I always thought the way like all the hitmen in BCS and BB are silent 95% of the time had a sort of unintentionally funny effect in a lot of scenes, and this is one of the best examples lmao

They show up and see a bunch of shell casings and the car shot to shit from all angles, they would probably assume 8-10 men were lying in wait and shot the vehicle as it passed, killing the driver and passenger, the men assume both people in the car are dead and leave, and afterwards Nacho calls the Salamancas and leaves the car passing out after making the call.
I feel like maybe the writers almost had the plan be not smart on purpose so that Lalo would pick up on things and maybe it would be more obvious for the audience? Probably not though and plus been a while since I watched the show

This was strike one for Victor. Strike two was him showing up at Gale's murder scene. Strike three was him trying to cook meth. Homie took initiative a bit too hard. Gus did not approve.
Why did Victor have to shoot Nacho in the gut? That is incredibly dangerous and could lead to Nacho bleeding out quite quickly before anyone could find him. What would Gus do with Victor and Tyrus if Nacho died right then and there before he could point the Cousins over at the Espinosa gang.
Yeah the shell casings make it very obvious it was shot consistently at a very close range, unlikely for a moving car. Should've at least made up some trap or something that would've stopped it.

Some fun irony I've recently noticed: THIS event, more than anything else is what probably led to Lalo coming to ABQ. As in, Hector having a stroke and going into a coma may have been an issue, but if you think about it, it was THIS faked attack and the death of Arturo that clearly SPOOKED the cartels enough that they sent in Lalo to get a handle on the situation. I mean just listen to how clearly freaked out Bolsa is when he calls Gus about the attack. Meaning that everything with Lalo is really more GUS's fault rather than Nacho's XD

I don't think it matters, Hector's presence is and always will be challenged by Gus. Hector is going to either die or get paralyzed in one way or another by Gus, or if he manages to stretch long enough, Heisenberg would've did something to get Hector into a wheelchair or a coffin. And Lalo would've came. It was more really a matter of time. If Hector didn't get into a wheelchair in BCS, he would've gotten into it in BB, and then Lalo would've came then. And then you have even more trouble for Heisenberg. But I think Lalo would've treated Heisenberg much better, because Lalo has the same ambitions as Gus, he just wasn't as established in ABQ and too "Behind the scenes" to do what Gus do. This is why he was able to guess correctly that Gus was trying to create his own lab and sell his own drugs, he just kept getting stifled by things around him to be able to find out until the end of BCS.

He's like that french guy from Ocean's 12. Which was what Gus did in Last season of BCS, he knew Lalo was coming back. He took his time and prepare, which as we all know he did prepare for the eventuality that Lalo found his lab and what he wants to do with Lalo. And let's not forget, Gus was outsmarted by Walt. so Walt > Gus > Lalo.
The problem with this scene is that, since the driver was already dead for hours and was covered in ice he has no blood in his body. Therefore when he is shot there's no blood anywhere. Whereas when Nacho is shot in shoulder and abdomen he is drenched in blood since obviously he's alive. Cousins often deal with dead bodies and blood, I think they would've noticed this.
This scene totally broke my suspension of disbelief when I first saw it, because there's no way the Salamanca twins would ever believe this was a real ambush.

These guys all have sweet cars. They also favor GMs of various makes, but pretty much mid to late 60s. That is a Nacho differentiator - he drives an AMC. A much rarer car. Also cool, but just not GM. I'm sure there are gangs that mostly go for Fords... same era.

That's not how real world gangland hits go down. They're littered with shell casings, especially if there're multiple shooters (it's easier to dispose of the weapon than it is to pick up shell casings to stop the traces of weaponry). The whole point of this scene is that it's staged to look like multiple shooters (maybe as many as five) took the Salamancas by surprise. It's perfectly realistic in that respect

If the car was parked then why are the bullet holes literally all over the place and in the middle of nowhere you’d have a hard time sneaking up to a car.
