Oh my goodness, I cannot wait to receive my copy! As much as I enjoyed the flip through of the book with you, your gasps and giggles with the turn of each page had me on the edge of my seat. Your expressions just couldn't be contained ... and the funny thing was that my expressions mirrored yours. You've got lots of videos ahead of you for the pages in the book, and I can't wait to color along with you! Well done Rita!!!!

It's so full of life and love, she really is growing!! Thanks for taking us through! The big cat would be a leopard, as cheetahs are small and slender with singular spots, whereas a leopards spots are grouped into rings like on the page here. Jaguar are native to South America and are like chunky leopards. Their spots are a little different, too! The fox looks like a fennec, a treat to look up if you like extremely cute animals. ... Sincerely, a nerd about animals since early childhood, 😅
I hate to say this but I have a couple of Rita's books and I haven't felt inspired to color in them, but this book is a MUST have!!! She has really outdone herself this time! I love, love, love this book! I will probably order 2 copies!

On the bustrip through the desert she is heading to Mali (a country in Africa). It is written on the bus up front. I think most people heard of Mali for the first time when Madonna adopted a baby from over there many years ago. The "kitchen" page is the entrance of the bazaar in Marrekesch (= Basar Marrekesch), a popular city in Morocco.On the double page wih the black background it says Marokko. This is Morocco in German.
Sudafrika means South Africa....my country... and kapstadt means Cape Town, one of our most beautiful cities. It is very difficult to get hold of Rita's books in South Africa but I will enjoy the journey through your eyes.

As an Egyptophile, I of course am drawn to the incredible ancient Egyptian pages. Oh my goodness. But the cheetah and Maasai warrior pages, wow wow WOW, what stunners! I love your reactions to the beautiful images so deftly crafted by Rita. We definitely have an embarrassment of riches when it comes to all of the amazing adult colorist illustrators and artist. My guesses for the animals- Leopard in the tree-Leopards love to climb trees, you can just make out some rosette spots ( cheetahs only have polka dots, and jaguars are native to the jungles of South America). Lemurs of Madagascar- I don't think they are Meerkats because of the stripes on the tail. Not sure if Meerkats have stripes. Desert fox- adapted to the desert and hunts at night.
Beautiful book, I guess I'm going to cave in and buy this, even though I really wanted to finish more in the books I already have *sigh* BTW, took me a while to remember it, but alligators have only the upper row of their teeth visible, while you can see both on crocodiles due to their snout being more v-shaped ...

Have just ordered it through your link with no problem except I’ve got to wait until 16 to 25 Oct! I must be patient…! The big cat you like is a leopard and the fox is a desert fox - it’s big ears help to keep it cool I think. I just love all the big cats so my favourite page has to be the leopard.
