Hi Lance - good video. I'm sure lots of people fit new taps and bin a perfectly serviceable original one. I found mine, which had the two O-rings would get really hard to turn after a while so last time I polished the bore up with some well-worn Scotch-brite and lubricated the threads and O-rings liberally with silicone grease and it seems to be keeping that just serviced feel for good now.

G Day Colin, I found some orings that look like they will fit are a slightly bigger section and they did become hard to turn. the ones I used here are slightly smaller than original but still with plenty of protrusion. hopefully they stay loose. I dont need to use this tap it was just one in my shed I stumbled across from when we got flooded at work a few years back, looked like a nice quick video waiting to happen lol.

Hi Lance - If you are looking for things to do for videos I can give you a few suggestions. I reckon there are a few things about the DPA pump (things that can be done to diagnose its ills before opening it up for example) that could be worth covering. Also how to make up replacement fuel lines as I'm finding many of the after-market ones are rubbish made up with 6mm pipe and fittings that bottom out in the filters housings etc before the olives are crimped fully.

I don't have any tractors, but if you want leak proof garden type hose connections throw away the flat washers in the connectors and replace with orings not too fat of one's or you may not have enough threads for a strong connection. You do this and leaks will be a thing of the past

G Day Frank, Yes spot on they do a good job, there are 70 duro orings and a harder 90 duro as well and the 90 even though harder to the feel always seem to last longer. Thanks for watching and commenting

In my experience they only leak on a sparsely used machine, and only after filling the tank to the top. I make a mental note to fix it before next season just to repeat the entire process.
I wish two things of my memory.
    1. Get better so I remember to fix it.
    2. Get worse so I never remember I was going to fix it the year prior, or the year before that.

That is when you take note alright when its full and think when the tank gets down to near empty I will do that job but it just never gets that low.

I asked an English friend, "If Australians are Kiwis and English are Limeys , what are Americans?"
    He said "Bacon Cheese Burgers"

G day Doug, Now I have done some research and the New Zelanders are Kiwis, Us Australians are Aussies, British are Poms and the Americans are Yanks. Aussies dont drink Fosters or chuck a shrimp on the barby we all think Fosters is shit lol.

Hi Lance, it's time I fixed the leaky tap on my MF135. What's the best way to drain the tank?

I often just put a bit of fuel hose over the pump or carb inlet tube and let gravity sort it out.

What do you put on the threads before screwing back into the tank?

G Day Lloyd, A lot of people have no mechanical aptitude and think everything is throw away, well most things are come to think of it.
