      Thanks Billy, I need to get mine done too. I am starting the car tomorrow!

      Awesome! I'm stuck on a crappy work shift this week and it stopped any progress on my car. PM me your address. I have something I'd like to mail you. I think I threw out your shipping boxes so I lost the address.

    I switched my deluxe to the regular one cause it’s black instead of grayish blue hue. I found the black reflects the lights better since I converted them to led lights. I just don’t know if they have the clock in black.

      Thanks George, there are seemingly never ending mini projects within the larger project on a resto like this.

    If you could show the clip for the speedo cable attatched to cluster on the work bench so we could see what it takes to remove the cable from the cluster.
    thank you

    Where did you get the idea that the 69 Mach I tach was originally mechanical. That is not so. Otherwise, thanks for the video.

    Do you have links to the repro lenses, fascia and rear circuit board ?
    The finished cluster came out beautiful but would have loved to have seen a more detailed
    step by step video.

      Those parts can be ordered from any Mustang parts place, NPD, CJ Pony Parts, etc.

    One of the most important steps in the process is transferring the card board insulators before the circuit board change. Without doing so, the instruments with grounds and cause a trouble shooting nightmare. Totally missed in this video.

    • @MustangConnection1
      @MustangConnection1  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Christian, Very good point and you are 100 percent correct. This particular video is not a how to but more of an overview of the process vs. a full step by step. Worth including in this type of video for sure.

      Where do the cardboard spacers go?

      After installing the cardboard spacers very carefully with a new circuit board mine now isn’t working , but it has to be the issue . Is there any TH-cam videos on this process

    nice job,,but why didn't you clean the back of the bezel,,and restore the gauge housings??? my husband does it and makes the gauges just like new..

    • @MustangConnection1
      @MustangConnection1  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      The back of the housings were in great shape, no need to mess with the factory correct finish and not sure what cosmetic or functional impact that has on anything and you cannot see the back of the housing.

    I'm not sure if anyone is looking for feedback as old as this video is, but I bought a new bezel and seems its much more difficult to restore these than I thought. Are you still doing these?

    • @MustangConnection1
      @MustangConnection1  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Rick, I am not sure I am following. Do you mean transferring the guages, etc into the new bezel ? I haven't done a 69 in a while but I would imagine nothing has changed in the process.

    • @MrCbell57
      @MrCbell57 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@MustangConnection1 I was curious if you still did these as a service to others or were you working on your own bezels and clusters you owned. By your message that tells me you no longer work on them. Thank you.

    • @MustangConnection1
      @MustangConnection1  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@MrCbell57 Rick, Sorry this was more of a how too and was for a 69 project I was working on. I can recommend a couple of places you can send them to do the change over.

    It's frustrating that they can't get the repro parts right, but the end result turned out great

      Ron, Yep a given most of the time, thankfully this wasn't too bad to remedy. Thanks for checking commenting and sharing, always appreciated.

    How many bulbs are there in total (it would be really kind if you could specify each too)? I'm thinking of sprucing up my '69 dashboard with new lights and new lenses, but I don't know how many bulbs I need.

      Just buy a couple of 10 packs there are cheap, if you watch the video they are clearly stated 194's. th-cam.com/video/cxYacHm5L6U/w-d-xo.html

  • @nikolatesla248

    Is that a Scott Drake main side cluster or Dynacorn?
    Thanks

    • @MustangConnection1
      @MustangConnection1  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      I got it from Drake but it may be a Dynacorn part. Not sure if Drake makes this or it is simply something they are stocking for resale. I don't believe there is more than on company producing this part.

      MrMach12004 . They sell a quartz conversion kit for about 80 bucks or so. I may get one and attempt the conversion, I will video if I do.
