I won't blame their team to put them in the best condition depending on the circumstances, context matters. I will always be on team live vocals and yes the production was bad but to be fair for everyone I still try to process how they found the time to rehearse that performance and perform it that clean in a middle of a WT knowing that the song isn't on their setlist and the setlist was big, we are talking about 33 different songs/12 choreo including 3 new ones and changes on the others. It was the 1st time they performed that song and the last couple of month they were doing the promo of Woke Up between Korea and Japan, were recording the mini album, the next prelerease MV and probably choreo and rehearsing for the WT . They did plenty of live vocals in 4 differents countries during 2 hours and that's really matters for me you can see that they really focused on live vocals, including new live version of songs during the WT. They were actually doing it less than 48h before that performance in Indonesia after flying between Korea, Taipei, Singapore Indonesia and back to Korea in 9 days . They were still perfoming live here , they always do and the mic are always on , it's more about production and how loud is the back track and how low are the mic and I think having the backtrack support in that specific occasion was the right choice, they make us forget it but they are still human kids singing in their 3rd language without being fluent.

There wasn't a production issue when they played videos from VCT on the big screen. They do that so the performance is running alongside it. Specifically on Chisa's part where she says "Just remember the time, remember the climb", on the big screen it shows the journey the players went through to get to where they are. They also did adjust the audio so we hear XG and the audience is muted (you'll see this on fancams) but the camerawork was not the best here... defo could've been better. They just dropped the official performance to Undefeated on their channel. This is a gaming event which is the focus not this performance. They were live I think the backtrack was a bit loud though. Camera work was awful.
FYI, XG always sings live they’re just that damn good that their live vocals sounds just like the recordings! Some music shows might insist even demand artists use a backtrack or recording like on Korean music shows but XG always sings live!
I always prefer for any artist to sing live. Since XG is in the middle of their tour, I would rather they take care of their voices and save the live singing for their tour. The production of this was not the best and the camera work was disappointing. Overall, I’m glad XG got to experience something different for the first time. Performing in front of a gamer crowd is indeed different.
Yall got into the kpop late so I see yall not use to hearing live vocals. They were in face singing live. However, the production was bad. You can tell they were singing live bc that back track was low one and you could hear straining, movement and breathing. Also a couple of notes were off (but I have an ear for music so most ppl probably couldn’t tell) A-lot of 2nd gen audio is like this. XG songs majority of the time live. Just watch all their lives not on music shows bc music shows once had a rule where there was no lip sync but now they make everyone do it. XG has stable voices like Shinee when they sing live so ppl love to say they lip syncing when in reality it’s just practice. However Shinee still dnt knw how to properly lip sync so you can always tell when they are bc they opening their mouth too big 😂 but we knw they can sing so it doesn’t bother us. Same with XG at this point I watched so many live performance I can tell when they are singing and when they are not. You’ll see in October! I’ll be there too! Hopefully y’all got sound Check so you can’t properly hear those vocals.

They were singing live. They always sing live. With videos like this they always edit in post production. Yes there’s a backtrack but they did sing. Not fair to sit here bored and uninterested because YOU think they’re not singing. They did the best with what they had seeing as they weren’t the main event. They can’t help how post production edits and uploads this. You had to have been there
I feel so bad for Jurin, Chisa, Hinata, Harvey, Juria, Maya and Cocona because some people might see them for the first time with that performance and think they weren't actually singing live which the fancams at the event showed they clearly were. Hopefully other music acts and labels have seen that camera work and directing from VXT and refuse to perform for them in the future because they made it very clear that they didn't care about what was actually happening on stage which is disrespectful to the performers. XG deserves so much better then being a stage prop for video highlights that could've easily been shown before or after XG performed their song
yes, but this is a paid song specifically for this event, so who sings it is not really important for Riot games, it is an XG song, but at the same time it is not, that's why it is not included in the setlist of the concerts.
unfortunately whoever directed this performance did a terrible job at letting the performers perform. with that being said, you can hear in this video that the mics are indeed on. its just that for whatever reason they decided to mix the backtrack so that it was just a hair louder than their actual mics which kind of drowned them out. throughout the performance you can tell the mics tend to move around a lot and you can hear them getting bumped around as they do their choreo near the end of the performance as the backtrack fades out. you can also hear them breathing once they hit that end pose. XG performs live EVERY time its just that the directors did a very poor job with this one :/

I think it’s a fair assessment. I think this was just a general thought that happened to be triggered after this xg stage. I don’t see it as any ill will against xg or anything. XG has done live vocals and people have seen it. Sadly riot didn’t do them justice here. Let’s be honest RIOT cares more about league than they do valorant because league brings more viewership. just to comment, the performance was in fact live, in the fancams you can notice it more clearly, the official sound was improved post-production.
