  • The coast redwood is the only living tree in the genus sequoia. It’s closely related to the Wellingtonia (Giant sequoia). It’s a fast-growing species of conifer and is native to the Pacific coast of Oregon to south of Monterey in California. Trees often reach an incredible 2000 years old and the tallest tree in the world is a Coast redwood growing at 115.9m. The tree was introduced to Britain in 1843. It will grow not more than 40m in Britain.
The Nature’s Work channel celebrates the natural wonders of Britain and the Alps. Nature is an endless inspiration for our work and teaching.
