Here's what a typical morning in my life looks like as a homeschooling mom of four. I've recently chosen to slow down and create a peaceful atmosphere in our home before the rush of the crazy busy afternoons as a large family hits! It has been such a fruitful decision for our family, and I am enjoying every moment of it. I hope this video encourages you to find a moment to rest and enjoy your children, as well. It has been a life giving change after years of rushing around unnecessarily.

That soup looked yummy. This is encouraging! It’s really easy to get caught up on the idea that we should be “done by lunch.” I like the balance you’ve created here. Thank you for sharing.
For some reason, this video brought me so much life. Thank you for taking the time to pick out the music and pay attention to the beautiful details of your day- it was so enjoyable to watch. Love you friend!
Thanks, sweet friend ❤️ love you, too!
I love this. Thanks for sharing. One of my favorite things about homeschooling is not having to rush out the door in the morning! It's fun to see how others do it in different seasons of life.
Unhurried grabbed my attention. Definitely my desire for our homeschool and life. Great tips. 🥰
I would enjoy seeing your afternoon routine. This is my first year homeschooling and I enjoy getting ideas from you.
Will do!
Love that you intentionally said you did this flow before videoing. We have one older child and I play instrumental relaxing music during the day as a background noise….I always have my wax burner on and always available when needed. I workout in the mornings before things get rolling or it wouldn’t happen. This video should get millions of views…very new HS mama need to see this and every mama HSchooling need to watch this. Slow-it-down….your spot on!!
I love love Every Moment Holy. I use it all the time.
What a beautiful, peaceful morning routine! 🙌🏼 Love this video!
I love slow mornings! They don't happen enough in my home at the moment. This was a good encouragement to get back to that on the days we can!
I know you probably are aware but I would make sure the essential oil you're using around the littles is safe:) And even the safe ones need to be limited to 15 mins at a time
Peaceful ❤️ this video was lovely- thank you for sharing
You are always so inspiring. I’ve enjoyed watching your videos for years now!
And yes, please share your other routines!
I think I am going to do the essential oils.ans music as they children wake...such a great idea, Abby!
Thank you for sharing. Such a calm morning and relaxing music to watch your routine. I love your morning nook area to start your day. Please share your afternoon and evening routine as well.
That was such an inspiration! Thank you for your example. I have 4 kids but my oldest 2 will be in first and kindergarden. We're starting our year at the end of this month. Sometimes I wonder what it will be like when all of my kids are in school. Thank you for the sneak peak 😉 I look forward to hunting down or waiting patiently for an afternoon routine. Thanks for sharing!
Good am friend!! I love this video ....I have also been intentional about starting off the day with music & aromatherapy. I am very on it in the spring & fall. In the fall / winter we slow down and spend more time together talking cuddling and with handcrafts! Thanks for sharing ☺️
I definitely need to not hurry things in our day so much! Thank you for the tips! Such a wonderful video! 💕
Oh how I loooove a slow morning start for Momma❤
I would enjoy seeing your afternoon and evening routines 👍🏼 I enjoyed seeing your current morning routine ❤️
Oh I love your new, sweet morning rhythm. The music is soothing.
❤️❤️❤️
I most definitely want to see all the routines!!
A beautiful morning, thank you
Thanks!
Such a beautiful morning. Thanks for sharing. We have slow mornings too but later starts. My kids love their sleep haha
This is random, but I would love to see an updated review video of Using Language Well and how it is working with your kiddos years later.
I’m so excited to try this writing program! My 2nd grader has some muscular development issues that make writing physically difficult for him, therefore he doesn’t enjoy it. I think typing would really help him grow in his writing!
Essential oils and music is a great idea in waking them up ❤ probably going to use that idea ☺
I love those shelves!!!
Thanks! John just built them ❤️
So beautiful! Thank you for sharing ❤️
❤️
I felt relaxed just watching this lol
🥰
I'm trying to do this in my home. It's been tricky because I've had some health issues (hopefully on the mend) and my youngest goes to a neighborhood preschool but you've given me some good ideas.
I love the tips!
Was that a PawPaw tree in your yard? I want one! I have heard mixed info on how hard they are to grow. Any tips?
I have pushed back our start time to 10 AM because it was just too stressful getting everything I wanted to get done before 9 AM done so that I’m not distracted while doing school with my kids. It has helped tremendously, and the kids don’t feel rushed. We may go a little further into the afternoon, but that’s ok. Also, we are going through The Radical Book For Kids I picked up at GHC this summer, and when we’re done with that we’ll start The Ology. We are also going through the Psalms with the book Wonderfull: Ancient Psalms Ever New, just one psalm a day, and I am loving the conversations the kids and I are having.
With your slow mornings... and then getting busier in the afternoon... generally, when do you all finish the schooling? And I'd also love to see the afternoon routine!
We finish school around 2, and we always have to leave for dance or karate or music or SOMETHING around 4:30/5.
@@RootedinRest I look forward to the afternoon routine!
Have you ever done a flip through of The Ology? It seems used by so many but I can’t get a grasp of what it entails
That was lovely - thank you.
I don’t know if you are aware of this, but because you are in Florida, I thought I should warn you. Please keep an eye on the La Palma volcano eruption in the Canary Islands - scientists do believe there is a huge risk of the lower half of the island breaking off and causing a massive tsunami that would hit the east coast of the US put all of Florida under water. Not to scare anyone, but you all should know about it.
Random question, what all piano books do you use for beginners? My 9 year old is starting after Christmas! I know there is a learning book using hymns, do you know anything about that one?
Is that a mango tree? 🤩 time to move to Florida!
Yep! We’re about to have a yard full!
Great video. Do you happen to recall the name of the math game (addition facts) that one of your kids was doing? It looked like a good one and we're still struggling with math facts. Thanks!
At around what time do you finish family subjects & start independent work? And, would you share your crockpot recipe? It looks delicious ❤️
Where did you get that rug you are vacuuming. I am looking for one just like that
This is incredible! I am really struggling right now with the "busy" and how to get all the things done. I wonder if we slowed our mornings down like this if it would help? I just worry I wouldn't have enough time to fit everything in and get everything done. Especially now that my two big kids have jobs!
I definitely feel like it’s an act of surrender because I worry too that we won’t get around to the “must dos” if we linger, but it has proven to be a fruitful use of our time to focus in on what I feel truly matters. The rest finds its way into the fold and attitudes are generally much sweeter.
I'm trying to find a routine that works for us. We have a lot of health oriented appointments.
There are definitely seasons where schedules just aren’t possible, and a busy appointment season tends to be one of those for us. Praying that you find a rhythm through it all!
@@RootedinRest thank you. I had a mini panic attack about it today and just calmed myself down. I cant find an important folder so that didnt help.
What does your "schedule" look like?
Hi, what was the math fact app that is in this video?
Which app is your son using for math that you showed in this video?
Can you share your Spotify play list? I have a few list.
I don’t use Spotify but some of my faves on our “quiet time” list are
Let the Ground Rest
Jesus at the Center of it All
Tremble
Give me Jesus
Be Thou my Vision
@@RootedinRest Oh!! Thank you . I think I heard you say playlist on your phone and I assumed. 😬 😊
I'm extremely intrigued about the night zookeeper. My kids would love this, but I'm very cautious Of what they read and watch. As a christian I feel concerned
I hear ya!! Cautious is good! It’s been a bit of time since we’ve used N.Z. so I can’t really say!
