That's nor a Blade Forums etch, btw. It's a Blade Forums tang stamp. But you are dead right about the actual blade etch. It's hideous, and I polished mine off as soon as I got it. Also oiled the wood to make it darker and glossier, and made the bolster a bit shinier. So all done, and a pocket knife that's as close to perfect as you could want. Hope you're still enjoying yours.
