    One thing I like about your videos is how formal you are. I know that sounds weird, but good manners can go a long way. I'm studying business currently so I'm learning more than just buses from your videos. And as always, your buses are great. I'm glad that you try and take good care of them and order options to make them last (although this is a dealer unit).

    Cool video. Working for my company I've had 3 Ic Bues. 05, 08, 16. After 13 years my back is terrible I got to step away from driving. Every bus my company had was a solid frame driver seat no give. Man What a joy a air seat must be.

      @Nicks Lawn Care agreed 100%! My very first school bus I was on was a 2003 International 3800 with the 7.3L T444E under the hood. Zane in my final year of high school I got to go on a brand new 2017 International IC-CE with the Cummins 6.7L under the hood, and let me tell you that both of those buses were built to last unlike the 2010 Thomas C2 That I was on. Sure it ran fine the first few years, but after that the reliability just went out the window.

    Nice thorough video. The exhaust pipe was able to be reduced in size because of changes in the DPF/emissions system. It doesn't burn quite as hot, which means it no longer needs the diffuser on the end.

    6:17 I've been on a 2004 IC CE300 but the Stop Sign didn't have that problem. I mean, sometimes my driver would have to activate the reds again and deactivate them, but otherwise, that stop arm was fine. It's a TX bus anyway, so it doesn't get too cold in the winter. Unlike December 2017...

  • @jaysmith1408

    Some things interesting about IC Bus, is that they are the cab and chassis of the DuraStar, yet some features have not carried over. The DuraStar has been upgraded to the MV cab (to match the new ProStar-LT tractor) the IC still has the older DuraStar cab. The DuraStar has the air horn on the wheel, the MV has a pull cord. Unknown where this horn is. The Internationals have an ISB or an ISL as options, the IC has only the ISB. Not bashing, it is a beautiful bus, the age of Freightliner buses is showing, International has started upgrading theirs, a far nicer interior, better handling, more comfortable. The differences of IC to international are just interesting. I am impressed, congratulations.

    • @SwannBus
      @SwannBus  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      jfsa380 Thanks, I agree. However, we must remember that any changes to a school bus has to be approved by the federal government. I think the IC will migrate to the MV interior but it must be vetted by the government for school bus duty. I’m thinking 2024/2025 we’ll see an update.

      ICCE 83 just not a BB guy, even when I tried my dealer offered terrible customer service. Additionally, Ford is slated to stop producing the 6.8 V10 found in the BB gasoline bus. Not sure when they will start offering the new 7.3 gasoline, but that could be a contender for me in the future. Lastly, the 8.8 gasser in my IC is impressive, I’ll likely get another one soon. Some serious chrome. And people, just don’t say it’s not an 2021, look at the registration. Also don’t say you work at so called “ICCE” we all know the bus developer is Navistar and IC bus. This bus wasn’t custom ordered, and has and runs on Diesel. The engine is Cummins. It has 260 HP. The headlights were replaced to be LED, if you couldn’t tell. In this video the bus had 1392 miles. The bus was built as of 9/19 (correct me if I’m wrong) And that basically sums up the video.

    I notice all the IC's built new since this summer have thicker "school bus" lettering than before. (Subtle but noticeable). No steering wheel door controls?? Is this the new standard or an option? I remember a LIMITED amount of buses (06's and 07's) with manual handle doors with cruise control switches on steering wheel instead of door and amber/red controls. Undercoating is a plus; it's about time they did that!!! I think white roof buses should be STANDARD!!! I agree with stop sign wire reinforcements. Yeah, the cross arm magnets, not surprised they disappeared. More often than not, they didn't work, even early on. Amazing about the newer IC's holding their air so well. My company hasn't bought IC's in 5 years but Thomas. And you're right about Thomas. Some buses, even newer ones leak overnight. We even had a brand new one, just delivered, and I found one air gauge close to full and the other one well below 60 psi. About date oddities, it seems they skip a year when a bus is built after the start of a school year. A bus I trained on for my CDL was an 04 IC, though the date of manufacture was 12/2002. And the 06 year buses I mentioned earlier were actually built in late fall of 2004. So it's not unusual.

      Chuck Ashcraft probably not, my Bluebird dealer isn’t exactly the friendliest or most supportive to its buyers. This is likely keep my from buying.

      Telluride I know right, honesty not sure when they will change it. The MV drivers area will need to be approved by the federal government for school bus use. So, that could take a while.

      Yeah, that too but with Adam actually having a product that works and he use on a daily basis, I would like to try that one. I know there are tons on the market however every kit isn’t created equally. I don’t want to put in a cheaper light that last maybe 100 hours and then the bulb goes out which I read on many reviews of LED conversion kits.

    Our new ic sets for 2 hours and tank 1 down to 60, cross your fingers on the door switch door operation, mine is faulty i go to switch to door open and takes 8 to ten seconds to open and thats after it was supposedly fixed, bs. I wished they had choosen to go with cummins instead the PSI 8.8L man they are pooches on hills, plus driver slider window rattles like heck annoying, hey ic update that! Drives ppl nuts having to put up with that.

    • @SwannBus
      @SwannBus  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      tmaq97 your air pressure issue could be caused by the difference between the 8.8 engine (belt driven compressor) and the Cummins (gear driven compressor). I’ll do some research to see if the unit on the PSI engines flow the same 18.7 cfms as the gear driven units. I haven’t purchased any gasoline ICs but would consider one as a spare.
