I too am a direct descendant of Mayflower passengers (11 total). I came across these replies and noticed this one by Alicia Lowe. I know it’s a long shot, but out of curiosity I am wondering if there’s a family connection. I am a descendant from Lowe’s. My grandmother is a Lowe and through her line is my path to the Mayflower. So I’m curious if there’s any relation between Alicia Lowe and myself.

I suggest Nathaniel Phillbrick's Mayflower: A Story of Courage, Community and War. It tells the story from going to Leiden up to, during and after Metacom's War (aka King Phillips War) of 1675.
Im descended from many passangers: Will. Bradford (through his sons Will. and Joseph), Will. Brewster (through his SON Love, yes son), John Alden and Priscilla Mullins (through their daughter Eliz.) and Richard Warren (forgot how).

Hello from Billericay, I was born and bred in Billericay, and have always been fascinated by the History, the Mayflower descendants Christopher Martin Mayflower Governor and his wife lived in a building in the centre of our high street, still in existence, now its a Tandoori Restaurant, dating back to 1510, several pubs in the high street, I found out a lady whom I know in town is a direct descendant to Captain Myles Standish, only found out today when she uploaded the tale on TH-cam!
Billericay is built up now, but back in the day of the Mayflower Pilgrims Tilbury the London Port was visible from the High Street of, Billericay, a road connecting the town to Tilbury still exists, the original church of Burstead exists and many Inns or Pubs of the time exist, its possible to have a meal and drink in some cosy pubs of the time it is said from local folk law that the Mayflower Contgency met and stayed in Billericay the night before setting off for the New World.

This is a well-done talk, and I'm enjoying the rebuttal on the roles of women. There are a couple of incorrect dates, though, that I'd like to point out. First, the Mayflower set sail on September 6, not the 16th. Also, during the period that the Pilgrim women were still in Holland, John Adams would not have been there, as he hadn't even been born yet.

there is some reference to Samoset asking for beer from the Pilgrims. They had none at that point, but did feed him and gave him some form of strong water.

    • @tomk9820
      @tomk9820 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

The speaker was impressed that Samoset knew English and it is documented that he requested a beer. Since most water sources were tainted in Europe, a weakened beer was used for consumption during the long voyage, even for kids. It was not the tasty suds as we are accustomed, but it was used in lieu of water for sanitation reasons. And this was gladly given to Samoset who played a pivotal part in this story, which is why the program is dedicated to him! After arrival and exploring the area, fresh water sources were discovered.

Puritans were very thankful for Squanto. Very true! Chief Massasoit kept the peace until he died. However, Chief Massasoit's 2nd son later attacked in King Philip's War also known as The 1st American Indian War. That was around 1675 and due to more and more settlers encroaching on their land. King Philip who was Chief' Massasoit's son dragged The Narragansett Tribe into that war that Roger Williams bought his land from in Rhode Island. The British Royals just wanted to enslave all the savages, but people like Roger William stood against The British from letting that happen. Oh...and it was Anne Boleyn who was The Protestant, King Henry The VIII's 2nd wife. I also learned that were Protestants in the 12th century, so even I'm proven wrong at times. Still, The European Persecutions were very real. Something that is hardly spoken of today, and I'm pretty sure The British retook control over The United States using The Rothschild Banking Baron Family....their minions!

I wish I could share everything I learned while researching online, because I'm tired of living in fear in a country that my ancestors helped Found, literally. Well, except for Capt. Samuel Boone Jr. Oh...long story but he kept his nose out of The American Revolution. Capt. Samuel Boone Jr's son, William Boone married Ruth Hill both born in Kingstown, RI. They lived out the remainder of their lives in Burtts Corner, NB. His son, William Boone Jr. who married Anne Hayworth moved to Geary, NB near Camp Gagetown in Oromocto, NB where my mom, Madeleen Florence Boone, grew up. She died a week after my Liver Transplant at Mass General Hospital in October of last year. I grew up in Bristol, CT. Home of ESPN and Lake Compounce. Well, Hershey owned that awhile. My sister won't listen to me at all. She works for The VP for CVS Pharmacy. Oh...she would rather remain oblivious. I was once asked to become a delegate for Ron Paul years ago, but I was too afraid to bite people's noses off. I don't like liars. I never did. I never will.

Oh...I made a mistake. My ancestor wasn't on The Mayflower. John or Johannis Wightman, son of Rev. Edward Wightman came to America in 1654 and was on Roger Williams' Petit Jury in 1661. Thank you for sharing. Wow, I am in awe. I am amazed, the United States is truly a blessed nation. I am from the island of American Samoa, a territory of the United States, I wish I can vote, but you know I voted in Heaven....fun fact. All my life growing up I have observed the United States of America as the "Salvation" nation. Well, I told God I am voting in heaven for Life and for Trump. Well if I can't vote for God's servant Trump, I might as well vote in heaven. I have listened to all God's Prophets, Tracy Cooke, Hank K., Kevin Zadai, etc., and all other God's servants about the election, everyone is on the same page of what is in God's heart for Trump. And God put the same feeling in me that confirms in my heart that God wants Trump to do his will. Recently God gave me visions about the United States. My vision connects to fervent interceeding. And watching updates on the election and see God's hand moved is just mind-blowing. And I realized something here, it is not really about Trump (Trump is his chosen servant that will do His will), the President, Trump, and all of us are all God's servants to do His will, but it is all about God. It's about God's plan and what His heart wants from his children.......Well, lets' fix our eyes to God, have faith in God thus his message proclaimed................ Thanks again. God bless you.

