I like how Viserys seems more pissed about their former spouses memories than the fact that his daughter married his brother.
Targaryens 😅
He married his daughter best friend so man can’t speak
@@TylerSmith-or7knnot in the books
@@slothhouseproductions4231In the books, Rhaenyra and Alicent are NOT best friends and there's a pretty good age gap between them (like 8 years). The two never really liked each other in the books. At most, they were cordial.
@@Rebecca-re5ph I had read it backwards as "He married his best friend's daughter", oops
Point still stands, not odd behaviour in this setting
Oh but marrying your daughters childhood friend to give you a male heir isnt an insult to your late wife whom you sacrificed for a male heir
Well he had to marry someone might as well marry the girl that comforted your father on his deathbed and grew up with you than a 12 year old stranger plus in the books Allison was much 9lder and was never rha friend
That was on the show this is in the books
You’re looking for the showtard section it’s a little further down the aisle
@@MrNinja543 cry about it.
This is the book, not the show ,
Alicent is older in the books and his daughter was younger.
there was no friendship.
The king was younger than what was betrayed on the TV show... He and Alicent were not too far off in age.
He did not sacrifice his wife for an heir.
The C-section did not occur in the books.
HBO likes to add more drama
unfortunately character assassination
The king would have never done that to his wife.
He didn't want to remarry and argued with the council .
"An insulted on their memories" said the man who married his daughters' friend after the dead of Aemma 🤦🏼♂️🤣

@@jedimasters1462 I agree, I’m just saying you can’t write off everything mushroom says as false. I think of it like patchface. Almost all of what he says is nonsense, but occasionally says something with a least a little truth to it
The timelines match up. Aegon the Younger was born that year.
viserys is a fool not to marry the two at the beginning. no one would contest her right to the throne and she would not lose her Targeryen surname. instead he banished his brother and married a hightower.
True, not to mention how no one would dare to question Rhanyera's rule with Daemon by her side as the husband. Daemon is an uncontrollable madlad, yes, but he is loyal to his love for Viserys and Rhanyera
@@Ego208viserys was always jealous of daemon bc he was way more confident and loved by the people.
Wasn't it common knowledge in the books that Daemon & his second wife were "close" with his niece?
Not sure it was ‘common knowledge’ but yeah, it’s suggested (likely by mushroom, but I can’t remember) that the three of them *got along*.
Yeah, they'd go on double-dragon-dates with Laena and Laenor
@@Orinatl lol, thank you. Show watcher but love the shorts...I thought I had seen that there was some love between the trio. Laena was also closer to Rhaenyra in the books too, which I do wish the show would have touched on.
So, if it came from Mushroom, team Black and an unreliable source - right, then was left out of the show....was it omitted for the storyline or was it a lie?
@@indiadecoseytillman nobody knows where this narrative sits in the ‘reality’ of the story. Whether this is only the select views for the audience and there is more going on, or not. GRRM loves giving conflicting narratives-but especially for House Targaryen.

@@made-line7627 this makes something I wondered a little clearer...Daemon in the show told Laena that she was as pretty as her brother. I was taken back by that BUT had no clue the folks were double dating. Daemon was no joke.
OMFG Viserys was such a hypocrite. He fukin sacrificed his wife for an heir that didn't even live 24 hours. The proceeds to mount his Hand's daughter & make her the new queen

lol I wish we had that awkward conversation between Viserys and Daemon about his marriage to Rhaenyra
And he is Hot AF.
It wasn’t just Daemon’s abilities as a Warrior or General. She Married him because he was a Dragon Rider as well. In any kind of War against Alicent and her kids she wouldn’t want a good Warrior, Tactician, and Dragon Rider able to be convinced to join Alicent so she had to give him incentive.
The opening photo is awesome. Daemon and Rhaenyra saved the Targaryen bloodline. Daenerys wouldn’t exist if Daemon and Rhaenyra hadn’t of had 2 sons.
So these 2 would ve Danaerys grandparents??
@@deebell8727 great great great grandparents i think
@@deebell8727Through Viserys' line (Rhaenyra's youngest son), if I'm not mistaken.
