Overall smaller but much more technical, maybe a little shorter gap and 5-6 feet less tall, but I’d way rather Guinea the hardline one haha it’s got a much longer landing and more straight forward run in.
If Mark isn’t hitting it, you KNOW the sketch factor is insane. Thanks for letting us in to the mental process of tackling new features, and keeping us safe and shredding longer. 👍🏻
Definitely the right call to leave it, cool to see how you pro's have the same mental struggles as us mere mortals 😂😂 enjoy Wales bro and hopefully see you riding hardlines next year that would be sick 🤙
Love seeing the mental process, that drop is gnarly and good to wait till you’re “feeling it”. Congrats on 1m bud! Can’t wait to see the new play button
Good to see your process on this Mark. I find sometimes if I spend a bit of time visualizing hitting something, it helps when you get back up there to actually do it. Good luck. You got this!
i think it looks off man. I think you're gonna over jump it. it's so steep that if you're too long your dropping to the bottom. I think you should build wood ramp and roll i a few times. You might find out you're coming in WAY to hot.
If it doesn’t feel right, it isn’t. Good call, champ! I just really dug into a pretty big build today and realized how much work I have on my hands. Nevermind “this” part where I will actually have to send it at some point to show it can be done. Thanks for reminding me that the process takes exactly how long it takes.
Thanks!! Most of the new subs are from TH-cam shorts so I’m still not generating much ad revenue. I feel the same as always. It’s just me over here doing everything!! A hectic schedule… haha. Thanks again.
Careful, calculated risk assessment and management is key in this sport. I'm laid out with a broken ankle for the next 5 weeks. I have a good friend with a broken elbow. You made the right call Mark.
Humans enjoy making machines that enable them to fling their bodies into spaces, at speed, and around solid impalement objects in ways that a machine-less existence could never accomplish.
Stoked to see you get it in the future. Lose that set up jump and just make the run in smooth. Then you have way more options to brake or pedal to get the speed just right for that beast. Good luck.
Good for you to play it smart and not push it. Tough to tell online, but could you just eliminate that little gap jump thingy where the big old log was so that you can keep your tires on the ground there and control your speed better going into the drop? All those little gaps are cool, but it feels like there's risk that the last little jump there adds to the huge drop that might not be worth it. The drop is way more important. The section up above is already nuts. Give yourself something smooth and secure going into that big drop.
Intelligent thinking is important not if you risk your life dangerously as if we want that such as we who do care about you in the ways we do and what you do want you to have a lot of successful moments in life with happiness included not really us wanting you to be stupid how I mean. We come to watch your content more so for the success and processes of it not for us to watch you get hurt from stupid moves how I mean. So awesome work on choosing to do what you feel is correct for this time and I hope you have amazing moments at hardline and when you're ready I hope you do amazing with your creativity and ride on with your projects such as your drop you have been working on. 👍
How does it compare to the RB hard-line road gap- drop? Size distance wise...

Love seeing the mental process, that drop is gnarly and good to wait till you’re “feeling it”. Congrats on 1m bud! Can’t wait to see the new play button
Thanks!
Rad to relive the day, it was the right call for sure, a lot going on in your mind before a big trip. Continue to be awesome bud!
Huge congrats for a million subs! I think you had 30k when I started watching lol, so rad to see. Thanks for the content man we all appreciate it.
Thanks a ton!

Absolutely. Thanks!
While watching those trails in this insane fog atmosphere in western Canada gives me envy to buy a plane ticket
You won’t get fog mid summer though, come in spring or fall!
@@MarkMatthewsMTB Thanks for the answer! Ok, noted.
Is it worth it to come in spring/fall while considering that it might be colder and wetter?

It’s a grind. Good luck!
congrats on 1 mil man. I remember when you had around 30k on youtube. Love how the vids still have that og feel still, but are just megaaaaa now

Saw you at Dyfi Friday and forgot to ask if you'd hit it yet! Hope you had a good weekend. Looking forward to the clips from Dyfi!

Thanks Paul!

Wow thanks 🔥

That’s why bikes are neat
There is more flow and speed control than I ever had while walking.....
You ride so smoothly and your ride is silent! Awesome! Stoked for you to do what you feel!
I appreciate that!
congrats on 1m Mark! Nice way to approach without getting too crazy
Thanks a ton!
Such a thoughtful and logical analysis - you break this down really well. A wise call!
Thanks!
Bro a million subs! I've been here since a few thousand holy moly
Legend! Thanks 😃🙏
Gnarly, good call on safety and mental readiness. A valuable lesson for all of us to learn.
100%
Good choice, the run in looks difficult. That looks huge!
Hard choice, but I had to do what felt right at the time.
Glad you showed yourself walking away. That’s a huge part of longevity.
Need to ride every day 🙏
Congrats on 1m! Can’t wait to see you hit this. Did you get a chance to ride any of the hardline course?
I couldn’t get the permission too, red bull is very right on it, but man does it ever look fun/scary haha
@@MarkMatthewsMTB that sucks but makes since. Keep up what you’re doing and maybe one day you’ll get the invite. Definitely have the skill.
When you put that much effort into it, you gotta get the first attempt absolutely perfect

For sure, the jump can come back later once I know the speed
SMART call Mark! 🙏

Good Smart move there! You got this
Yes! Thank you!
You should come to Australia, Tasmania and ride the parks next season
Would be sick!!
thats light work
which model of frame from marin is that?
A prototype freeride bike
@@MarkMatthewsMTB thank you :)
does new alpine trail support full 200mm fork ?
No, this is the prototype DH
He is riding a prototype freeride bike from Marin, Matt Jones is on one as well at RB Hardline.
Alpine Trail will not take a 200mm fork.
@@tonyjofenig6833 yea mate ! I saw jones new bike and was really confused. 😂
Hardline next year ? 🔥
Do it when you feel ready! Does the helmet just look huge or is it?
It’s a wide frame but fits well and is super lightweight

Top flex! If the times not right etc...xxxx
Mark matthews. Im mathew anjalo 😁
So ur not gonna hit it?
Of course I will, I just didn’t that day.
you should hit it first. think of the bragging rights @user-ek8tn1tw7b
Respect
the jump really close to the lip of the drop is too sketch. you should remove that and the run-in would be so much better!
I think the same thing
tu dois pas atterir trop long c'est dangereux ! reste technique dans le flow du bike .. pas trop de vitesse a mon avis et plonge le bike sur l arrête👉
id send it on my XC bike.... for 1.02 M subs. make my YT play button my tombstone
wouhou first