Dear Friend, I have to differ with you about Trump... he is anything BUT a God send.
If you know your Bible, you will see that Trump's words and actions are not Christlike and are actually contrary to scripture. The man is totally selfish and self centred. Because of his selfishness, he will be remembered as the most divisive president in America history.
As for his latest actions, he will never overturn the election results no matter how hard he tries. Like all of us, he will learn that "man proposes but God disposes".
My brother, your disillusionment greatly troubles me and I pray that you will be blessed with greater discernment from our Lord and Savior.

I say the following out of heartbreak of how so many people are deceived by false teaching/prophecy. People like Kevin Zedai are not God's Prophets but false teachers that preach false doctrine. Many are greedy and about acquiring $$$$
deceiving and being deceived. Please read your Bible in context. Some of these christian movement came about iin just the last 200 years and made religions based on a few scriptures without try studying these verses in context. These are 'christian leaders' to avoid. There are warni gs throughout the Bible about false teaching becoming rampant especially in the last days. We are in the last days. All this hype on prophecy, prosperity ( the erroneous idea God wants all people tovbe always healed & be wealthy in this life... think apostles and early church!) Word of Faith, New Apostoulic Reformation are among such falsehoods & apostates that have come as wolves in sheep's clothing among the true church. This is rampant today and most often DOES NOT truly follow scripture because these trendy movements in the church bank on a weak congregation who wont read the Bible for themselves & have itchy ears....blindly following a church, celebrity pastor, or corrupt, heretical entity like Hillsong, Bethel, Elevation Worship, etc.,....now influencing the megachurches & small churches alike. Dont follow some person or apostate church trend, follow Christ and the Bible period.

Amazing that people wanted freedom to worship in their own religion. Then our founding fathers indicated that government and religion should exist separately, so as either could not infringe on the other. Seems like many politicians ought to remember this- because they are way off course right now.

Oh...my direct ancestor, John or Johannis Wightman was on The Mayflower as well, son of Reverend Edward Wightman, The Last Protestant Martyr from The First Protestant Martyr, John Rogers (Christianity Dot Com, encyclopedias) burned at the stake by Queen Mary The 1st also known as Mary Tudor, daughter of King Henry The VIII & Catherine of Aragon born before King Henry The VIII turned against Pope Clemens and massacred those 12 Catholic Monks known as The Carthusian Martyrs of London in order to found "The Church of England." John Rogers set out to edit the errors in William Tyndale's New Testament and publish William Tyndale's New Testament Bible under a pseudonym name, Thomas Matthews. Of course, King Henry The VIII founded The Church of England after corruption began under Pope Leo X in 1514 which led to Martin Luther's 95 Theses. Of course, William Tyndale's New Testament later became The King James Version of The Bible, and King James used it to persecute Protestants until Edward Cook came out with The Parliament Bill of Rights which removed King James The II replaced by his nephew, Prince William of Orange also known as Prince William The III. Queen Mary The 1st also known as "Bloody Mary" due to all those Protestants she executed right down to Edward Cook led Roger Williams to come out with The Separation of Church & State that later transcended down into our U.S. 1st Amendment between The Danbury Baptist Association & Thomas Jefferson in Danbury, CT in 1802-3. John or Johannis Wightman's son, Reverend George Wightman who married Elizabeth Updyke had sons named Rev. John Wightman & Rev. Valentine Wightman buried in The Wightman Cemetery in Groton, CT. Valentine married Susannah Holmes, the daughter of Mary Holmes, the daughter of Mary Sayles, the daughter of Roger Williams. Susannah Holmes also fell under Obadiah Holmes as President Abe Lincoln did under Obadiah's son John and his son John Jr. Obadiah Holmes (Christianity Dot Com). Of course, It was Pastor John Robinson who led The Mayflower, & Speedwell before The Fortune followed that next year in 1621. John Robinson was a follower of English Minister John Smyth who died in Amsterdam in 1612. Rev. Edward Wightman also spent time there as well as Holland, 40 miles away. Oh...he was known through Protestant Circles before he was arrested a few times before King James I ordered him burned at the stake. Queen Mary The 1st didn't like what King Henry The VIII did, her father. The Tudor Society out of London knows all about that past as well as George Boleyn accused of committing adultery with Anne Boleyn along with his associates after Anne gave birth to a stillborn, Of course, she also learned of his mistress before they were married - National Geographic. The Protestant Reformation Era mentioned through Founders Archives Gov as well as The European Persecutions are mentioned through The U.S. Library of Congress and I believe through Founders Archives Gov as well through their website.

Native tribes had been in contact and trading with European explorers and merchants for most of the 16th century. Some were brought back to Europe to learn European languages and serve as interpreters. Unfortunately, European diseases were introduced, and that wiped out several tribes altogether. The Natives had no laws against immigration, and some even sold land to the immigrants.
