then anyone else.
I get the importance of service dogs and wanting to educate but theres a manner of approaching it with respect for others. You come off as very aggrevated and mean, you won't get anywhere educating people like that. Not hating on you, just remember you catch more bees with honey. Like the way you approached the employee, thats the way you need to approach others.
