I used your shop build videos for motivation. Now I going a pretty ideal shop of my own, Thanks to God. I do automotive repair as my 5-9 after work. I pray one day I can work form myself. I just need to stay focused and continue investing in my future. Thank You for the time spent creating these videos.
You are so right about the value of empty space in a shop. I have everything on wheels and it’s still like walking through a maze. Love the green beast. Never seen one before. Great job.
Your shop is awesome! My tiny 10x16 could fit inside yours with room left over, lol. It is refreshing to hear that many of your tools are second-hand and that you took your time and saved up for the new items you have. So many of the new woodworkers feel they have to have all of the latest tools that big-name TH-camrs have. What if their business fails or worse, they find out they don't like it? They invested a lot of money into something they don't like. It took me years to accumulate the tools I have. Some I inherited and many were second-hand, and slowly I bought newer tools. But some of the second-hand tools function perfectly so why upgrade? It takes years of work to get to where you are. A perfect example of someone working hard to get to a place to upgrade your shop to a nice roomy building. Congratulations on the new shop!! PS- I recently purchased a second-hand 10" radial arm saw for $75.00 and I keep a dado stack on it for my rabbits and dados. I also have my eye on the new Rigid space-saving miter saw. (like the Bosch one everyone has) They are running about $300 for the 10" at Home Depot, which is about $300 less than the Bosch 10" saw.
Thanks man! I want a radial arm saw just for that reason. I saw someone else put a dado stack on theirs and i was thinking that would be perfect for making half lap joints for x base tables.
You have a very nice shop! Yes, definitely go with a French cleat wall or walls. I have French cleats on all 4 of my shop walls and it works really great! Your wife has good taste in tools!😀😀

Nice real "working" shop. Keep up the good work, you will love that space! I have the same size shop but its from 1882, 8' ceilings, which are too low. You were smart to build with high walls and open ceiling. Good luck with it all! I have to implement that filter system into my Mr. Cool unit as well.

I wish I had a Taylor clamp rack when I was at your stage in the game, would have made a huge difference way back when. I have a much bigger version now, collects more dust than it gets used but my current business focus doesn't use it as much now that I'm not building cabinets. Keep up the good work! The shop will get finished at some point, I've been doing this for 30 plus years and my shop still isn't done.
@@NolanBuilt mine is a pneumatic version, no hydralics. An air hog, takes around 20CFM at 90 PSI but you can't glue stuff fast enough to keep up with it!

Fixing to build a very similar wood shop. Mine will be 30x30 with 10' walls. My metal building will be insulated on the exterior walls and ceiling as well as I plan on doing very similar to what you done on the inside. I plan on using 2'' rigid Foam Panels in 4x8 sheets in the walls and 3/4 plywood on the exterior of the inside walls. My question is on the Mini Split. I have looked at all the My Cool units and I too planned on over doing it lol with the BTU's. I wanted to ask how yours does as far as keeping your shop comfortable? I am installing my own Insulated Garage Door as well as both man doors will be exterior grade insulated doors from lowes. Thanks for any info you can give me man. I'm not to far from you. I am over in the southwest corner of Va Close to Bristol Va/Tn. Love your channel and the work you are putting out. I am fixing to dive into the CNC world myself. I am a one man custom cabinet shop. Awesome! Yea the mini split I have is 36k btu with the horrible uninsulated roll up door. And it keeps it comfortable in the shop. Normally between 65 and 70 degrees in the winter and around 70 in the summer. And that’s with a lot of air loss. You’ll love the CNC world when you get into it. You can make so many cabinets really fast. It’s crazy. Congratulations on your new shop build.
You using rock sol insulation? Ridge Peak appears to dip mid way across the overhead (maybe it’s the metal construction) I’ll be looking for the mini split filtration video @jay bates did a version of it too, Stay positive and maybe don’t point out the deficiencies as much👍🏼
Nice shop, congratulations, hard work paying off! I am insulating and finishing walls in detached building at our new to us home. Been thinking about air filter system for my shop mini-split then I saw yours...nice. I will be building one soon after wall paint goes on. Does your filter setup hinge to allow access to regular filter etc.? My ceilings are only 8ft...still working on idea and measurements for my unit.

Thanks man! Yea I had low ceilings in my garage shop and I hated it. Plus I needed tall ceilings for the clamp carrier system.

yes the bottom is just attach with kreg screws and pocket holes. once i take that off it allows access to the unit.
