I had the great pleasure to see Randy Rhoads twice with OZZY in 1981 and 1982 both shows in Ohio. I only had one ticket to the 82 show so i went up to the guy taking the tickets who wasn't dressed like the others. He looked like a wino, and used my Black Sabbath ticket stub from a Dec 81 show he said ...Wait a minute ..I said ..Man i'll give you $40 bucks ..He said . Forget it,.go ahead. Cool guy.

You have to remember.....This was 1979. Randy plays like a LEARNED guitar teacher. Which is what he was at this time.
We can already hear what he was on to. This is just another gig for a working band. Randy played well in this one.
As the late Kevin Dubrow said, Randy was already a local legend at this time. Everybody loved the guy. It's easy to see why. Just listen to some of his typical riffing here. His brilliance was already in evidence. God Bless his late mother Delores. She's with Randy now. Be well folks. Live long and prosper. Enjoy this entire clip and keep your hearts light.
Randy would have wanted it that way. Be happy and enjoy life.

All through the concert you can hear parts of randys playing when he was in ozzy. It's almost like the start before he was brilliant. Thank you so much. I was 1 and half years old then. It's cool to see an old video of QR before Randy lent his genius to Ozzy and to see this band before they hit the big time 4 years later. Kevin was persistent and it would eventually pay off although he was never happy with the results. Always seemed that he was never happy with what he achieved later on and felt that his band should of been bigger than it was. RIP Kevin and Randy. Two legends in their own right.

Thank god Ozzy found Randy. The progress Randy had between QR days and Blizzard of Ozz are second to none. Obviously QR wasnt going to make it so it was great that Randy was allowed to sprrad his wings

He didn't have a Marshall back then it was a custom head and a Traynor cab with 6 12s and and mxr distortion plus + it really sounded good for the pile that it was. Goes to show its really all in the hands.

Just good old rocknroll! Randy was awesome, my guitar god since I can remember. I was 13 (circa 1982) at the dept store checking out stereos with a buddy. Crazy Train came on and I'd never heard anything like it, totally blew my mind! Didn't know who it was, and my buddy had to explain it to me. First two Ozzy albums were the soundtrack of my youth LOL!

About 25 years ago a friend of mine played a QR album (it was vinyl) he picked up in Japan while in the NAVY, I never knew Randy was in QR at that time. I'll never forget listening to it and exclaiming hey that sounds like a Randy Rhodes lick, my friend was waiting for this, and was like read the liner notes. What a surprise, this was before the internet was huge, and you could just google everything. It is so cool now to be able to see this and witness the beginnings of greatness. All of these trolls are stupid, clearly QR were developing a sound and bands like The Grass Roots, Sweet, Bay City Rollers, and Slade with their success were factoring to their sound, more pop rock here than what evolved into the 80's Hair Band scene. KB may have become an ass, and ultimately he should have been happy with what QR did have. However, he was not completely wrong, QR did pave the way for the LA strip explosion, but he should have rode the wave and not been bitter about it. The fact that their record contract completely rob them of publishing royalties led to this anger, but he could have sued and renegotiated after Metal Health's success. Who knows what would have become of QR if he had kept his cool. RIP KB and RR.