Aegon ends up marrying Daenaera Velaryon and has five children with her, two sons (one that died trying to conquer Dorne and the other being Baelor the Blessed, the guy that locked his three sisters up in a maidenvault because he didn't want them to tempt him into sin)
And from Viserys (Aegon younger brother) you got Aemon the Unworthy, Princess Naerys and Aemon the Dragonknight. Daenerys would come from Aemon and Naerys' line... or secretly Naerys' and Aemon's line depending on who you believed...there was a whole row about it with Aegon the Unworthy trying to discredit his own son Daeron because he favoured his bastard Blackfyre son with his cousin Daena over him.
Daeron and his sister Daenerys (other Daenerys' namesake) would marry the Martell prince and princess and that is how Dorne ultimately end up as part of the Seven Kingdoms. Through marriage, not war.
Daeron has a lot of children, one of whom marries a Dayne. It's from this marriage that Aegon (nicknamed Egg and best known for his traveling companion, the Hedge Knight, as well as for trying to revive the dragons and causing the tragedy of Summerhall in which he and a lot of his family died) is born, as well as the Aemon best known as the maester of the Night's Watch. Princess Rhaelle, their sister, would become Robert Baratheon's grandmother and it's through her that Robert would claim the Iron Throne.
Aegon (Egg) would marry a Blackwood and almost all of his children would break their engagements with other Houses to marry for love. His eldest would abdicate and marry a Jenny of Oldstones, one of his other sons and daughters would marry each other. From them Aerys and Rhaella would be born and from Aerys and Rhaella...Daenerys Stormborn.
But yes, great-great-great-great-great-grandparents...😂😂
…..AND Aegon Targaryen/ Jon Snow!! 😁
Together with the Greens they almost wiped out the Targaryen bloodline. Even the dragons never recovered and soon all died. Everything over a chair and a muddy prophesy
All events in House of the Dragon are based on ,,If Mushroom is to be believed...".
Viserys: How could you do this so soon after Laenor's death?
Rhaenyra: WAIT LAENOR'S DEAD? Oh... Oh yeah. So sad. He'd want me to carry on though....
how long after aemmas death did he marry alicent though? nvm looked it up basically the exact same period of time lmao she died end of 105 and they married sometime in 106
Yeah but as king viserys was looking for a male heir he was under a lot of pressure on the other hand rhaenyra already had three sons. Totally different scenarios
I guess that could be why he was so upset, like their actions triggered his own internal guilt
I believe there was a rumour that they were banging well before Aemma died -- *_but_* there was _also_ a rumour that the reason why Otto hated Daemon so much, was because Alicent had lost her maidenhead to him...
Red Keep Court-life is _wild_ , yo...
@@ratikantrout1865 no he wasn’t my guy he had already named rhaenyra his heir and kept true to that even after having sons he did it to cope with his grief over losing aemma
@@7eddiii dude I replied to a comment which has been deleted in which somebody compared rhaenyra marrying daemon after laena death with her father marrying alicent
The book is an in-universe history book of sorts and itself tells the reader multiple times that it was written by multiple UNRELIABLE sources who have reason to skew events in order to make themselves or their side look better.
And I claim Mushroom was on mushrooms most of the time and Rhaenyra was his dealer
Their marriage literally saved their family line, Viserys really cared about this more than bastards potentially inheriting the throne lol😂
It’s honestly miracle that the velaryons are still on rhaenyra and daemon’s side after their only two children coincidentally died before Rhaenyra and daemon decided to tie the knot.
Rhaenyra's eldest sons and Laena's daughters were betrothed very early in the books
The Velaryons had to fight for Rhaenyra for their granddaughters if not for Rhaenyra herself
She LOVED him, and he made her feel ALIVE!
He also groomed her as a child but k
Take a seat, Daemon. Right over there
It would be cool if mushroom would be put in the series
It’s really funny how the Viserys more angry at his brother and daughter getting married than the fact that Rhaenyra has three sons whom are Bastards and refuse to acknowledge that his actions and his rule was one of the biggest factors that led to the strained relationships.
It is different in the book. Those children have two white parrents and a grandmother with brown hair. Both Corlys and Viserys never doubts they are true born children and they have a reason to believe that.
blame the show for thinking were too stupid to tell characters apart its not supposed to be that obvious they are bastards like the other guy said also having bastard children isnt an actual issue you can legitimize them at anytime
At least they could show Rhaenys with black hair.in that way the alicent's claim would be just a suspension not an obvious fact and make viserys less look stupid. @7eddiii
@@saltzkruber732 Where do you get those facts? Rhaenys had black hair not brown. Strong boys had brown hair and brown eyes. Rhaenys's eyes were blue. Non of Rhaenys's characteristics exist in them. Also, Laenor's bastards from non Valyrian woman have full Valyrian characteristics. You claim that Rhaenys's genes never existed neither in her children neither in her grandchildren(except Rhaenyra's children) and her genes suddenly came out when her son married Valyrian woman?
@user-kx8pd4fr4g I don't think the producers will be willing to show laenor's bastards. They fully introduced him as a gay man and because of this Rhaenyra couldn't have true born sons or daughters from this marriage. honestly some of the changes from the fire and blood were unnecessary.
I am anxiously waiting for season 2
What are you doing Uncle?
What you mean? That's normal to keep the bloodline pure, by the way this is the real brave "DAEMON" not that trash usurper failed king of yours.
- Calla Blackfyre😰
@_antillas8674 very very true
Believe nothing written about Daemon and Rhaenyra in those slanderous tomes. They were written by the Maesters of the citadel, who were a central part of the Green faction.
They only provided evidence of the Greens (and no one else) having considered the possibility that Rhaenyera’s children were illegitimate. This only means they were scheming to steal her throne.
The Maesters are deliberately elusive about Rhaenyera’s mother’s characteristics so as to further imply that they could’ve been bastards.
There isn’t even much evidence to suggest Laenor was gay, just more speculation remarked upon by the Greens. And even if he was, Harwin Strong broke his collarbone at the tourney immediately following the wedding (hence the moniker: “breakbones”) so was “out of action” during the period when Jace and Joff were conceived.
I get so tired of all the judging Rhaenyra had to endure 🙄
So much drama could ahve been avoided if she had been wed to Daemon in ghe first place when she was young.
Possibly. But Otto's hated Daemon for a _long_ time- it was *why* he favoured Rhaenyra becoming heir instead of Daemon, but she was only ever meant to be a stopgap, until he could maneuver the situation he needed to- in putting Alicent in the King's way...
Even if Viserys _had_ been willing to annul Daemon & Rhea's marriage & marry the pair, Otto would have dragged his heels & created as much opposition as humanly possible.
Or if she hadn't thrown a tantrum and ended her match making tour months early. She had the chance to marry anyone she wanted, something no heir has had before, and she squandered it because she didn't think the men vying for her hand were good enough. She straight up insults several of them, and then instigates a murder. Remind me again why anyone wants her for a queen? Seems to me she is a horrible politician. She's a spoiled brat with absolutely no mind for politics.
@@HarleyGrestinin the books, Rhaenyra's match with Laenor was already decided before her marriage tour
The tour was to allow Rhaenyra to form alliances
She actually behaved well during the tour in the books
Also why are you bringing up the show version when the video starts "Did you know in the books"
@@sanjaykarthicks1226 surely we aren’t reading the same book. The tour I read about talked about all the men vying for her hand and said absolutely nothing about alliances. It also took place BEFORE she was betrothed to Laenor. I bring up the show because the books are often cited as “inaccurate” with “unreliable narrators” but even with that, you’re still wrong. She married Laenor in 114. The Blackwood vs Bracken incident was two years before then. It was decided she would marry Laenor in a small council meeting AFTER her “alliance making” tour as you seem to think it is. It takes two seconds to look all this up, but sure, we can go with your made up version of events instead. Whatever helps you sleep at night 😂
@@HarleyGrestin maybe I mixed the events up
It's been a while since I read F&B
So she HAD to marry him because she decided to sleep with him and got pregnant with someone other than her husband. Again. Who exactly made her sleep with Daemon? Ah, yes. No one. This is natural consequence to her actions. Wild how Viserys didn't disinherit her when she married the man she replaced as heir because he needed to be as far away from the throne as possible. If anything, it significantly weakened her claim.
They lie and say did you know in the books. It makes me wonder if I’ve read the same book
Rhenera was a wild one, I think they were fooling around before the marriage. 😂

These graphics are next level 😮. Amazing❤
That theory seems to make Aegon 3 and Viserys 2 older than they seem in the story...but I guess we'll see how the series plays out in regards to them.
The show made them probable bastards
cant be true since in the book it was said that Rhaenyra loved her uncle since she was young and only disered him more than anything
I think viserys biggest mistake is marrying alicent and also denying damon from marrying his daughter.
As if big V cared about the dead spouses.
